Subsourian Ereshkigal

From Yb Timeline

(Redirected from Sub)

"The planet of Mekkai is ravaged. Its population has fled or died under the foot of the Metal Army. Its cities are smashed and burning. It’s very ground is utterly tainted with foul constructs and abominations. There is nothing left. Nothing but soulless automatons... And the valiant forces of good that will destroy them. In this dark place, in this dark hour, we will stand against the forces of the darkness. And they will know... That not even here on this desecrated, infernal rock, will we suffer the existence of evil.

Not now. Not ever"

Subsourian Ereshkigal (or Sub) is a Morph, an immortal humanoid being artificially created by dark magic long ago. He is currently a little under five thousand years of age, having a long and winding history with Star World. Sub was a former Yoshi Bodyguard, commanding their clone army, but now commands from the Star World Defensive Forces since their merger. Sub is depicted as a tall, thin humanoid with black hair, pale skin, and golden eyes; all of which trademarks of his race. He is usually clad in sky blue robes, though he has been seen bearing Yoshi Bodyguard ARC Trooper armor. Subsourian is one of the oldest RP characters still active, having appeared in the Yoshi Military three years before the The Yoshi Bodyguards were created. He regularly appears in Topmonhit's stories and comics, and is one of the major players in the Metal Wars saga. He is on friendly terms with most Yoshi Bodyguards, although he has earned the disdain and distrust of many.

History

Creation and Escape

Subsourian was created around 2200 BZ on the continent of Elibe. Nergal the Madman, a powerful practitioner of dark magic, had begun to create an army of magically gifted artificial humanoids to aid him in obtaining the power over the exiled dragon race. To test the limits of his creations, a handful of these so-called "Morphs" were granted the emotions and personalities. Subsourian was one these. Soon after his creation, a band of heroes from the neighboring country of Lycia raided Nergal's lair at the Dread Isle, killing Nergal and the bulk of his morphs. Subsourian was one of the few survivors to flee the destruction of the gate, taking with him his master's spellbook, the Twilight Lexicanium.

Subsourian fled to the mainland of Elibe where he was perused by bounty hunters searching for the last remnants of Nergal's army. After a war broke out on the mainland between the countries of Bern and Lycia, Subsourian fled the continent altogether, finding refuge in a distant land with a band of mercenaries. There he learned the art of war and basic tactics, and aided them in overthrowing a cruel dictator in their kingdom. However, in the last days of the conflict, Subsourian was forced to use his master's ultimate spell, Ereshkigal, to save his allies. The spell worked, but Subsourian, unable to control the wormhole that the spell former, was hurled into the vortex of dark mana. He was assumed dead.

Out of the Abyss

When Sub used Ereshkigal and opened up a vortex of dark mana, he was cast into the Abyss, an area where all dark mana stems from. Sub was sustained in a stasis there for two thousand years, locked between space and time. It was rumored that the saturation of mana during this period is the reason for his immortality, causing his aging to cease while other Morphs experienced accelerated aging.

His sleep eventually ended, and he appeared on the planet Star World. Deep in the Koopa Kingdom, a group of Koopa mages were testing uses for a newly discovered branch of dark magic. One of the spells they experimented with tore a vortex through a nearby town, destroying it and its population. This vortex was strong enough to rip Subsourian out from the Abyss and into Star World.

For about five years, Subsourian wandered, disguising himself as a Goomba, considered the lowest of the racial caste of the Koopa Kingdom. A time he was conscripted to join the Koopa Kingdom's military and served in their magi regiments, where he continued honing his skill in the arcane arts. Sub was forced to fight under the command of the Koopa king, Ludwig von Koopa I.

Sub and his regiment were charged with attacking a small tribe of Yoshis. The Yoshis, who were in a primitive stage of societal development, were virtually helpless against the Koopa onslaught. When King Ludwig ordered the slaughter of a tribe whom they had been allied with, Sub was one of many who defected to the tribe to fight against Ludwig.

This defection outraged King Ludwig, and he sent his massive naval fleets of longboats to assault the traitors. Sub, his defected human ally Pentance, and the Yoshi leader, Yoshimire, all formed together to defend the island from the attack. Thus, the first Yoshi-Koopa War began.

Yoshi-Koopa War I

The Yoshis rallied together, and Sub helped lead a group of warriors against the Koopa attack. The battle was fierce, and cost many lives on both sides. In the end, however, the Yoshis prevailed, pushing back the fleets. Sub advised a Yoshi counter-offensive to the Koopa mainland, which ended in a complete failure. The fleets were unable to even land on the mainland before being beaten back by ballista fire.

In the next three years, the two engaged in fighting for the Yoshi Islands, both sides forming alliances with the various tribes inhabiting the islands. In the end, Yoshimire was able to unite the Donut Plains under his control, while the Koopa Kingdom still held the outlying islands near their territory.

