Omega (Story)
From Yb Timeline
”No, we’ve not won yet... Victory is not in defeating your enemy, but destroying him. To eradicate him from memory, to leave no trace of his achievements, to utterly crush everything that he once was. That is the only true victory. And that is what we will give the X-Nauts."

Story
Prologue
The story began on Alinos, several months after Grodus Rising. Grodus was sitting on his throne, overlooking a multitude of campaigns with his new, enslaved Metal Army forces. To himself, he muttered on how his victory was at hand, and the X-Nauts would soon claim the universe. On a distant planet, the youth Ein was fighting off one such invasion with his Guardian Spirits, when he got a communication from somebody. At the Dark Perforation Castle, Metal Top, Minorbu, and the Dark Perforation viewed the invasion, seeing the X-Naut fleet getting too close to their castle. He then got a strange call from an unknown faction. The Dark Perforation ordered General LeBombe and a task force to aid this new faction, and sent along Nonmetal Pyro in order to rid him of his presence. Meanwhile, at Cauldron Keep, the Witchy Fury Trio learned of the X-Naut invasion, having been foiled by them in Oddtastic Adventure, and were furious. They then recived a call from an unknown faction, and headed out to answer.
Chapter 1: The Order of Omega
Omega looked from the perch of his Azure Fortress on the Distant Planet, looking over the remains of the Metal Army. He is met with Doctor Albert, Athene, and Litera, his most trusted advisers. Athene stated that they were safe from the AI Disruptor of the X-Nauts due to a psychic shield defending them. Litera announced the coming of Ein, the Witchy Fury Trio, and General LeBombe. All sides seemed to distrust this alliance, specifically Omega, and yet they agreed the X-Nauts proved too much of a threat.
They were interrupted when the psychic shield failed. Inside the base, lesser Metal Army forces started fighting with one another, driven insane by the X-Nauts signal. LeBombe and Doctor Albert went out to secure the factories, which, with the help of Neo Mecha Mario, they were able to destroy many of the dissident Metal Army forces and
However, Litera pulled Ein aside, and the two traveled to the war-ridden Mintop. They went to Hackney, where Conrad's crashed ship lay. After fighting off several Spleeches, they met with Conrad the Conqueror, offering him an alliance against the X-Nauts. He refused, opening fire on the two, but Ein and Litera beat him into submission, stating he could not refuse the offer.
Meanwhile, back on the Distant Planet, Omega, Athene, and the Witchy Fury Trio were holding the citadel gate, when they were ambushed by a Metal Army Hi-Lord. Eye-Zack of the Emerald Legion stated he shut the shield down in order to kill Omega and take control of the Metal Army. After a brief battle, Omega slew him, putting his head for all the dissident Metal army to see. He stated henceforth, he would make war on the X-Nauts, and fulfill the Metal Army's original goals.
Chapter 2: Dead Moon, Red Sky
In a meeting on Omega's ship, Ein presented Conrad to Omega. After some bickering, the Omega made him a deal: If he presented him with several Animators and helped him destroy the AI Disruptor on the moon of Hylia, he would help him retake Mintop. Conrad grudgingly agreed, and the prepared to attack the Disruptor.
Ein was dropped off on the outskirts with several Dark Perforation soldiers, who attacked an outpost near the Disruptor. After a quick battle, Ein uploaded a virus into the X-Naut networks, disabling their communications.
On the outskirts of the moon, the Witchy Fury Trio and a Spleech were dropped off, carrying an Animator. They were to reassemble the disabled Metal Army forces there from a failed attack on the Disruptor. They started Animating a few forces into strange, almost zombie like creatures, when they were discovered by a patrol. The Witchy Fury Trio held them off until the Spleech animated a Titan, which destroyed the patrol.
