Amphy the Ampharos, a character of Paper's, is an amateur magician that is almost always seen palling around with Christopher, who he considers his close friend. He either dons magician's hat (possibly with same-colored cape) or nothing at all. Amphy has been in a few stories to date, debuting story-wise in Grodus Rising as one of the Conscripts, and RP-wise in Nintendo Anecdote 3, which probably doesn't count anyway.
Him and Christopher tend to use underhanded tactics to get their money, as innocent as Amphy seems, although it's usually Christopher that actually thinks of those tactics, and he just tells Amphy to help out.

Pre-Grodus Rising
Grodus Rising
Him and Christopher came to the X-Nauts' aid as paid conscripts, two of the first four that were initially there. They, along with Eli and Paper, assisted Grodus' efforts until the end of the story. Amphy constantly made puns and rhymes at first, but got tired of it after such a long time and forgot to do it afterward.
Through his short career as a conscript, he met many people who he considers as friends, or at least comrades, that he would look forward to meeting again.
Topmonhit Story: The Great Creator and The Great Destroyer
Amphy performed a magic show near the beginning, apparently better than any time he tried before, while Christopher was trying to pickpocket the crowd for some good stuff. All of a sudden, Amphy declared he needed a volunteer from the crowd, and pointed out the person that Christopher was just about to steal from: Shi'un. Amphy was either oblivious to the fact that he blew his own partner's cover, or did it just to fluster him. Probably the former, but who knows.

Christopher

They're good friends that have been traveling for a long time, but they weren't always that close. Before Grodus Rising, the two were just business partners that agreed to travel together to help each other make money. Amphy was rather... poor, due to his "job" as a magician paying him the pokemon equivalent of about $4 per show. Amphy was always enthusiastic, which initially bothered Christopher, but he grew to Amphy eventually and started taking several missions with him. Amphy may get on Christopher's nerves, but he wouldn't desert Amphy by any means. If they separate, it's only because they're going to (try to) find each other again afterward.
They tell each other to shut up sometimes, but they are most certainly friends.
Trivia
- Amphy and Christopher are, for some odd reason, known for being in musical sections in some stories, despite the fact they aren't the best singers. It started in Grodus Rising, was done in Top Story, and was also done in Ius Mystery, all three times of which failed miserably.
- Amphy later went on to star on American Idol, where he went on to be in the final two. However, he was beaten swiftly by Chimera Experiment 1, who cited "Bella Swan" as a role model. Amphy cried.