Through the course of the war, Subsourian, who was now one of two Supreme Generals who advised Yoshimire, had overseen the development of some primitive magi-technology. Two of these inventions were major boons to the war effort; one was the mass portal network, with the ability to instantaneously warp entire groups from one set location to another, allowing for swift army movements beneath the very feet. The other was a manafire bomb, a primitive bomb which was able to destroy heavy fortifications of stone and iron.

While Yoshimire was beginning gain a foothold in the Koopa mainland, Subsourian sent in specialized mages to set up an entry portal on a naval vessel near the Koopa's capitol building, the Koopa Keep. Then, Subsourian himself lead in a night raid and detonated several manafire bombs the castle complex, destroying the Koopa Keep. However, King Ludwig survived, and pushed his naval forces deeper into Yoshi territory, setting up a large structure called Koopa Tower as his main base of operations.

The Starlite Invasion and the Ascension of the Yoshis

YK War I was called to an end in 100 BZ, when several space fairing transports landed on Star World. With them came the Starlites, a hyper advanced race from the planet Starel, who had sent a force to scout out Star World for its occupation. The military force took the Koopa Tower, and drove the Koopa forces into disarray. They then began to push into Yoshi territory, taking island after island.

In a desperate attempt at victory, the Yoshis and the Koopas allied together. However, the technological advancements of the Starlites prevented them from gaining ground against them. Still, what the allied factions lacked in technology, they made up in magic. Subsourian and the head Koopa mage, Davrino, collaborated on new advancements in magi-tech to hold back the tide of the Starlite advance.

Subsourian’s first direct command against the Starlites was on a small naval port on the Donut Plain’s mainland. While they had survived the initial attack, the Starlites managed to launch a nuclear device at the defenders, completely annihilating it and its occupants. Subsourian and several defenders escaped, but were injured. Subsourian was out of the battle for several months afterwards due to sustained injuries, and unable to take part in the war’s final months.

However, drawn to this incident were the Axis, an alliance of worlds devoted to destroying the Starlites. With the Starlite presence strengthening on Star World, the Axis supported the Yoshis and the Koopas in their assault. In the end, the Elite fortress island was destroyed, and their presence was pushed off of Star World. In the final battle, however, Yoshimire mysteriously went missing. Some reports say he was killed in the last bombardments that devastated the headquarters. No one knows his true fate to this day.

After the battle, the Yoshi and Koopa nations were offered massive advancements in technology if they would ally with the Axis and aid their war effort against the Starlites. The Koopas refused, not wanting any more to do with the war. The Yoshis, now under the rule of Subsourian, took the offer. Subsourian, however, was unpopular among many of the allied tribes, due to him not being a Yoshi himself and being a former member of the Koopas. Many did not trust his power-hungry nature. His popularity waned further when he made two decrees; the Yoshi tribes would be organized into an Imperium with himself as emperor, and he was to take the tribes of Yoshis and colonize a new world just for their race. He gave the tribes a choice; go with him and accept his rule or stay. Out of the twelve allied tribes, three took the offer.

The three tribes them boarded several Axis supercarriers gifted to them, and departed from the planet. The tribes that abandoned their homeworld were deemed "Dark Yoshis," a term used in mythology over the events of the first war, while the Yoshis themselves took on the title of “Imperial Yoshis.” They would not be fully out of touch with Star World, as they left several communication lines and probes to check on the situation of their old homeworld.

The Reign of Subsourian

The Settling of Greenflame

Around the year 10 BZ, the Imperial Yoshis had found a planet to settle on. This was a largely barren plot of land on the fringe of the galaxy known as Tarsonis. Tarsonis was an oxygen rich planet, abundant in minerals but lacking in major floria, and filled with psychically sensitive hostile creatures. Subsourian ordered the ships to settle near the planet's primary ocean, and began to found a metropolis with the help of the Axis engineers. Within seven years, the city of Greenflame was fully functional, one of the first civilizations in the local subsector.

The Yoshi race was at first leery of Subsourian’s sudden rise to power, but a small time of prosperity after the city’s founding lead to an acceptance of the new Emperor. He sought to help the Imperial Yoshis establish a new life, using Tarsonis's large mineral reserves to trade with the Axis.

The Yoshis were not the only race in Greenflame. After several years, the Durians, a race distantly related to the Zoras of Hyrule, sought new a homeland after their planet was destroyed by the Starlites. Subsourian set up a large aquatic sector of Greenflame in the ocean itself. A mass influx of Durians swept in, making them the second largest ethnicity in the nation.

Subsourian had also fulfilled his side of the bargain to the Axis in forming a fighting force out of the population he had, known as the Imperial Forces. The Imperials were not large in number like most of the races in the Axis, but developed advanced magi-technology, such as the Nightwind and the Metal Titans. Subsourian appointed Gigey Foxer and Mia Takahashi to lead the Imperials, and even set off into battle on his own in some circumstances.

