Grodus Rising

From Yb Timeline

“For even in the ashes of defeat, we have been able to achieve victory. Not only is the seventh emerald now in our grasp, but the ultimate weapon of the Metal Army is now in our use. We have had much sacrifice, and yet we are stronger for it. Let it be known, from this day forth, that the Secret Society of the X-Nauts has achieved triumph over the most powerful forces in the universe. Let it be known, that Lord Grodus, has risen once again!”

Story

Prolouge: Midst the Chaos

The story opens three months after the events of The Blackest Days, where Lord Crump's inept leadership destroyed the X-Naut Armada on Chronis. Without his army, Grodus was forced to revert to a new plan; he would distract the Yoshi Bodyguards by engineering a plot for Bowser to kidnap the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom while he would go after the Chaos Emeralds, which had been scattered across the universe after their last attempt to obtain them in X-Chaos. Grodus had each one of these emeralds tracked and was moving to take the one-by-one.

However, the red emerald, held in a Galactic Federation research facility, was raided by Ultra Stuffwell and his Steel Legion, who took the emerald and destroyed the facility. Grodus attempted to track the Metal Army, but there seemed to be no sign of the emerald's signature. Grodus sent his newly promoted second-in-command and close friend, Admiral Stalvick, to Star World's Fahr Outpost in hopes of finding information on the emerald's whereabouts.

Chapter 1: Winter Assault

The story opened with Stalvick's forces attacking Fahr Outpost directly in a frontal assault. However, the X-Nauts were beaten back by the SWDF entrenched there. Stalvick's forces retreated, but on their way to regroup they encountered a group of rebels who offered to help them. This group stated they were aimed at destroying the SWDF and at cracking Fahr Outpost. The rebel group was lead by Litera, and contained several notable members as Eli, an adventurer and technological wizard with a shady past, Paper, a former hero now in dire straits, and Amphy and Christopher, two sentient Pokemon who joined in a hunt for fortune. Litera told Stalvick of a back route into the base, and asked only to join the X-Nauts. Stalvick approved, and formed the first Conscript regiment of the X-Nauts.

When they first reached Fahr, Eli and Paper disorganized the defenders by creating snow drifts that buried the facility's walls. Then, Amphy and Christopher came in with a double volt tackle, destroying the artillery that had held back the X-Nauts and disabling the base's power plant. Then the X-Nauts moved in, defeating up the remaining defenders. Stalvick then ordered Litera to take his men into the central building and secure its databanks before the SWDF sent reinforcements.

When they entered, Paper noted that the building was the Gadd Instillation, a famed military research station founded by Professor Elvin Gadd in his early years. In one of the labs the group ran across a strange robotic block, which was activated by Christopher. The block came to life and revealed itself to be Teen Angst, an information block captured by the SWDF. Just then, several soldiers come in to engage them, and Amphy attempted to shock them. He missed, hitting a containment cell and releasing the captive. Inside was a raptor named Ripvor, who killed the SWDF troopers and offered his services as a mercenary to the X-Nauts. They accepted, and went on.

Before they reached the terminal, a Church Protectorate member named Sister Maya attempted to stop them. The two groups battled long and hard until Eli came with an attack from behind, freezing her before Litera used a vial of sleeping powder on her. Litera declared the place secure, and the X-Nauts quickly raided the central information terminal. They discovered that the SWDF had no idea as to the whereabouts of the emeralds, but they found that the famed Mobian scientist Doctor Eggman had a large amount of research on the properties of the Chaos Emeralds. They group salavged what information they could before moving on. Stalvick ordered all of his forces back to the fleet before the rest of the SWDF came to investigate.

Chapter 2: The Renton Shipyards

The attack on Bowser's Castle had just begun by Mario and the Yoshi Bodyguards, creating an international incident on Star World. Grodus made a pact with the Shroobs and sent the bulk of his fleet to Star World oversee the first step of his operation in stealing the emerald in the posession of the Yoshi Bodyguards. However, he was worried about interference from the SWDF fleet. He ordered Stalvick to raid the SWDF's primary naval base at the Renton Shipyards, a top secret base disovered by Stalvick in the databanks of Fahr Outpost, and stall the SWDF while crippiling their navy as base as possible. Grodus stated that as the first of the Conscripts' payment, they would be able to keep any ship they captured.

