  • Neil Roberts has a flamboyant sense of style, quite like his PB, Sohma Ayame, the snake in Fruits Basket.

  • Xu Tien's PB was chosen in part because the anime takes place in China. The resemblance of her powers to the powers of another character in the anime was entirely on accident.

  • Shi Rong and Ang Shun both work at a restaurant called Fengshan inside Beihai park. This restaurant exist today, and specializes in imperial cooking. Beihai park was originally a part of the Forbidden City.
  • Emerson's mother was killed on July 13th, which is actually the date of Kalle's mother's birthday.

  • Xu Tien's power is a reference to Chinese mythology, and the four gods that represent the cardinal directions.
  • Skuld was originally named after Skuld of the three norns of Norse mythology. Her power is also inspired by the fact, as Skuld was "what is to come" (future). Skuld's sisters Verdandi and Urd are the names of the other two norns, Verdandi is "the being" (present), Urd is "the past".