The Axis Wars

Not much is known on the Axis Wars, other than it had spanned since nearly 200 BZ, when the Starlites first obtained space travel and the ability to conquer other worlds. Their leader was Skylar Luyez, a Starlite with an extended lifespan. He sought to bring the entire universe under his rule, and for the time, he had the resources to do it.

It was about this time the Vhozon were recovering from their near annihilation by the Necrons, preventing them from stepping in. Also weakened at this point were the Celestial Architects, whose numbers were dwindling close to extinction near the time of rise of the Starlites. Due to the Chozo's nonviolent nature, and the Starlite's distance from them, conflict between the two was minimal. With no powers in their way, the Starlites would have trampled through the known universe. However, invaded planets banded together, forming the Axis, with the express purpose of blocking the Starlite advance.

The Imperials contributions in the field of arcane studies were immense. Several battles documented showed old tribal spells created by Yoshis back on Star World being used in battle. Also documented were the massive Battlecruiser warships, and the five Metal Titans created by the Imperial Force.

The Axis pushed back the Starlites to their home world of Starel, and proceeded with a land invasion. Subsourian himself headed the attack in his capitol ship, the Nightwind II. The battle was an immense failure, costing millions of lives. Subsourian himself only barely excaped the conflict when his ship was destroyed.

Starel did fall about three years later, when their Luyez was assassinated by one of his own officers and the entire empire broke into civil war. The Axis took this chance to strike, and cleared up the remaining forces. The Axis disbanded, dividing up the Starlite Empire and settling back into their own nations.

The Second and Third Yoshi-Koopa Wars

While the Axis wars began to draw to a close, Subsourian wondered what became of the Yoshi's homeworld of Star World. He sent scouts to restablish communication with the relays there. The scouts reported a grim realization: King Ludwig von Koopa I, who had been prolonging his life through a mixture of magic and Starlite technology, had reclaimed several Starlite weapons and began to use them on a conquest of the planet. Subsourian convened with his council, and after a heated discussion they agreed to send Imperial troops to Star World under General Mia Takahashi to quell the imbalance of power. YK War II was declared

The Koopas, though equipped with these new technologies, had very little experienced in their use. Subsourian first ordered the destruction of their moon base, and then focused in on King Ludwig's stronghold, the jungle island of Keyhaul Key. General Takahashi bombed the island with napalm charges, destroying Ludwig's massive naval force in one fell stroke. Ludwig and his officers just barely escaped, and called for a ceasefire. The King then made his way inland, his naval power crushed.

After a lull in the fighting of about two years, YK War III broke out when Subsourian ordered a strike at the Koopa Empire's mainland, seeking revenge for the king's past crimes while their enemies had their guard down. The Imperials managed to make it to their new underground base camp, and in a final battle at their new keep, defeated Ludwig’s armies.

Ludwig's Starlite technology was destroyed, and the Koopa Empire reeled in defeat for centuries to come. The anti-Yoshi sentiment between the two only grew as King Ludwig passed on and his decedents took up the throne, leading to some conflict between the native Yoshi tribes and the Koopa throne.

Subsourian vs Sneezier

Durring the ceasefire between YK Wars II and III, the two leaders, Ludwig and Subsourian, kept in constant contact. A sort of respect was formed between the two, while some records even indicate a friendship (which contradicts the invasion that sparked YK III).

Two years into the ceasefire, Crown Prince Ludwig, a decedent of King Ludwig from the era of the 2000s had stolen a time machine created by Professor Egad and went back in time to rally two famed mythical leaders to help the Koopa cause. He deceived them both, making them believe that the Koopa Kingdom and Yoshi Island was on the brink of extinction, and the Mushroom Kingdom was oppressing the remainder of the world. Subsourian and Ludwig came back with the Crown Prince to help him fight for the future Koopa Kingdom.

Their orders were simple: they were to hold a space station against the invading armies. The station, unbeknown to the two, was a superweapon targeting Yoshitroplis, the modern day captiol of the united Yoshi Islands. Mexous Sniffin Sneezier and PowerBox were sent in to disarm this weapon, and faced Subsourian in combat. After a tough battle, Sub was faced with far superior technology, and was defeated. Crown Prince Ludwig was later to follow, allying with his future counterpart to fight Sneezier.

Then, mid-battle, Bowser revealed his plan, unknowingly overheard by Sub and King Ludwig. Sneezier and PB fought Bowser, but were losing until the two past rulers stepped in on their side, defeating Bowser and destroying the station. Sneezier and PowerBox escaped, and Subsourian and Ludwig were thought dead in the resulting explosion. However, the two escaped back to the past in Egad's time machine, promptly destroying it to ensure no more tampering with the past.

