Princess Apricot Gisho is a former princess of Gisho Island. The island is now deserted, however, but her princess status remains in Gisho Castle on Donut Plains. Her boyfriend is Oshy Gisho, and her annoyance is usually Top Mon Hit. She has recently began making plans to repopulate Gisho Island, which began in Return to Gisho.

Top Story Bio

The princess of the former Gisho Island, she was just a baby when the meteor hit the island. She, Oshy, Oshy’s brothers, and Professor Oh Gee went on a boat the Gishos made (2 boats, actually) to get off the island. There was only time to make those 2. She was on the boat with Oh Gee when a big storm arrived and separated their boat with Oshy’s. Later, by a stroke of luck, she met Oshy when Oshy met Oh Gee, but first she was stuck in the past, kidnapped by the Shoshis. A ripoff of M&L: PIT happened, and when all was said and done, Oshy and Apricot finally got to meet. Not long after, Apricot got to know Oshy and the two fell in love. Considering Oshy’s father was actually the caretaker of the castle, Oshy would have seen Apricot a lot as a baby. Too bad he doesn’t recall any of it. Despite the kidnapping role, she can do battle somewhat. Although against Rexor she probably wouldn’t win. She lives in a castle that was constructed at Donut Plains.

History

Gisho Island

Apricot was born on and is the princess of a small island far out at sea called Gisho Island. She lived on it for the first two or three years of her life until an eccentric professor on the island, Professor Oh Gee, warned everyone about an approaching meteor. They built boats to leave, but only had enough time to build two boats. Oh Gee and Apricot rode in one while Apricot's caretaker, Duller's, sons, Yisho, Oshy, Sonic the Yoshi, Shadow the Yoshi, and Jalapeno, rode in the other. Unfortunately, a fierce storm arose one day while they were at sea, and the two boats were separated.

Trapped in Lemon-Lime Time

Apricot and Oh Gee eventually arrived at Yoshi's Island, their destination. They moved to Donut Plains and Oh Gee raised Apricot for years. At one point, Oh Gee built a modification to another Star World professor, E. Gadd's, time machine: It was now a time machine/coffeemaker. Apricot decided to go into the past of Gisho Island, but when she arrived, she found the Gisho Castle to be in ruins. Strange, purple yoshis called Shoshis appeared, as did their princess, Princess Shoshi. Apricot was attacked by the Elder Princess Shoshi, but was trapped inside the Pearl Star, a star used to power the time machine/coffeemaker. The younger Princess Shoshi, however, then attacked Apricot and kidnapped her.

After the Shoshis had all but conquered Gisho Island, Princess Shoshi put on a show where she dropped Apricot into a monster made of pudding called the Chocolate Pudding Monster. She was eventually ejected out of it after Princess Shoshi had disguised herself as Apricot, and Apricot was relocated to Shoshi Castle, the former Gisho Castle. After a while Oshy and Yisho, along with some other characters, showed up in the castle. Apricot knew Oshy by tales Oh Gee had told her, and when she learned they were collecting Pearl Star Shards, she was shocked. Before she could warn them of it, though, the castle was attacked by Princess Shoshi. The Shoshi mothership was shot down and crashed into the castle.

Princess Shoshi came in and tried to attack them, but was defeated; unfortunately it was then that Prince Rexor burst in and put all the Pearl star shards together, releasing the Elder Princess Shoshi, but she too was defeated. Apricot and the others returned to the present, but the remains of the Elder Princess Shoshi (now just an egg) took control of the present Rexor, forming Zombified Rexor, which kidnapped Apricot and brought her to Mt. Rugged. Zombified Rexor was defeated, but then the massive Shoshi Fathership appeared in the sky. Oshy, Yisho and the others were teleported onboard while Apricot returned to Toad Town, and watched as the Fathership was destroyed by some YB and Cyber Bell Vanguard ships, destroying the remaining Shroobs.

The Yoshi Bodyguards

Oshy came to visit Apricot soon after and they got to know each other. The two got to know each other and began to like one another, but for the vast majority of the YB, Apricot did not appear. Her next big appearance was in The Plot of Evil Dreams, where, after a large group of villains activated a machine that could control peoples' dreams all over Star World, Apricot, Oh Gee and Testube were hurried off the planet. After failing to stop them from stealing the Crystal Jiggy on Rareworld, however, which allowed them to activate their machine on other planets, they returned to Star World to stop the villains. Apricot remained onboard the ship with Oshy while the others went down to successfully defeat them.