The attack began with a surprise assault on the docking platforms. Eli crashed his transport into one of the docks, running across the platform to steal a SWDF Model Blade class Cruiser. Upon liberating it, he gave it the name Sylloderriga Jet Mk V, and moved to regroup with the main fleet. Amphy and Ripvor landed on a nearby dock, and Ripvor destroyed the SWDF cannons while Amphy flew the transport containing the X-Naut pilots. Amphy ran into a Galactic Federation Sheegoth Invasionary Transport, naming it EHUSGHVY26UJ79/:blunderface, while Ripvor took a Merciless class Stealth Ship, naming it the Raptor. Nearby, the X-Nauts fought aboard the bridge of a YSS Windfish, the largest vessel in SWDF arsenal, and took command, destroying the dock it was attached to.

Paper and Litera both landed on one of the docks dock, but as they moved to the ship, a cannon bolt blasted apart their platform, destroying the gravity mechanism and collapsing it. At the last second, Litera teleported Paper to a nearby Leviathan Battlecruiser. Paper thought it strange that Litera knew magic, but thought little of it, and named his Battlecruiser the Scientifically, Of Course, off of a phrase he constantly used. On another platform, Teen Angst and Christopher moved out, when Teen Angst was hit by a stray bullet. Christopher first thought her dead, but then flipped a switch on her back, reactivating her. Teen Angst declared Christopher her boyfriend, much to his displeasure. Christopher raided a Tempest Class Drone Ship, naming it the Christopher's Fire. Teen Angst came into his ship, but Christopher ejected her out into space. She floated into a small Setting Sun Class Vessel, which she named Totally.

As all of the ships met at the rendezvous point, a large fleet of SWDF ships came out of slipspace. This fleet was headed by Birdross, who ordered their surrender. Stalvick refused, and the space battle began. paper was hit by a blast from the SWDF flagship Twilight of Hope, and was almost downed before he pulled back. Eli and Christopher came in, supporting Paper, but but Christopher overextended himself and assaulted the capitol ship. However, the Twilight of Hope had too much firepower and almost destroyed Christopher's Fire, when Teen Angst used her ship's dimensional recall to pull Christopher back. Amphy and Eli were all that were left of the Conscripts, and were pondering hitting the ship's primary Combo Cannon, when Ripvor's ship came out of stealth mode and strafed the ship, damaging the ship and destroying its main cannon. Just as the Twilight of Hope was ready to open up it's other batteries, Stalvick's Defender of Heroes and a group of liberated ships flanked the SWDF fleet, disabling a large portion of the fleet and forcing General Birdross to retreat.

Stalvick took all remaining ships, and destroyed the shipyards that remained. Grodus then ordered the fleet to move to Mobius, in order to take what research Eggman had on the emeralds.

Chapter 3: The Secret of Mobius

While Stalvick moved to Mobius, Grodus had already moved to secure three of the emeralds. However, other factions caught wind of Grodus's plan and began hunting for the emeralds too, including The Yoshi Bodyguards, the Witchy Fury Trio, and Bowser. Grodus's main concern was Eggman, however. As he had disovered from the raid on Fahr Outpost, Eggman was the primary source on the emeralds, and most likely knew where each one is. He had decided to send Stalvick to hit his base on Mobius while the bulk of his fleet was out searching for the emeralds, and steal whatever information he had on their whereabouts.

When they arrived, the X-Nauts found Mobius in the middle of an invasion by the Metal Army and it's Zinc Legion. The Galactic Federation and local Guardian Units of Nations forces had been dispatched to quell the invasion, but the entire planet had fallen into chaos. Litera stated that the invasion was the perfect cover to raid Eggman's Scrap Brain Zone, one of his central manufacturing facilities. Ripvor, Eli, and Christopher were dispatched to the surface, but their transport was shot down by Metal Army raiders. They crashed in the streets and fought off a combination of Metal Army and Robotnik's Forces.

Meanwhile, millions of light years away, Doctor Eggman took notice of the Metal Army attack on his base. He decided to pull his forces back to a central structure and erected an energy shield over his core complex. He then stated that he had known such at attack was coming, and had something planned for such an occastion. The central structure activates snd releases a singal that deactivates all Metal Army forces in the immediate area.

Stalvick calls a meeting with Litera and Grodus, who discuss this new development. They all agree that Eggman had developed a key technology that could very well turn the tide of the Metal Wars that had been consuming the galactic cluster. Litera suggests that if the SWDF or Galactic Federation managed to obatain the device, that the cover for their invasion would be blown. Thus, he stated, the device should be destroyed. Stalvick disagreed, stating they should take the device and use it to disrupt any Metal Army operations that get in their way. After much deliberation, Grodus sided with Litera, and ordered a second team into the center of the base to secure the area so the AI Disruptor could be dismantled.

