In the game Super Paper Mario for Nintendo Wii, an geeky enemy named Francis mentions a website where he posts photos of his new butterfly.  This name of this website was digibutter.nerr. So, a few days after the release of the game, a few digibutter websites began to popup. One of these was digibutter.nerr.biz, created on April 16th, 2007. A message board was quickly setup with forums to discuss all of Francis' interests. Francis made the first few posts (including shots of Francine, his newly captured butterfly) to get the site started off right. In just a few days, a flood of people began signing up.  Characters from the game and other parts of the Nintendo universe joined, many role-playing very convicingly. What is amazing is that all of this literally sprung up overnight, no advertising, no referals from other sites. Just simple google searches for digibutter.nerr

July 26 was a historic day for Digibutter. Because of the outbreak of spammers, flamers, and trolls, the site's Administrator, [[Members/Francis | Francis]], formed the Mod Squad to help stop the seemingly nonstop amount of flame wars that were taking place. The six members who were promoted to Moderator status were none other than [[Popple|Popple]] (who was the first Moderator on the forum), [[Members/Plastic Mario|Plastic Mario]], [[Members/Chaos Dimentio|Chaos Dimentio]], [[Members/TotalSpaceshipGuy3|TotalSpaceshipGuy3]], [[Members/Francine|Francine]],  and [[Members/Mister I|Mister I]].

On November 12, 2007, [[Members/TotalSpaceshipGuy3|TotalSpaceshipGuy3]] resigned his position as moderator, stating if the community ever needs him, he'll be back in a flash. He is the first, and so far, only moderator to lose his/her status, albeit voluntarily. Fortunately, he has since returned to the force.

Nintendo released the 3rd installation in the Paper Mario, Super Paper Mario. It instantly began to race up the charts, becoming one of the 'best' games in history. Was it the clever plot? July 26 was a historic day for Digibutter. On November 12, 2007, TotalSpaceshipGuy3 resigned his position as moderator, stating if the community ever needs him, he'll be back in a flash. He is the first, and so far, only moderator to lose his/her status, albeit voluntarily. Fortunately, he has since returned to the force.