The animated Metal Army force moved on the Disruptor, supported by the Dark Perforation Fleet that came out of the dark side of the moon. After a fierce battle, they breached the walls of the Disruptor, overcoming the numerous defenders around it. Ein noticed something strange on the Disruptor, however. In commemoration of the Conscripts of the X-Nauts, a plaque was displayed, showing Eli. Ein was confused, and slightly disturbed, by seeing this familiar face, but didn't have time to wonder, as LeBombe knocked him out of the way just in time for the beam to blow apart the Disruptor.
The Disruptor fell, and Grodus fumed over his defeat, none the less, he stated he still had enough forces to overcome the weakened forces of the universe.
Chapter 3: Resource Wars
Back on the Distant Planet, Omega and the rest of the group plotted their next action. Conrad demanded an attack on Mintop, though Omega stated they needed a massive amount of resources to reform their weakened armies. Omega stated there was a Space Pirate mine on Tallon IV that would supply them with enough resources to reform their armies. The group then prepared to raid the resource catch.
The alliance of armies surrounded the mine, attacking the Space Pirate position there. With the element of surprise on their side, they overwhelmed the Space Pirates. The Witchy Fury and the Metal Army detected a massive group of Space Pirates in the mine, and decided to clean it out before they started mining.
The two groups came in, raiding what technology the Space Pirates had. Notably they discovered a lethal Tearith Jellied Gas, able to oxygen with lethal capacity. They raided further into the complex, but were almost repelled by a Space Pirate force, when the Witchy Fury Trio came from behind, vice gripping the Space Pirates in. They discovered a massive mech stored in the mine, and Doctor Albert ordered it disassembled and taken back to the Azure Fortress.
The next night, LeBombe and Ein were keeping watch in the dead of night, discussing their history. They were interrupted when a Galactic Federation scout patrol noticed the Metal Army presence at the mine. However, their communication was intercepted, and they attempted to get out of range to signal their fleet. Ein and LeBombe gave chase, destroying two of the three bikes. The last one was ambushed by Fawful, who sped down from the sky.
After another day, Doctor Albert stated they had reached their resource quota, and departed the mine before their presence was noticed.
Chapter 4: Liberation
Over Mintop, a massive fleet of warships descended on the planet, each bearing the symbol of the Metal Crusade, the name for the Unholy Alliance of the various factions against the X-Nauts. They attacked the X-Naut position on Mintop, engaging in a planet wide war.
Over Mintop's ocean, Stalvick's old flagship The Defender of Heroes was perched. Conrad was supposed to engage it, but diverted his forces to attack the local population of Hackeny, where they were crushed by the X-Nauts before their arrival. Ein and the Witchy Fury Trio attempted to board the flagship, where they met Numer, Cherry, and Zeth. They struck an alliance, where they would destroy the Defender of Heroes. After a long battle, they managed to disable the engines, but upon escape, a missile blast sealed the Slubes in. Ein wanted to go back for them, but the Witchy Fury Trio convinced him they were dead, and he would be too if he didn't escape. The ship crashed, with Ein and the Witchy Fury Trio escaping. The Slubes did survive, watching the ship crash on the island below.
Meanwhile, Conrad and LeBombe were ordering an attack on a Metal Army factory. Conrad charged his forces in, supported by LeBombe. The plan seemed to work, until the Metal Army came from behind. Just as they were about to be defeated, Conrad air dropped an Animator, reviving the dead under his command. He then easily beat off the Metal Army, stating that Animators had been dropped all over the planet, securing his domination.
Near Rivporgrade, the new capitol of the planet, Omega engaged the X-Naut forces outside the city. After a crushing defeat, the X-Nauts fell back to the city, attempting to hold off a siege. Omega ordered all forces on the capitol, where they started burning the city to the ground. Then a massive Titan-sized spider mech the Magnus von Kreig appeared. Conrad's forces, under Blastard, and the Neo Mecha twins engaged the von Kreig, eventually destroying it from inside. Omega then proceeded to burn the city to the ground.
Omega thanked his allies, telling them to move their armies back to their quarters for some well deserved rest before they headed out. Conrad declared his dominion over the planet, while the other factions fell back in preparation for their next attack against the X-Nauts, unaware of Omega's greater plans.