Teen Angst and Amphy used the dimesional scrambling abilities of the Totally to warp behind the energy shield and moved through a wave of Badniks to destroy the shield generator. Teen Angst then uploaded a virus to the generator's computer terminal, which overloaded the generator and disabled the shield and the disruptor. Litera, Eli, and a group of X-Nauts then battled their way into the central complex, destroying a Metal Shadow that defended the base's data core. The data salvaged from the core stated that Eggman too did not know where the seventh emerald was, but a scientist named Tabbir Whirl had managed to locate it. Litera calls for explosives to destroy the disruptor, but is relived by a group of Elite X-Nauts under Stalvick, who stated they would dismantle the Disruptor. The group pulls back, and discuss how to get a hold of Whirl.

Meanwhile, in orbit, another force was tracking the X-Nauts, but keeping their distance.

Chapter 4: The Hunt for Whirl

As Grodus's crusade for the emerald continued, several other factions had joined the hunt. However, the Shroobs and X-Nauts had broken their alliance off, depriving Grodus of a good portion of his primary fleet.

Meanwhile above Mobius, the X-Nauts discussed how to capture Whirl. Stalvick stated that they should first capture the primary communications terminal for the Federation and discover where Whirl had been taken. Litera and Eli, being the only humans who could pass for Federation soldiers, used captured Federation armor and a stolen dropship to sneak into the terminal. They disovered a transmission stating Whirl was in Station Square, the planetary capitol and the area of highest defense on the planet. Litera and Eli destroy the terminal and attempt to escape, but then an air raid siren sounds. The two ran to their transport, flying away just as a nuclear blast devastates the Federation position.

Back on the Defender of Heroes, Stalvick stated that it was the Metal Army who had used nuclear arms on the Federation base. Without their communication's network, their anti-missile systems had gone offline, an exploit the Metal Army had immediatly exploited. To make matters worse, the X-Naut's scans showed that the Metal Army had twenty more missile nearly ready for launch, many of them set on Station Square. Stalvick explained that if Whirl died, their entire operation would be a failure. After some deliberating, the group discovered that the remaining Federation forces were planning a last ditch attack on the nukes, but the base's defenses were still up. Stalvick ordered Ripvor, Paper, and Amphy to destroy their central Shockwave Air Defense Cannons before the Federation attack arrived.

When they reached the surface, the three fought through Metal Army lines, set up plasma charges on the base of each cannon and detonating them. Just as they leave, the Federation/GUN forces fly in, bombing the base and destroying the missiles. This turns the tide of the invasion, but Stalvick reflects that Whirl is still in a position too well-defended for them to infiltrate.

Stalvick reviewed some of the stolen transmissions between Federation Command and Whirl, and locates the laboratory of Whirl. He discovers that there is a object of importance to Whirl, one that he did not trust the Federation to defend and required that the lab be kept secret. Stalvick sent Teen Angst and Christopher to take the lab where they find Whirl's female companion, Evelyn. Just as they were going to secure her, Metal Chaos appeared, disarming the X-Nauts and beating Christopher into submission. Christopher then noticed an undetonated grenade that stuck in Metal Chaos's back, and sent a thunderbolt at it, detonating it and blowing Metal Chaos apart. Christopher then calls for Stalvick, stating he had Evelyn secure. Stalvick had her captured and sent a message over her private communicator to Whirl: Come to your lab alone with your research on the emeralds, or Evelyn dies.

Whirl came, meeting Stalvick and his fleet of ships. At first, the deal was going smoothly, despite Glerk's concern of a trap. Then, Stalvick launched an EMP at Whirl's ship to disable it, promptly flanking him with his forces. He stated that Whirl would be captured and awaited trial by Grodus himself. Just then, Coshi came in with a fleet of Yoshi Bodyguard ships. He had been sent to help against the Metal Army, but noticed the X-Nauts, and trailed their operations. He beat back the X-Nauts a force of Yoshi Bodyguard Clone Troopers and liberated Evelyn. The Conscript's attempted to recapture her, but Metal Chaos engaged them, allowing them to take her back to Coshi's ship. When Whirl's group was safe aboard his vessels, he used three Setting Sun Class Ships to teleport away. Stalvick demanded that they be tracked, and Whirl be taken.