About six months later Apricot was informed that Rexor had kidnapped Yoshi and two yoshis named Yoshio and Yoshiet, and that he demanded Rexor and a large sum of money. Surprisingly, they were able to talk Apricot into going along with this, although not planning to give her up, of course. Rexor's plan fell through when a giant fire eagle appeared to attack them, which, when defeated, yielded a strange red orb. Apricot returned to her castle, but wouldn't be safe for long.

A few months later Apricot noticed a strange emerald outside Gisho Castle. She called Oh Gee about it, who had found a similar one, called a Chaos Emerald. He would come by to study it later, but before he could come the castle was attacked by X-Nauts, who kidnapped her and stole the emerald. She was brought to their current base, Joke's End, but eventually it was broken into by the YB and former-YB, including Oshy (of course). Grodus had Apricot in a shield, however, and when the heroes showed up, he threatened to kill her. Rexor suddenly fell through the ceiling, crushing Grodus, and fought the heroes. Rexor was also defeated, and Apricot was saved. The seven Chaos Emeralds, however, had to be teleported across the cosmos when three different villains vied for possession of them.

Apricot was kidnapped once again around the start of fall, once more by Rexor. Rexor wanted the heroes to bring some orbs they had been collecting, and though they did bring the orbs, they were able to (sort of) defeat Rexor and also Dr. Tyrato. Apricot was saved, but while they were flying away they found they were heading straight for a large armada of ships. They were knocked out of the sky and fell to the sea, where they met the Slubes and Conrad, the latter of which wanted their orbs. The orbs were teleported away, and they had to go locate them all. In the end they were all found once more and given to the Slubes to bring back to their planet (which the orbs originally came from).

Team TOT Moves In

Apricot wouldn't appear for the next five months again until after Top's House was destroyed by an attack; this led Oshy to move in at Gisho Castle (where Oh Gee and Testube had also moved in earlier), but this also came with the other members of Team TOT: Top and Topper. Apricot would actually appear next in the Metal Wars Climax, where she, Oshy, Oh Gee and Testube escaped Gisho Castle to a civilian camp. She would also see Team TOT off in Pokemon Obscure Metal. After the Pokeworld failed invasion, Apricot would later help Shi'un move in to her castle since Shi'un lost her home during the C'tan Wars.

A couple months later when Power Box and Sunset came to visit for the first time since the YB disbanded, The Dark Perforation's army attacked Star World. Although Gisho Castle was used as the SWDF base for Dinosaur Island, there were relatively few attacks on the castle for a while, but eventually there was an attack. Apricot remained in the castle while the attack was fended off, which it eventually was. Apricot then also saw Oshy (and Top and Topper) off when they left to take the fight to The Dark Perforation itself, at its castle.

Apricot also appeared in the beginning of The Legend in the Stars, when Gisho Castle was half-destroyed by a falling ship, but it was quickly rebuilt while Team TOT escorted a shaman to Starborn Valley. Apricot also had a minor appearance in The Top Plot for Takeover when she mistook Dark Top for Light Top near the beginning; the castle was also partly destroyed when Whacko used The Super Microwave at one point.

Apricot's next big appearance would be in Return to Gisho, where she, Oshy, PB, Sunset and Sally left to Gisho Island to begin the process of reinhabiting it. Apricot wouldn't let Top or Topper, go, though, believing they would mess it up somehow. When they arrived at the former site of Gisho Town, they met Oh Gee, who had gone there a week earlier, but learned that Testube had disappeared. They went to look for him, but at the former site of Egg Village ran into a bunch of Shroobs. Even after defeating them, more showed up with Dr. Tyrato and a large egg. They retreated, but were chased to Deserted Plateau.

In the Rexeum, they were trapped and the large egg hatched, revealing a Dino Shroob Piranha which attacked them. It was defeated, but they then fell into the Deserted Caverns. After traveling through a long tunnel, they found themselves back at Gisho Town, which was now overrun by General Guy and his Shy Guy army. They battled them off, and found Oh Gee was now missing as well. Top and Topper showed up, along with Scorch, Tron Hey You, and Testube the former three which had snuck on the ship they used to get to the island.

Now that they had found Testube, they needed to find Oh Gee. It was late, so they slept for the night, but during the night Apricot was kidnapped by Rexor, who brought her to his recently-built Gisho Island castle at the exact location his old Gisho Island castle was built. The others eventually made it into the castle and battled against Rexor four times, eventually defeating him and saving Apricot. It was then they heard a voice call out to Oshy to come to Star Cavern, and there they found Oh Gee, safe. They also met Lavinia, who was revealed to be Oshy's mother, although she was only a spirit. She was there to warn Team TOT about an oncoming evil they would have to face. With that, they returned to Gisho Castle and prepared to go to the next step to reinhabit Gisho Island.

