Dr. Tyrato has a large, strange headgear on that keeps him alive, but also has a bullet bill blaster installed, along with a breaker beam.

Top Story Bio
Dr. Tyrato is Rexor's top scientist. Guy. Rex. Earlier in his life he had an accident in the lab, forcing him to wear his headgear which doubles as a weapon as it can fire Bullet Bills. He's semi-insane, but smarter than Rexor, but neither of their plans are all that great I suppose.
History
The Rexor Organization
Most of Dr. Tyrato's past prior to joining Rexor is unknown, as it is possible he changed his name. What is known is that he was a scientist working for an institution when an experiment went awry, nearly killing him. Special headgear was developed for him to allow him to survive, but he left the institution afterwards. It is also known that he had a partner at the time who was a Yoshi, but the yoshi's name is unknown.
Once Tyrato left, he signed up and joined the Rexor Organization. He developed a chemical that powered Rexor up for in The Plot of Evil Dreams, but would not make an actual appearance until the beginning of X-Chaos, where he revealed a giant robot he had built for Rexor to the heroes. Unfortunately, the robot had not been properly tested; specifically, it fell apart after bringing it out. Rexor and Tyrato simply battled against the heroes insted, but were defeated; they then learned that Princess Apricot Gisho had been kidnapped (which Rexor had planned to do).
Tyrato suggested they follow the heroes, and learned Apricot was kidnapped due to artifacts known as the Chaos Emeralds. Tyrato had read a little about them, and Rexor decided they should go find some. They never did, however, and eventually somehow found themselves on a ship in the atmosphere owned by Grodus. There, they found Oshy, his friends, Apricot, AND the kidnapper (Grodus). Rexor and Tyrato fought the heroes, but were defeated once more, and somehow disappeared from the ship back to their castle.
After some spying had been done on Oshy and his friends, Rexor and Tyrato learned of some orbs they had been collecting. Rexor went and kidnapped Apricot, then demanded they bring the orbs. Unfortunately, after Rexor's lava was frozen and he got stuck at the bottom of the hardened lava, Tyrato had to fight them himself; in the end, he was defeated. After Rexor got out and went after them as well, he, too, was defeated. Once he returned, he decided they should begin training and build a secret castle.
Rexor decided on Gisho Island, his home island, and work began on building the castle. Half a year later, they encountered the Shroobs, and struck a deal with them, with Tyrato building a translator into his headgear. Another half a year later, Tyrato and a group of Shroobs went to the Rexeum of Deserted Plateau to begin making a Dino Shroob Piranha pet for Rexor, starting from an egg. When the egg was fully formed, they carried it to Egg Village, only to find the Shroob buildings damaged; it was then they noticed Oshy, Apricot, Power Box, Sunset, and Sally. Tyrato told some Shroobs to distract them while they hurry the egg back to the Rexeum.
Although they returned to the Rexeum, Oshy and the others followed, so Tyrato had the Dino Shroob Piranha battle them. It was destroyed, however, so Tyrato and the Shroobs dropped them into the Deserted Caverns. Just then a platform crashed through the ceiling that had Top, Topper and Scorch on it, as well as Bowser! Tyrato battled the three heroes, and though he was defeated, obtained a message from the Shroobs saying they had kidnapped Bowser and could put a Shroob helmet on him. Tyrato escaped to Rexor's castle to tell him the news, and Rexor went out to kidnap Apricot.
Oshy and the others followed to the castle, and defeated Shrowser and then fought against Rexor. They defeated Rexor, then defeated his undead form, Dry Rexor. Tyrato and the Shroobs then used a ray gun to revive Rexor and make him ten times larger and more powerful, but even this Rexor was defeated. Tyrato ran to Rexor and told him they should escape, as the Shroobs have already abandoned them, and so they did and returned to Rexor's main castle.