Chapter 5: Revelation

While Stalvick tracked Whirl, Grodus was setting plans in motion to claim the six located emeralds in one strike. However, he required all seven in order to fufill his plans, and demanded that Stalvick secure the seventh emerald. He tracks them to a unknown planet near Holocate, where a Yoshi Bodyguard base has been set up, next to a passive group of Metal Army forces. Grodus ordered Litera and Stalvick to make sure the Metal Army do not interfere while the Conscripts find the research, kill Coshi, and capture Whirl and his allies.

The conscripts drop in the middle of a skirmish between Metal and YB forces, where Eli teleports them back near the target. They infiltrate their way into the base, where Whirl was showing his research to Coshi. The Conscripts made their way to the room where the data was uploaded, where they found the emerald to be on Alinos, the base of operations for the Metal Army's Steel Legion. Just as the Conscripts went to contact Grodus, Coshi discovered them, and a battle ensued. However, in the middle of their fight, sirens sounded, and Coshi disengaged. The data was uploaded to Grodus, and Stalvick congratulated them, saying that the mission was a success. However, Stalvick noticed that the entire Metal Army force on the planet had begun to attack from Litera's position, and that Litera had moved his forces out of the way. Stalvick contacted Litera, who stated he had seen no Metal forces in his area, and when ordered to move back into position, Litera said the signal was fading, and he would establish contact later. Stalvick ordered the Conscripts to evacuate the planet before retreating himself, with only the words "I have a personal matter to attend to."

The Conscripts moved out of the base, which was on the verge of being overrun. They reached the rooftop, where they met Coshi, who was evacuating Whirl's group. Eli tried to stop him but was shot by Coshi's gunblade, incapacitating his leg. This bought Whirl and Coshi's group enough time to lift off, and, after bypassing the Metal Army airfleet, Coshi reached his personal flagship, the Great Panaj. Jet Gundam then took the ship out of orbit, and sped into hyperspace toward Star World.

Meanwhile, the Conscripts fought off several Ariel Zaku Troopers before a dropshop, commanded by Litera, came down to pick them up, Oddly enough, no Metal Army forces opposed them as they regrouped with the remains of the fleet. Litera informed the Conscripts that Stalvick had betrayed them, and they had to regroup with Grodus. Eli was skeptical, but said nothing.

Chapter 6: Traitor's Hand

On Star World, Grodus defeated Eggman and Cackletta, gaining six of the seven emeralds. He was ready to return to the fleet, when every opposing faction banded together against him in a last ditch effort to gain the emeralds. Grodus activated the six of them he had, but it was not enough. Grodus was defeated, and the most of the Secret Society was captured by the SWDF, but Grodus returned to the remains of the fleet, who were in mid-retreat from the battle on the unknown planet and looking for Stalvick.

Grodus tracked Stalvick's ships to Hylia's Moon, where a X-Naut base camp had been set up. Grodus was willing to forgive Stalvick, until he found a rebuilt AI Disruptor, exactly like the one Stalvick was ordered to destroy on Mobius, on the moon's surface. Litera convinced Grodus that Stalvick had his own agenda and to have him and the Conscripts raid the Disruptor and kill Stalvick.

The Conscripts arrived, setting down near the base of the Disruptor. They encountered no resistance until they entered the complex, where X-Nauts loyal to Stalvick fought back. The Conscripts used their nonlethal weapons against the defenders and moved on. After some searching, they found a computer terminal, and after fighting with the Disruptor's security systems, find the Magnus von Grapple bay as well as the location of Stalvick. When they reach the repair bay the encountered a group of skilled Grapple pilots, and are almost beaten, when Teen Angst's phone droped from her hand. Teen Angst went into a rage and destroyed the enemy Grapples.

The group finally reached Stalvick, when Litera told the rest of the Conscripts to stay back. He alone went in and confronted Stalvick, shooting and then vanishing. In his dying breath, Stalvick contacted Grodus, telling him that Litera was the real traitor, possibly working with the Metal Army, and that he had come to activate the one hope they had to finishing their operation. He asks Grodus to find the seventh emerald, and to finish his operation to give his death some meaning. Stalvick passed away, and Grodus attempted to find Litera, but he would not respond on any channels. Soon after the power core for the disruptor is set to overheat. Grodus deduces that Litera was behind it, and ordered the Conscripts to shut the reactor core down.