The Foxer Coup and Exile

Back on Tarsonis, Subsourian's growing power and numerous failures were staring to dissuade the populace. Several attempts were made on his life, none successful. However, some of his own core cabinet were worried about his rule destroying their race, especially since considering his seemingly immortal life. They feared that there needed to be a change in the seat of Emperor, lest Greenflame fall into a corrupt, eternal dictatorship. This, mixed with negative opinions regarding the losses in the Axis Wars and the intervention of Star World lead to an event known as the Foxer Coup.

While the Imperial Forces were still en route to Greenflame from Star World and Sub was alone at his throne, General Gigey Foxer took his Honor Guard and caused a riot in the city. General Foxer himself faced Emperor Subsourian in combat, defeating him. However, as an act of kindness, he allowed him to leave with a group of his honor guard and key loyalists. Sub boarded the Nightwind III, allowing to crew to go into cold sleep. Gigey Foxer disabled Sub's hyperdrive, and sent him on a long exile.

Subsourian drifted in space, an exile starting at 240 AZ. He remembered Star World, the land he had once called home, and slowly began to drift toward the planet with few forces little he had. The time was humbling for Sub, and gave him time to reflect on his own magical studies.

Almost two thousand years later, the Nightwind III encountered a Confederation of Universal Evil vessel. The Confederation pirates ordered them to be boarded, but Sub refused and fired on their ship. Eventually, the Yoshi Bodyguards intervened, saving the Nightwind III. Subsourian was grateful, and having known some of the members from the time travel incident, was offered a position as a Yoshi Bodyguard. Seeing little alternative, Subsourian and his crew accepted.

Service in the Yoshi Bodyguards

Pre-Dark Age and the Rise of the Clone Army

Sub's service before the [Dark Ages]] was primarily as a tactician and advisor, and most of the time away from the primary group of Yoshi Bodyguards. Sub worked hard against the COUE and Darkcorp remnants, organizing Yoshi Bodyguard honor guard and on-loan Star World Defensive Forces squads to fight against oncoming fleets. His actual battle service was limited, though he did serve in several campaigns on the frontlines, three battles even pitting him against General Mysterio.

Then, on the planet Yoth, Supreme Commander Mack unleashed a new weapon to turn the tide against the oppressive dictatorship controlling the planet. The Yoshi Bodyguard Clone Army was revealed to the full organization, and, though the battle for Yoth for which they were designed ended in defeat for the Bodyguards, Subsourian and Sneezier built upon this newly founded clone army with their magic and technical skills. Subsourian in particular, trained a majority of newer clones in combat arts, working in ways to incorporate the same sort of magic that created him into the cloning process, as well as a creating his own personal honor guard, Dark Squadron.

Using Mexous's Lunar Star Technology Institute fund, Subsourian also ordered the creation of a new space fleet for the clone army. Several obsolete SWDF and Cyber Bell Vanguard capitol ships were reconditioned and refitted with better weapons and armor, including Subsourian's own Nightwind III, remade into the Nightwind IV.

For a while, all seemed at peace. The COUE battles began to turn to their favor, Darkcorp had been all but wiped out, and the Yoshi Bodyguards became a force to rival the very Star World Defensive Forces.

The Dark Ages

When the Yoshi Bodyguard's primary leader, Yoshilier, was killed by his son, Summer Yoshilier, the organization was scattered. Summer then summoned a group of sealed demons, commanded by the demon prince Vaufendor, to destroy the descendents of his enemies. The remaining Yoshi Bodyguards scattered from the headquarters, either staying to fight or hiding in different sections of the universe. Subsourian stayed behind to defend the headquarters, when a demon attack overran the clone fortifications. In a last ditch effort, Subsourian fell back into a warp portal and set the device to overload. The resulting explosion leveled part of the YB Headquarters, and destroyed many an invader.

Sub and the remaining clones ended up on an unknown ice world, when Space Pirates captured Sub and his group. The team was thrown on slaver vessels and disarmed. Sub activated the emergency signal in his Platinum Shroom, but the remaining YBs were too caught up in their own affairs to respond. Seeing no hope, Sub allied himself with an alien race also enslaved, the Lost, in order to escape. Sub and the Lost High Templar Trema both managed to liberate a Lost carrier, and almost escaped, when the Space Pirates brought in reinforcements.

However, in the nick of time, ARC Yoshililer and the Nightwind IV, along with two other capitol ships, moved in to support them. The group had broken from their evacuation pattern to help Sub. Sub accepted their aid, and, with his new fleet, headed straight back to Star World.

Subsourian first began to set up base camp at the edge of a demon portal in the remains of the Koopa Mainland, hoping to stem the demon prince Vaufendor's influence on the world. Sub held out against the first few waves of abominations that came from the portal, when Summer, now known as Lord Fazar, noticed his presence. He launched a massive energy attack, devastating Subsourian and Trema's men. The Yoshi Bodyguard remains were forced to fall back.

