Cindy is 19 years old, the third child in a family of four and a second-year student at London University. Her passion in life is science, and conducts random experiments which may or may not involve the freezing of bugs.
She lives alone with her cat, The Cheat.

Cindy's life up until now has been pretty average. The third kid in a family of four, two being stepkids-her parents split up when she was only three, so she doesn't remember her dad remarrying and thinks of her stepmom and stepsiblings as her own family members.
She's had an obsession with science since the tender age of six; her kitchen experiments and stacks of books were a legend around the Hughes homestead. Her fascination only grew as she got older, to the point where she barely passed her other courses because they just weren't as interesting. Despite this, she was accepted to the University of London, where she chose science as a major and immersed herself in her studies.
She discovered her powers many months ago while walking home during a storm; a bolt of lightning about to hit her was redirected to a nearby rock.
[edit] Personality
Cindy's a rather quiet girl and a hard worker. When she's busy with one of her projects or thinking hard about something, it can be hard to get her attention with anything short of an explosion or a hungry pet. She thrives on logic and believes there can always be an explanation for everything without going to "fate" or "destiny" as a default.
However, she's anything but shy and doesn't mind being around people at all. She'll babble about her latest projects to anyone who will listen, and can be quite talkative and bubbly in general when the mood strikes her, which is quite often. She can also be pretty snarky when the mood strikes her. She tends to bury herself in her studies or hide behind logic when worried or upset.
She walks a line between perceptive and oblivious; sometimes she knows exactly when to read between the lines, other times anything less than 100% obvious goes over her head.