The Conscripts and the remaining X-Naut defenders moved through the Disruptor when Metal Army forces randomly appeared and breached the walls of the Disruptor, affirming Litera's connection with the Metal Army. After a long series of engagements, Paper reached the override terminal, and shut the core down. Grodus congratulated his conscripts, and told them he will keep the Disruptor under guard. For now, they were to move out to Alinos to claim the last chaos emerald.

Chapter 7: The Fist of Grodus

The X-Nauts fleet moved to Alinos, sending the Metal Army fleet was into chaos. A focused blast of the AI Disruptor had instantly deactivated 70% of their forces, causing entire supercarriers to plummet to the planet's surface. Grodus's fleet beat through the remaining defending ships and beseieged the planet.

Grodus, aboard his refitted YSS Winfish, the Might of Grodus, consulted with TEC-X3 on the situation. He contacted each Conscript on their individual missions. Teen Angst and Ripvor were to destroy the Metal Army's array of turrets that defended the outer perimeter. Christopher and Amphy were to destroy the primary factory complex. Finally, Eli and Paper were to destroy the shield generator that projected an energy barrier around the main base. Grodus informed the Conscripts that their contract was to expire after this mission, and that they were free to go with his best wishes.

First to land were Teen Angst and Ripvor, who found that the turrets were made of a collection of nanobots. These nanobots would instantly repair any damage done to them, making physically destroying them impossible. Ripvor concluded that there had to be some central node controlling the nanobots. Ripvor attempted to speed past the array while carrying Teen Angst, but before they managed to get to the nanobot nerve center, a group of turrets surpressed them behind a rocky outcropping. Teen Angst's phone then went off, temporary destabilizing the turrets, and Ripvor made it to the Nerve Center. There, he found a computer with basic information about the base, mentioning a powerful robot locked in the base and an "Ultimate AI" they had taken the emerald to complete. Ripvor thought nothing of it and detonated the charges he was carrying, disabling the turrets.

Second to land were Christopher and Amphy, who arrived in the factory district only to find its defenders disabled by the AI Disruptor. While investigating further, they accidentally activated a power generator and awakened a massive Metal Army Champion named Sinanju. Amphy challenged him to a battle of music, with Amphy and Christopher barely pulling out a victory. Sinanju then reneged on his deal and prepared to destroy them, but X-Naut reinforcements arrived and destroyed the champion. When the dust settled, Christopher and Amphy stood victorious.

Last to land were Eli and Paper, set to destroy the shield surrounding the central base, when they encountered resistance from Doctor Albert. He ripped off the necklace from Eli's neck, which caused him to pass out into a seizure-like state. While Paper and Doctor Albert fought, Eli transformed into a strange demon, who called himself Garzon. Garzon destroyed the generator, and forced Doctor Albert to retreat. Just as he was about to beat Paper, Paper called in an airstrike on Garzon, stunning him long enough to put the necklace around him. Garzon changed shape again, this time into a being named Rasuke, who explained that Eli, Garzon, and him inhabited the same being. The necklace imprisoned both Rasuke and Garzon, keeping Eli stable. Rasuke then warned Paper that what they're doing was wrong, and would cause great calamity to their universe. Just then, Eli regained control, and the two moved on, heading toward the central base that was now open to attack.

Meanwhile, Ripvor and Teen Angst waded their way through the streets, defeating several Gouf Ranger snipers who had the southern approach pinned down. Christopher and Amphy approached from the west, and used a double volt tackle to break through the trench lines. Both of them collapsed in front of the central black pyramid. Eli and Paper came from the east, beating Metal Army forces through the streets of the city.

Eventually, they all met at a massive black pyramid that made up the central base. All around it, Steel Legion Champions stood. The Conscripts fought hard, but could not get through the Champions. As they were about to be defeated, Grodus arrived in the Magnus von Tyrant and a platoon of X-Naut Elites. The Steel Legion Champions were defeated, and Grodus took the citadel in his name.

What they found, however, was greater than Grodus dreamed. The emerald was being used to power a massive supercomputer, one unparalleled to any in the known universe. It could take control of Metal Army forces, and coordinate assaults perfectly. The dilluted signal and the strong signature masking equipment prevented the AI or the emerald from being found. Grodus pondered this, when he was told Metal forces were massing outside the citadel.