However, Sub was not done. He moved into the ruins of Yoshioplis , and a fierce battle against Fazar's Black Dragonflight ensued. In the end, Sub had forced the dragons to retreat and took the city for his own. First, he attempted to break the dimensional barrier between Fazar's realm and his own existence, but failed, instead unleashing a demon wave on his own base. Sub then decided it would be best to track down the remaining Yoshi Bodyguard members, though with the HQ gone, the PS tracking systems would not function as usual. Sub had to rely on what radar they had,a nd noted a presence of several Yoshi Bodyguards in a forest on the Mushroom Kingdom mainland. He wasted no time, and dispatched the Nightwind IV along with several search parties and assault teams to the forest, in hopes to save some of Star World's heroes.

Sub sent out several recon teams, himself heading the primary one, and set the Nightwind IV in orbit above the forest. His group first encountered Mexous Sneezier, who told him he was fine, but could not help him due to issues he was dealing with on his own. Sneezier warned him of the COUE presence on Star World before running off. Sub found traces of other members, but the only other Yoshi Bodyguard that was found was Comet, who was near death from poisoning and injuries. Sub took him back to the Nightwind IV, just as a recon team uncovered the location of Anubis Yoshilier, heir to the leading role of the Yoshi Bodyguards, in engagement with Fazar. Sub took this opportunity to strike, and just before Anubis was to be defeated, Sub airdropped several armored units to the location. Fazar and Anubis were both teleported away at the last second by Vaufendor, leaving Sub alone. Comet was brought back to health, but wanted to continue on with a mission of his. Sub granted him a small stuntfighter, and let him go off for his own objectives.

Back at Yoshioplis, Sub encountered a massive dark energy signature. Fearing the worst, Sub evacuated his forces to orbit. Just then, Vaufendor’s masters, the Dark Titans summoned themselves, releasing an energy that corroded away all metal. Subsourian's forces attempted to bombard the demonic entities from orbit, but no avail. Sub and Trema both decided to go in ceramic drop pods, and went down to face the Titans with a team of Lost warriors. On the surface, Sub met with Scorch, who was helping a refugee hub in its defense. Scorch tagged along, telling Sub of a Fazar sighting west of them. Sub met with Anubis and a near death Fazar once again, but this time with the demon Vaufendor. Sub was to deliver the killing blow to Fazar, when Anubis stopped him, and asked him to leave lest he cause more trouble. Sub obliged, saying he had a larger target to engage, and warning Vaufendor that he would "cut the puppet from his strings." Sub and Trema then went to face the Titans themselves.

At first, the battle went as planned. Trema redirected the Titans' attacks to one another using psychic shields, and Sub struck at the weakened Titans. However, all of that changed when the Titans merged. A single blast of the combined Titan's power tore through the Lost defenders, and killed Trema. Sub, seeing no other option, unleashed a full Ereshkigal on the Titans. The blast was massive, and crippled the combined Titan for a few minutes, but put Sub to the very brink of death. Scorch carried Sub back to the refugee camp, where he did not wake until Anubis killed the Titans, Vaufendor, and the Eater of Worlds, of whom the Titans had summoned to end all life. Afterward, Sub and Scorch were found by the SWDF recovery teams that secured the caravan, and taken to a military hospital.

Post-Dark Ages and Reformation of the Yoshi Bodyguards

Sub was put in intensive care for a long period after the Dark Ages, and eventually came out of the strain induced coma he was put in. However, he was still weakened, and for a time, would break down into coughing fits at random moments. He had only a special potion of Snape Grass Mixture that could ease his pain. In a few months, Sub was able to return to a reformed Yoshi Bodyguards, and saw to the founding of New Yoshioplis, a new capitol city for the Yoshi Islands.

In later missions, such as the fight against the demon-form of Anubis, Sub provided air support and transportation, though too weak to actually participate in battle. It wasn't until Phazon hit Star World that Sub came back into action, fighting off several infestations of the substance, including a reformed Titan corpse.

Sub had missed several other encounters with enemies in favor of reforming the clone army, which was all but destroyed in the Dark Ages. With the help of Sneezier and Scorch, Sub brought the army back up to strength, and began to bring the fight back to the COUE, which remained even after its seeming defeat in the Dark Ages. Sub first tested the reformed army on Pokeworld, when Team Rocket began to play a trump card against the local population by mutating Pokemon, resulting in Dark Danny.

Sub really came back into action when Anubis came to Hyrule, a Federation no-tech zone. Sub was delayed due to political issues, but flew in to meet the group before they went to their doom on Koholint Island, the fabled island of dreams. In the process, Sub was hit by a storm, and crashed into the ocean. Sub contacted Sunset through a spirit transfer, but was cut off when the massive beast, Angler, devoured his ship. He was freed by the Yoshi Bodyguards on the island, and helped gain back the instruments, fighting a mirror image of himself in the process. In the end, Fazar was once again defeated, and Sub escaped with the rest of the Yoshi Bodyguards.