Chapter 5: Broken Alliance
Omega then met with his trusted Metal Army officers, and stated the Mintop was finally taken, the X-Nauts disrupted. Now, only Alinos and the Citadel of Ultima which allowed them to control the Metal Army stood in their way. However, before they were to leave the planet, he gave his forces one last mission, an order to annihilate their biotic allies.
Omega's forces hit the outlying camps with no mercy, flooding them will all of his forces. Eventually, they started to hold back the tide of Metal Army soldiers, and special operations were required to break them. Doctor Albert went after the Witchy Fury Trio, blasting Fawful away with a missile. He laid a trap for Grunty and Cackletta, detonating a mass of plasma charges under them. Doctor Albert confirmed them as neutralized, and proceeded to set fire to their camp. However, Fawful survived, sucking up their barely alive bodies into his helmet and flying back to Rareworld.
Nearby, the Dark Perforation Army was preparing to evacuate and warn the Creator about the Metal Army, so he could send forces to finish them off. A transport came down for LeBombe, but one of his guards was disguised as Litera, who shot him as he boarded, detonating his body and blowing up the transport.
Nearby, Ein watched the death of his friend, enraged. He swore vengeance against Omega, and attempted to take on the Metal Army on his own. Athene and her psychic Sapphire Legion met him, and the battle was fairly even, until Ein drove his lance into Athene's chest. Surprisingly, it did nothing. Athene then blasted him aside, and prepared for a final kill, when Ein concealed himself in a rock tomb, and vanished. Athene stated Ein was no longer a threat, and moved on.
Meanwhile, Omega was dealing with Conrad and his animators. He and Nonmetal Pyro were preparing to destroy the last one near Hackney, when Blastard, Rivep, Trukle, the Czar Speist, and Slicer all ambushed Omega. In a fierce battle, Omega took out each of Conrad's minions, and destroyed the last animator. Conrad met him in person, fuming over the broken alliance. Omega stated he had no intention of upholding their deal, and said he would let Conrad live only to see the Metal Army rise to power.
The Metal Army returned to the Azure Fortress, leaving Conrad behind on a wasted battlefield. However, he noticed that there still was one Animator left, hidden in a volcano.
Chapter 6: Last Stand at Azure
Omega and his forces returned to the Azure Fortress, rebuilding his forces for a final attack on Alinos. About a week later, the X-Naut controlled Renegade Metal Army attacked in a massive force, overwhelming the planet. They took the outlying fortresses quickly, Litera using a musical as cover to escape.
Omega and Doctor Albert had decided to set up a nuclear charge behind the renegade lines, disrupting their ranks. They teleported behind to their transports, almost activating the bomb, but superior numbers overwhelmed them and deactivated the bomb. Omega and his forces barely made it out.
Litera then came back to state that the X-Nauts had set up an outpost, using axillary devices to control the Metal Army in this region, stating that they could not control their forces directly this far out. Omega sent an all out attack to this outpost, destroying the X-Nauts and causing the renegades to either go insane, deactivate, or return to Omega's side. In the end, the X-Nauts attack was foiled.
Omega stated that an all out attack on Alinos was necessary, as they could not survive another assault of that magnitude. He ordered the deconstruction of the Azure Fortress, and that all materials be used to create more forces. Athene interjected, but Omega was firm on his belief. When he turned his back, she ordered a Sapphire Legionnaire to take the "chest" away from the fortress, and to hide it so their "master" would not be discovered.
Chapter 7: Reclamation
Omega brought his great warfleet to Alinos, waiting on the bridge of his flagship until the assault began. Omega stated his plan was based off of the intrusion of Slike F. Ellion not long ago, where they would use a ventilation duct to reach the AI's throne room. He unleashed his army on Alinos, assaulting the X-Naut and Renegade Metal Army fleets, and penetrating down to the surface. Athene set up her psychic artillery, bombarding the citadel defenders. Omega then deployed the Simerab, a massive titan-sized spider mech that fused the technology from Tallon IV with the Magnus von Kreig.