Non-Canon Appearances

Rexor and Dr. Tyrato appeared in act three of Nintendo Anecdote 3, where they possessed the Triforce of Power. They lost it, though. Someone took it from them.
Personal Information
Personality
Dr. Tyrato is a fairly scientific person (or Rex), but won't always think something out first. He seems to be fairly loyal to Rexor, and will listen to him if he agrees with him. He may be less evil than Rexor, but his intentions are every bit the same. Although he often will go into a fight, he is actually more accustomed to staying back and letting others battle. Still, if the situation calls for it, he will fight, and use the weapons in his headgear liberally.
Appearance
Dr. Tyrato looks mostly like a normal rex, save for his mechanical wings (which are a bit larger than normal Rex wings) and headgear which looks a little bit like a hamburger for some reason, with the "buns" being red, placed on top of a square, orange plate that goes over his head down to a little above his eyes. A visor also goes over his right eye, which has never been seen (it's said he's missing his eye).
Abilities
Most of Dr. Tyrato's abilities lie in his headgear; he is very rarely seen using any normal Rex abilities.
Final Smash: Bullet Bill Blast
A Bullet Bill Blaster comes out on the top of Dr. Tyrato’s headgear and begins firing Bullet Bills everywhere. Black will home in on the nearest foe, red will home in on the one with highest damage, and purple will home in on the one with lowest damage.
Headgear
Dr. Tyrato's headgear differs in multiple ways from Fawful's. While it has no jetpack function, it can open up to reveal a built-in cannon that can fire bullet bills, as well as fire regular bullets from the side. It has an installed Breaker Beam on it (although Dr. Tyrato calls it a Beaker Beam), and can also fire shockwaves of energy out from it. Its primary purpose, however, is to keep Dr. Tyrato alive due to a horrendous accident from his past.
It also looks kinda like a hamburger for some reason.
Residence
Dr. Tyrato is thought to live in Rexor's Castle.
Interactions with Other Characters
Team TOT
- Main Article: Team TOT
Dr. Tyrato dislikes all three members of Team TOT. Although he seems to dislike them somewhat less than Rexor, he still has disdain for all three and every time Rexor is at odds with them, Tyrato is as well. Although Tyrato fully supports Rexor's plans against them, he does feel they should focus more on furthering Rexor's position of power.
Princess Apricot Gisho
- Main Article: Princess Apricot Gisho
Dr. Tyrato bears no true ill will towards Princess Apricot, and only sees her kidnappings as a way to lure Team TOT to them. He sees her mostly as any other yoshi, only more important to Team TOT (or at least Oshy). He will attempt to stop Team TOT from getting to her if he must, simply to keep them from disrupting whatever plan Rexor came up with.
King Rexor
- Main Article: King Rexor
Dr. Tyrato's employer and friend is King Rexor, king of the Rexes (of course). The two share a bond of good friends, though it may not be always shown, as their relationship is usually seen as professional. There are a few occasions, however, where Rexor and Tyrato are shown as friends. Although Tyrato may get a few occasions of abuse from Rexor, overall he is treated very well as Rexor's right-hand man (or Rex). Dr. Tyrato respects Rexor very much, even if he occasionally seems to not have a clue. Still, Tyrato believes in Rexor's skill and follows him to the end.
Power Box
- Main Article: Power Box
For some reason, Dr. Tyrato doesn't seem to like PB very much. The reason seems to stem from PB's love of yoshis; Tyrato sees this as pointless, and seems to think PB is strange and can get annoyed by this, as Tyrato doesn't seem to be fond of yoshis. Other than that, he doesn't like PB due to being friends with Oshy.
Sneezier
- Main Article: Sneezier
Being friends with Team TOT, Tyrato dislikes Sneezier of course, but also finds his scientific style bizarre. Although Sneezier may be more advanced, Tyrato is nowhere near copying him and would prefer to come up with machines that he would hope would surpass Sneezier's.
Trivia
- Topmonhit had considered making Dr. Tyrato a Fawful Dino after learning of such creatures, but decided he had been around too long to just suddenly change his species.
- Originally a Rexerer was considered in place of Dr. Tyrato, in the likes of Kamek or Kammy, but instead a scientist was chosen to be less like Bowser.