Years of Chaos

After Sub came back to Star World, there was very little time he was not busy with a mission. First, bounty hunters of the Federation raided the Yoshi Bodyguard Headquarters. Sub defended the building, and teamed up with Federation hero Samus Aran in investigating a strange reading in the Alimbic Cluster. Sub and Scorch faced down the bounty hunters, and finally fought against Gorea. Then, when a strange shadow descended on Star World and caused an illusion of the Koopa Nation attacking Yoshi’s Island, Sub took to the defensive, holding the HQ against the illusions.

Sub then fought on Pokeworld again, ending Team Rocket's genetic manipulation activities with the strong fist of the clone army. Sub then was warned of a Chozo derelict floating outside of Star World, which ended up being a massive prison world on a collision course with Star World. The prison harbored a fusion of the Metroid and X parasites, as well as the mad Chozo who created them. Sub and the Yoshi Bodyguards set the core to overload, and evacuated the planet with a Federation garrison.

When Sub returned to Star World, he found that a strange group of beings from Sneezier's future had invaded with force. Sub worked with the SWDF and the Yoshi Bodyguards to fight the Plasmocs back, activating the Ion Cannon Defensive Network to destroy several of their ships before their soldiers became possessed with a demonic presence. However, the Yoshi Bodyguards were more than a match for the demons, and Sub himself aided in their final defeat.

Sub participated in a smaller known event where an online game began to manipulate reality, but was called away for issues against the COUE. It had turned out that the Federation had acted against Mysterio with the help of Coshi and Plasshi, and defeated their forces for good on Ryshi. Sub was ready to withdraw the clone army back to Star World, but then a surge of enemies caused the Yoshi Bodyguards to go on high alert.

The Metal Wars and Chaos Abounds

As soon as the Metal Army sent their first waves against the universe, the Yoshi Bodyguard Clone Army was mobilized, as well as the SWDF and Federation forces. Sub himself had convinced the core Yoshi Bodyguards to help him escort a group of scientists to the location of a fallen Metal Titan from the Imperial Yoshi period, once thought to be destroyed. After fighting through Ork, Metal Army, and Necron alike, and after a short alliance with the Vhozon, the Yoshi Bodyguards had finally claimed the Metal Titan as their own.

Afterward, Sub participated in several frontline skirmishes in the Metal Wars before being called back to Star World. Several factions hostile to Star World had allied, and sections of Star World were put under eternal night, where the population was mind controlled as they slept. Sub fought off what forces he could, but was overrun. Top then came in with the rest of the Yoshi Bodyguards, and the group raided the villain's fortress, very nearly being defeated, but saved at the last second by an unknown force.

Soon after, Sub returned to the frontlines of the war, fighting in the Second Battle of Finichia, holding back the Metal Army from the Metal Titan. He then pushed to Sol, where he was almost killed when his Pelican crashed into the lava surface of the planet. Sub teleported out, and the force fell back.

Sub was then called back to support the Yoshi Bodyguards in a legal manner, having a large say in the politics involving the Yoshi Bodyguards on a planetary stage. Subsourian was called to hold a trail of Topmonhit, who was accused to theft of several powerful relics. Top was found guilty, but both Sub and Top's Lawyer realized the jury was under a mind control. After a long journey, Sub himself helped face down Cackletta and restore the jury to their proper mindset.

Sub didn't return to the frontlines this time, however, as a stint with the chaos emeralds caught his attention. Sub and the Yoshi Bodyguards hunted down Grodus and the X-Nauts, trailing them and reclaiming the emeralds. Sub and Top then took a group to find one hidden in the Pit of 100 Trials, retrieving it. Sub was to be shipped back to the frontlines, when an icy plague came over Star World, putting the planet in an Ice Age. Sub aided the Yoshi Bodyguards in finding their fallen comrade, Sneen, in Underwhere afterlife, and restoring balance to Star World's ecosystem.

Sub was then called back to Star World to legally defend the Yoshi Bodyguards for their actions on Chronis. After unable to deny the accusations that Yoshi Bodyguard clone troopers had willingly destroyed SWDF forces, and that they were not fully under their watchful eye, the Yoshi Bodyguards were found guilty. As a result, the Counsel mandated that the Yoshi Bodyguards be merged with the SWDF after Mekkai was secured and the Metal Army defeated.

The Last Yoshi Bodyguards

The last mission of Sub’s while under the Yoshi Bodyguards involved Coshi's homeland, which was attacked by a Plasshi clone. The situation became sticky after Ryshi almost decided to declare war on Star World, and the Bugato Islands demanded the death of Plasshi. However, Sub discovered that this was actually a ploy by the newly formed Neo-COUE. After a quick battle with a small cult causing this chaos and balance was restored. Shortly after, Top, Oshy and Topper left the Yoshi Bodyguards, starting the exodus of core members that cause most of the members to go their separate ways. Subsourian, Scorch, Mexous, Sally, Coshi and Plasshi, and Tron had decided to stay, holding devotion to the clone army and the automatons that still served.