In the chaos, Omega, Litera, and Doctor Albert slipped into the keep, but Grodus had set a trap in the ventilation system. The group was dropped into a group of renegade Metal Army champions, which they dispatched. The three moved onward to the throne room, and found that Grodus was gone, instead there being a trap. Omega avoided the plasma trap, and examined the AI.
He found out Grodus had replaced the copy of Metal Sneezier's AI with TEC-X3, though they had limited his abilities. Doctor Albert disabled those blocks, and TEC demanded vengeance on Grodus, asking to take control of the Metal Army forces to fight him. Omega refused, and the renegade forces were released from their service, some surviving, but most falling to the ground as lifeless husks. The X-Nauts outside were given the order to retreat, the remains of the fleet fleeing the planet.
Omega then went to the core of the AI and tossed the chaos emerald there into an psychic portal. Litera looked at this, confused, when Omega used a artificial emerald he called the Cosmos Emerald in its place, using it to power the AI. Omega activated a code hidden in the citadel's core programming, and fully activated the citadel into a floating and mobile fortress.
Then, the citadel rocked. Doctor Albert informed them that Athene had opened fire on the citadel, and that they could not hold out much longer. Omega went to Athene, trying to reason with her, but he was beaten down. She revealed not to be Athene, but a puppet for something more. The puppet was ready to destroy Omega, but Nonmetal Pyro interrupted her, giving Omega the chance to destroy her with his psychic powers. The rest of her minions then fell, deactivated.
Doctor Albert said that Athene's core was still active, and she could be saved. However, Omega said not to bother, stating he would not let his guard down for an ally again. Doctor Albert took the core anyway. Omega moved all his forces around the citadel, and breached the atmosphere, only to find they had been completely surrounded by ships.
Chapter 8: Totus Vadum Termimus
Omega was contacted by Conrad, who stated he had created his fleet using the last Animator. He intended to get revenge on Omega and his forces for their actions on Mintop. However, he was surprised to find out that there were two other fleets of ships as well. Subsourian the Dark appeared with a small Alliance of Worlds fleet, stating he would finish off the Metal Army. The last fleet ended up being Grodus, who ordered Omega to surrender the Citadel of Ultima. Omega stated he would do no such thing, and destroy all of their fleets himself.
The battle started out badly for the Metal Army. After repelling the frontal ships, Grodus activated a failsafe in the Citadel of Ultima, shutting it down. Omega had to operate at minimal capacity, ordering hid forces himself. Conrad used a copy of the Animator to resurrect what ships were destroyed (including the Metal Army and other two fleets), using their hulls to fight for them. Subsourian activated the Yamato Canon on his ship, blasting apart the shields of the Citadel of Ultima and what unlucky ships were in the way.
Just then, Sub offered an alliance to Conrad and Grodus for the battle. Grodus refused, stating that they were damaging his citadel, and both of them had been disruptive in his past operations. Conrad wanted vengeance on Omega for attacking him on Mintop, and had not forgotten Sub's actions in Designs Revisited. Sub sighed, shutting off the link, stating he would have ended up destroying them after the battle was over anyway. The three factions began to fight amongst eachother as much as the Metal Army.
Here, Omega saw a chance. He ordered Litera to attack Sub's fleet, and Doctor Albert to hit Conrad's, while he destroyed the X-Nauts. Litera engaged Sub in one-on-one combat, fighting through the waves of ships in a mech battle. In the end, Litera destroyed Sub's Wizard Gundam, though Sub himself managed to escape. Sub ordered an emergency jump into hyperspace, speeding off into the unknown sectors of the Tetra Galaxy.
Omega himself engaged the X-Naut forces, almost being overrun by a flanking maneuver. However, he was able to call for support, scattering the X-Naut fleet and taking out their warships one by one. In the end, Grodus offered terms of surrender, but Omega stated he would accept none. He did allow Grodus to turn his ships and flee, saying after he was done he would send his army to destroy him. So the X-Nauts fled in utter defeat.
