Overly cheerful and seemingly carefree, she rarely seems to take anything seriously. She has trouble with moving on and letting go, and because of this tends to obsess over people and things, making her seem clingy.

Ris can manipulate any surrounding shadow to suit her fancy. With this power she can create a range of tangible "shadow creatures," from the size of a house cat to larger than a person. She has never had the chance to create a kekkai.

o1. Ris loves to sing, and always sings, silly love songs when she thinks no one is listening, even though she would love to have someone she could sing to someday and not be afraid they’d think she were weird. (She’s not particularly good at it, either, but she enjoys it and believes if you really love something you shouldn’t let that stop you.) (Her current favourite is Foo Fighters’ “Everlong.”)
o2. Pale blue is her favourite colour, though she’s more prone to wear greys and blacks instead. She prefers to save it for special occasions.
o3. She hates her first name (Cori). When she was in middle school she looked it up in a baby name book, and from then on hated its meaning, because she refuses to see herself as that kind of person. “Ris” comes from her shortening the second part of it, and the “s” was an eventual add-on before she reached high school age. (The only person she can tolerate using this name are her parents, as they gave her the name, and she’s very grateful for their loving her like they do.)
o4. Ris actually dislikes her powers, as well. They’ve been great for games with her cousin growing up, but as time has gone have become seemingly useless to her, and only remind her of happier times that aren’t coming back. The shadows themselves are comical looking, with big, googly eyes and tiny claws. She does, however, love the fact she can see in the dark.
o5. She’s prone to “white lies,” usually for the sake of making herself feel better about a situation, but when it comes to other people will grit her teeth and step up to tell the truth. She doesn’t consider this hypocritical.
o6. As a little girl she used to crawl up on walls and sit for as long as she could, mimicking the gargoyles. This never lasted very long though, from her natural inability to sit still and the annoyance of holding her face in such expressions. Much like her singing, if she thinks she’s alone, she’ll crawl up on a wall or out the window of the apartment where her aunt, uncle and cousin live and mimic the gargoyles again. (They remind her of her shadows.)
o7. Religion has never mattered very much to her. Fate has always been there, and prayers have always been soothing, and there were always blessings for her to count if she felt down. This has, and always will, be enough for her.
o8. Bright colours make her smile.
o9. She dreams of being an art teacher, though she isn’t sure if for a school or privately or anything or if she even will be one, and is currently enrolled in various art history and concept classes at the college a handful of the other New York members attend.
1o. Like a typical girl, she eats copious amounts of chocolate when she’s depressed, though she eats so many sweets and other foods she’s amazed when people notice that there is a pattern to her eating. (She fears the day her metabolism slows down and the weight starts to stick, but she expects to have settled down in a very comfortable life by this time and doesn’t think on it too much.)
11. She’s subconsciously aware of Brian’s crush on her, but doesn’t think much of it, and treats him the same way she’s always done, like the little brother she didn’t get to have.
12. Letting go and moving on has never been her strong point. One of her greatest fears is forgetting everything she’s seen and done, so while she uses the online journal for random socialising, she also keeps a very detailed set of diaries dating back from when she was just turning ten, and writes in it everyday. She’s also very clingy of people, a bit to the point of obsession, but she knows well enough to give space from time to time.
13. She bites at her lip and brushes her hair back while conversing with people, or when she’s thinking on something. She doesn’t realise she does this.
14. Love is everything to her.
15. She isn’t against sleeping past noon, be it a weekday or a weekend, and can easily keep herself awake all night just to do it again, but to counteract this she enjoys being productive and out and about, so she sleeps as much as she needs to and rarely more.
16. Frustration happens easily for her (and occasionally leads to a rage that can send her into roundhouse kicks to the face, but this is rather rare occurrence unless you’re Brian), and it’s usually then when she’ll take on a commanding, “I’m in charge” tone with people, as opposed to her “I’m easy going and love to smile!” voice.
17. Despite the fact she’s a rather small girl (she considers herself “average”) and possesses a certain amount of grace, she can’t walk silently or without bumping into at least the wall. (She laughs whenever she hears Brian refer to it as “thumping around” because it reminds her of the rabbit from Bambi, and things like that strike as things that should, and will be, laughed at.)
18. Laughter and smiling are a close second to love.
19. Worrying is a useless emotion to her, though it’s something she’s more prone to than she’d like. ("I'd rather be surprised when the bad things happen so I don't have to waste my time worrying about what I can't change.")