This did not stop Sub from serving with old friends, and after a mission in the Upper Stream of Federation Space, Sub came back to Star World to support several former Yoshi Bodyguards in a raid on Bowser's Castle, but was defeated by Iggy Koopa. Sub then reappeared only to help Top fight off Lord Crump's mecha, but had to leave after an incident at Renton caused him to be called away.

Sub lead in Renton's defense, where a Metal Army fleet sought to break through while the shipyards of Renton were disabled from within. Sub drove them back, and mandated a new shipyard be built with better defenses for a surprise attack. Sub then returned to Star World for a wedding of Vivian and Noshum in the Shadow Dimension, and when things went awry, Sub acted quickly, using his dark powers to destroy the Crystal Ztar and locate the shards across the world. Though he disliked Noshum, through the journey he began to warm up to the shadow spirit. In the end, when given the chance to kill Noshum, Sub cast a small Ereshikigal on the possessed Noshum, freeing him from the Ztar's control.

Once again, Sub returned to the frontlines of the war, raiding several planets in the Mobius sector that were taken by the Metal Army. He took command of a garrison there, and drove the Metal Army's last bastion of the Zinc and Cobalt back out of the system and into Lylat. Sub then left the garrison there, and returned to Star World after he had heard Top had inherited an entire Kingdom.

Sub aided Top in military matters when the kingdom of Shiver Star was invaded by its neighbors. Sub, unfortunately, could not devote Yoshi Bodyguard forces away from the primary threat of the Metal Army. The kingdom fell, but Sub transported a diamond the invaders were after away from enemy forces before they could obtain them.

In pursuit of the mysterious Cloud, Sub and Sneezier sent in a force for Operation: Cloud Hunt, wandering into an alternate dimension where they played a game by the Cloud’s rules. The operation failed, and Sub's forces were thrown back to the material universe with no casualties. However, he has come one step closer to finding the Cloud, and using its power for the benefit of Star World.

War's End and a Temporary Peace

Sub aided Team TOT in an operation against an unknown military faction operating in the Mobius Sector (recognized as the Dark Perforation later). He beat back Metal Top and returned the Master Emerald into its proper place.

Almost immediately afterward, he was called back to defend Star World from a Metal Army attack, where he lead an assault on a Mantra Class Dreadnaught with Dark Squadron. Sub lost his Platinum Shroom in that battle, when Whirl attempted to contact him due to Slike attempt to take over Mobius. The Mantra was destroyed, and Sub and Sneezier convinced with the Alliance of Worlds in Mushroom Kingdom. They would lead a final attack on the Metal Army’s stronghold of Mekkai. Sub lead the eastern attack, moving to Mekkai's palace while retrieving Tron, who was working as a spy for the Alliance. In the process, Sub found a strange egg, which he named Shem, and adopted. Sub helped in the final battle against Metal Sneezier and Ultra Stuffwell, using the energy from organic life to overcharge his capacity for dark mana, allowing him to kill Ultra Stuffwell. While the Metal Army was far from defeated, the Metal Wars were at an end.

Sub could not rest, however. He was then called out to deal with the X-Naut uprising in the Tetra Galaxy, as they were using a Metal Army creation known as Ultimate AI to attack Federation Space. However, when he arrived, the remaining Metal Army under Omega had taken the AI, and the X-Naut fleet, under Grodus, and an animated fleet under Conrad had come to exact vengeance. His fleet engaged the Metal Army, but after a while, Conrad, Grodus and Sub could not get past their mutual hatred of one another, and a free-for-all broke out between the three fleets. In the end, Litera battled Sub, beating him back and destroying the Wizard Gundam. Sub’s fleet was forced to make an emergency jump into hyperspace, and retreat.

However, when he jumped, he ended up in an unknown sector of the Tetra Galaxy. When his fleet reported strange energy readings from an uncharted moon, Sub decided to investigate. Once there, he entered a strange energy shield that housed a human colony, as well as strange purple crystals. The humans went insane at the sight of Sub and his group, and after a firefight, Sub discovered the crystals held a variety of creatures, including a Necron and a Yoshi. However, he also discovered a Morph, his own race of artificial humans once thought to be extinct. Then, the master of the facility, an unknown abyssal creature, spoke to him, telling him that he created this new breed of Morph, and talked about a great cosmic cycle which would soon doom their very universe. With very little left to do, Sub returned to his fleet.