Last was Conrad, which Doctor Albert faced. The animator was on a specific ship Doctor Albert located, but as he moved to attack, he was met by Cagnorm II, who was able to maintain form even in the void of space. Doctor Albert made a few failed attempts to attack him, aiming for the shield generators keeping him stable. As things began to look grim, the Citadel of Ultima reactivated, blasting apart the bindings on Cagnorm II, and destroying the capitol ship. However, Conrad survived, stating he would be waiting for the Metal Army to slip up, and he would be waiting.
With the victory on Alinos, Omega immediately ordered all fleets to pursue the X-Nauts, wanting them wiped from existence completely. He took his place on the throne of the citadel, stating himself as new ruler.
Epilogue and Post Story
Omega made a short speech to himself, stating he had completed the mission of the Metal Army and reunited his people. Though he had won, it had not been easy, and came with a cost. He would allow those who had aided him and survived his betrayal to have a reprieve, but he would return to destroy them all.
On the X-Naut flagship, Grodus sat, overlooking a message in his memoir. He stated that he had failed his mission, and his pride, which had killed his good friend Stalvick, was now to consume him. All the while, images of his X-Nauts being devastated by the Metal Army flashed through his head. Overcome with hopelessness and grief, Grodus pulled out a small pistol, and committed suicide.
Several hours later, Omega's forces arrived and assaulted the remaining fleet. Not a single X-Naut survived the attack. Every ship was destroyed. Conrad returned to his planet, only to find it had been retaken, but he continued his schemes for domination. Grunty, Fawful, and Cackletta returned to their keep, still thought to be dead by Omega. Cackletta was able to retain her form, but Grunty had to be placed in a robotic suit. The Dark Perforation did indeed hear of Omega's betrayal, but a week after Alinos, they were destroyed by the Alliance of Worlds. Ein vanished, only to appear again after being held captive by a strange demonic power.
Omega was not heard from, Alinos abandoned and the keep, as well as the entire Metal Army, missing, no doubt to recover their numbers in the shadows of space.
Meanwhile, Sub and the remains of the Alliance of Worlds fleet came out of hyperspace in a dimly explored sector. Sub noticed strange readings on a moon below, and opted to investigate while their ships prepared to move back to Alliance space. Sub encountered a strange purple atmosphere-like bubble, filled with renegade, barely sane humans. The humans were hostile, and opened up on Sub as he entered.
Sub killed them off, noticing a Yoshi Newtype in a crystal-like cell. The cell exploded from psychic feedback, and Sub struggled to close the wormhole created by it. Nearby, Sub found a Necron hidden in a cell, shocked by its capture. A clone stated there was a central cell surrounded by the human rebels. The Alliance force overwhelmed the humans, taking the cell.
When Sub came up to the cell, he discovered a Morph inside, the very same race as him, though changed. A voice sounded to him, stating this creature was its doing. It was the one who controlled Athene, and this was the completion of a cosmic cycle. Sub was outraged, stating he beheld only an abomination. The voice stated even if he destroyed the specimens on this moon, it would do no good, for when the awaken, the universe would be forever changed.
Trivia
- The main plot of Omega is based off of Starcraft Episode VI: The Queen of Blades. This was to comply with the end of Grodus Rising, which used the format of Episode V.
- Originally, Sub intended for Slike to appear instead of Conrad. However, at the time he was unable to appear due to being locked up in Mobius Chaos Episode II
- Litera's song in Chapter 6 is both based off of the Lumberjack Song from Monty Python and Weird Al Yankovic's Truck Driving Song.
- The last chapter, Totus Vadum Termimus, is Latin for "All Shall End."
- Sub intended to use Shem in the final chapter and the epilogue. However, he forgot to use him, too concerned with the final battle.
- Chapter S was supposed to be in a hidden subfourm, locked with a password Athene said in Chapter 6. However, forum complexions prevented Sub from doing so, and the part was made public.
Connection To Other Stories
