SummerSlam was a Pay-Per-View event produced by D-Generation XX. The show featured Superstars from Tuesday Night Massacre and Friday Night Mayhem, and it aired live on Sunday July 27th, 2008 at the MCI Center in Washington D.C. The show took on a Massacre vs. Mayhem theme and there was an assortment of Cross Brand Grudge matches after random match interferences over the previous few weeks on both weekly shows.
The main event of the evening saw Edge & Christian taking on the team of MVP and a mystery partner, later revealed to be Mike Vengeance.