The X-Nauts formed up, but the two factions did not engage each other. Doctor Albert and Litera first moved forward, meeting Grodus. Grodus exchanged insults with Litera, before Litera revealed himself to be the reformed Cosmic Subsourian, made an android by Metal Army technology. However, he spoke of another greater leader, and a robot named Omega stepped forward, greeting Grodus, and stating he was heir to the Metal throne. He said that, when Grodus least expected it, he would take back the Ultimate AI and destroy the AI Disruptor. Then, the Litera opened a portal away, and Doctor Albert, Litera, and Omega stepped through, but not before Omega quipped to Grodus that Stalvick was twice the man he was, and he was glad Grodus saved him the trouble of killing him. The two factions then fought, the remaining Metal Army forces being grossly outnumbered, but Grodus returned to his throne, content on his victory.

Epilouge: The Rise of the X-Nauts

The story ended with Grodus sitting in the massive citadel, next to the central computer. The AI itself was being fused with TEC-X3, allowing Grodus to control it. As TEC-X3 accessed it's systems, the base began to rise from the ground, forming into the mighty Citadel of Ultima. As the citadel rose, the defeated Metal Army soldiers rose again, serving under the control of the AI.

Meanwhile, the discharged Conscripts were flying off from Alinos in their new ships. Eli headed for Star World, seeking to find the Yoshi Bodyguards. Christopher and Amphy headed to Pokeworld to sell what arms they had gained from the battle, and eventually headed to Star World as well. Teen Angst tried to follow Christopher, but ended up causing a temporal rift that threw her through a gap in time and space. Ripvor drifted off to Rareworld, leaving the X-Nauts in order to find out what happened to his tribe. Paper decided just to drift off into space, going wherever he may end up.

The story ended with TEC-X3 finishing a download of files on the last TEC models. However, upon finding TEC-XX's file, he encountered an error. A swift recovery of files resumed the download with no visible issue, but then TEC-X3 uttered the name "Princess Peach."

Trivia

  • Top originally allowed Sub to write the story of the seventh chaos emerald in Oddtastic Adventure, which Top had left in Galactic Federation territory. Sub had planned for a story named Blood Emerald, tying in the Metal Wars to Top's story, but Sub scrapped the idea and picked it up again much later with a new story.
  • The idea for the story started when Sub was playing Starcraft: Brood War and realized how one of the characters, Admiral DuGalle, was similar to Grodus. The plot was based from Starcraft Episode V: The Iron Fist, and Grodus was based off of Admiral DuGaulle.
  • Stalvick and Litera are also based of characters from the campaign, Vice-Admiral Stukov and Samir Duran, respectively.
  • Originally, the story was supposed to be extended much further, but after the Metal Wars Climax came later than expected, Sub broke the story up into two parts, one story coming after the Climax was finished.
  • Litera was not planned to be Cosmic Sub in the original plotline, however, half way through Sub toyed with the idea of keeping his Cosmic form alive. Due to it's appearance in X-Chaos, Sub thought that it fit with the overall X-Naut Saga.
  • There were several parts scrapped after their creation in the story. 5-1 and 5-4, for example, were almost completely changed from the planned idea after Sub realized they sucked.
  • Sub didn't know about Eli's split personalities until the beginning of Chapter 7, and thus did not reference it until the beginning of that chapter.
  • Omega was not supposed to even be referenced until after the Metal Wars Climax, but Sub decided to introduce him early as a new antagonist of the X-Nauts.
  • Amphy and Christopher's musical battle was based off Tenacious D's song The Showdown.

Connections to Other Stories

  • The entire story parallels Oddtastic Adventure, giving the perspective of how the X-Nauts would find the seventh chaos emerald that was lost in Federation territory. In addition, it continues the X-Naut saga from the stories The Blackest Days and X-Chaos.
  • The story is to be continued in Omega, which was told from the perspective of the Metal Army forces attempting to overthrow Grodus and his AI.
  • In Mobius Chaos Episode II: Decisive Plan! The Finale of Black Cat Slike!, Slike went to Alinos to claim the seventh emerald, breaking through the Citadel of Ultima and deactivating TEC-X3. However, after Slike was imprisoned, the emerald came back to Alinos, thus allowing the X-Nauts to continue their operations.
  • Ripvor's story was continued in Revenge on SWDF, where him, his ship and several Conscripts were reintroduced.
  • Teen Angst's appearance would be explained in Wiggly Jr.: Second Journey, where the SWDF captured her after the story's conclusion.
  • The story was tied into the Metal Wars Climax, where the Metal Army's loss of forces and technology left them at a disadvantage.
  • Christopher and Amphy would appear again in The Great Creator & The Great Destroyer, where the events of Grodus Rising were mentioned several times.
  • Eli would appear again in Endless Mystery, along with Amphy, Paper, and Christopher.