Personal Information

Personality

Apricot is a rather strong-willed princess whom, though wants peace, isn't above attacking someone if they're threatening her. She is nice to those around her if they're nice back, although she has some trouble tolerating oddness like Top and Topper. Although she is kidnapped occasionally (like Peach), this is not always the case for her. Unless it is absolutely necessary, she often stays out of battles if there is a safer place or if the foe is too powerful; she knows her limits, and will avoid trying to exceed them.

Appearance

Apricot is a pink yoshi with blue shoes, similar in color to Oshy's shoes but somewhat lighter.

Abilities

Yoshi abilities. That's... pretty much it. And she has the ability to be a princess.

Final Smash: Unknown

I haven't come up with one for Apricot yet.

Interactions with Other Characters

Top Mon Hit

Main Article: Top Mon Hit

Top is sometimes said to be the bane of Apricot's existance. While she loves Oshy, Oshy is best friends with Top, whom she can barely stand. She dislikes the fact he lives at Gisho Castle, and once asked if they could split Light and Dark Top, since the two sides were more serious than Top alone. She also refused to let Top come to Gisho Island in Return to Gisho. Generally, she just doesn't like him.

Oshy Gisho

Main Article: Oshy Gisho

Apricot and Oshy are in love and open about it, but it is unknown if they are ready to take it up to marriage (they are only 17, after all; this isn't the middle ages). They often spend time together, and it is only Oshy that allows Apricot to stand Top and Topper. If Apricot is ever kidnapped, she attributes Oshy to the saving of her, even if others were involved.

Topper Mon Hit

Main Article: Topper Mon Hit

Like Top, Apricot can hardly stand Topper, although she can stand him a little more than Top. She refused to let Topper come to Gisho Island in Return to Gisho, and mostly sees him as similar to Top.

Team Flash

Main Article: Team Flash

Apricot believes Team Flash to be a group of misfits and is someone annoyed by them, especially when they were willing to trade her to Rexor just so they could "finish their job" and get money.

Professor Oh Gee

Main Article: Professor Oh Gee

Apricot and Oh Gee are on good terms, especially since it was essentially Oh Gee who raised her. Like most young 'uns with their guardians, she thinks Oh Gee is rather strange sometimes and possibly kooky, but knows that he means well. Usually. She invited him to stay at Gisho Castle, and has strong ties with him from the years she was raised by him, but sometimes tries to separate herself from him as much as possible.

King Rexor

Main Article: King Rexor

If Top is the bane of Apricot's existance, Rexor is... something else. Whatever. Rexor oftentimes goes and tries to kidnap Apricot, although his exact reason is unknown. It is likely simply to trap Oshy and destroy him and his friends, and a lot less likely that it's much more than that. Either way, Apricot gets exhasperated at Rexor's kidnappings and wishes he would just go away and leave her and Oshy alone. She, like Oshy, thinks of him as a sort of brute.

Whacko

Main Article: Whacko

When Apricot invited Oshy to live at Gisho Castle, she obtained two unwanted tenants, Top and Topper. She also obtained a third, Whacko, whom she generally thinks of as okay except that he constantly tracks dirt in the castle, which she constantly finds irritating.

Power Box

Main Article: Power Box

Apricot recognizes PB's love of yoshis, and was happy to allow him to come live at Gisho Castle with Sunset. The two are friends, and Apricot enjoys his rather demire nature.

Shi'un

Main Article: Shi'un

Apricot and Shi'un are fairly good friends, and she allowed Shi'un to come live at Gisho Castle (in fact, it seems the only two people she didn't technically allow to come live are Top and Topper). She thinks the ROBs she brought are a little strange, but not as strange as Top is (mainly because they can clean up the dirt Whacko tracks). She can be sort of strange at times, but isn't too bad.

Trivia

  • Princess Apricot's first official appearance was in The Yoshi Bodyguards in Lemon Lime Time…, but this was only a cameo and she was unnamed and as-of-yet unrevealed. This was done to foreshadow her introduction.
  • Apricot, Oh Gee and Testube were rather small-time characters until Team TOT moved into Gisho Castle. They now appear in nearly every story with Team TOT in it.
  • Apricot is the first character of Topmonhit's in order that is female.