Sub returned to Star World, only to be caught in the defense of Star World from the Dark Perforation’s primary assault. He organized the counter offensive when they were cut off from the space fleets, and helped use the remaining defenders to break the Perforation's power base in Diamond City. After the assault was broke, Sub was key in planning the assault on the Dark Perforation's Castle, where he took the Nightwind IV to aid the defense from the Dark Perforation’s fleet. Sub then dueled Minorbu, hoping to avenge his tactical defeat on Shiver Star. Sub did manage to kill him, but was horridly wounded in the process, and unable to help in the final battle.

Sub recovered, and while there was, for once, peace in the universe, he could not rest. Hearing stories of the Cloud, took his specialized Stormhunter Regiment on another dimensional mission. This time, the Stormhunters has found evidence of a great power hiding in another world. Thinking it was the Cloud, who had recently appeared to the remaining Yoshi Bodyguards, Sub himself lead the Stormhunters to this dimension, encountering the convict Eli and his group. Sub then devised a plan. He would use their group to lead them to the Cloud, using the Stormhunter's stealth technology to tail them. After they found it, he would arrest Eli's group, and take the power for Star World. However, he failed to capture Eli or the power, which ended up not being the Cloud, and returned to Star World.

A Troubled Peace

Back on Star World, Sub soon felt a strange dark presence looming on the horizon. In response, he mobilized an elite force of SWDF forces to prepare an outpost at Shooting Star Summit, thinking a small force could catch the dark forces unaware and not spread panic to the people of Star World. Soon, a force that would be known as the Darkost Army hit the SWDF fortifications. Though holding a superior position, the SWDF were forced to tactically withdraw, Sub and his core forces moving with Team TOT to face Kammy personally. After a battle with both Kammy and the writer of the Dark Prognosis, both of whom were summoning the Darkost, Sub and the SWDF finally came out triumphant (though Sub was personally disappointed he could not get his hands on the Dark Perforation for study).

Events on Star World were fairly calm from then until mid summer of that year, when Sub and Sneezier ordered to do diplomatic work with Shiver Star, to which he recruited Team TOT to aid them given their friendly past with Snophia, regent of the planet. After diplomatic negations with the crimelord Chills Pacone nearly broke down, Sneezier discovered that Chills's father was son of one of the heads of Darkcorp. Sub and the Star World diplomats left, returning to their homeworld.

However, when they returned they had found Dark Top, a former Yoshi Bodyguard enemy, to have reappeared, this time as ruler of a nearby planet Popworld. Though distrustful, Sub helped them track down the former leader of the planet, Bork. After he and his rebels were forced to retreat, Sub agreed to a treaty that would create an uneasy alliance grew between the two planets. A week later Sub would return to aid in attacking the reformed rebellion, when Blork offered a proposition of peace. However, a reprogrammed Metal Top appeared and killed the leader, but before they could even get close enough to examine the robot, Dimento appeared and scrambled it.

A while later a strange occurrence disabled all electrical devices on Popworld. Dark Top blamed Star World, proclaiming war on the planet. Sub mused they should just nuke the planet as a demonstration of power, but in the end the Council of Star World agreed to send the 1st Chronis Liberators in to pacify the planet. After several days, word got back the regiment was slaughtered. Then, it was revealed Star World's on-planet short-ranged nuclear arsenal had vanished, leaving Sub to form a ground force to pacify the planet.

After an initial beachhead, Sub, Tron and Sneezier faced a superweapon of Popworld, which they dispatched. After reforming the remains of the Liberators Sub stormed the capitol, breeching the walls and storming Dark Top's palace. However, Dark Top was not in the city, but nearby. Three hours after the capitol fell he was reported to have been assassinated.

Sub was then assigned on a reconstruction project, helping reform Popworld into a more Star World friendly nation. After attempting to rig the election to favor the Star World candidate, Sub tried to discover the identity of the mysterious victor, who revealed to be Dimento. After a short fight, Dimento teleported away, but it was revealed Bowser had attacked Mushroom Kingdom unexpectedly. Taking what force he could, Sub regrouped back to Star World and broke the invasion force. But as it turned out, Dark Top (who had survived), Bowser, and Dimento were behind a grand conspiracy that tied in the two planet's political systems. Dimento and Dark Top betrayed Bowser, and attempted to set off a set of a group of SWDF nukes when Chills Pacone came to Sub's rescue, attacking the two terrorists. After a drawn out battle, Dark Top was defeated and Dimneto forced to retreat. Sub set the remaining Liberators in charge of Popworld, and began to oversee more pressing matters in the recent return of the Neo-COUE.

He didn't remain on the front long, however, as it was revealed the Beanstar was stolen. Sub found out it was Ripvor, the assassin who had attempted to kill him a little less than a year ago, and the Witchy Fury Trio. Sub was ready to peruse in the Nightwind IV, when Sera and Hey You appeared from the future, wishing to help. Sub discovered the trio’s vessel, the Hag 3, and destroyed the ship, but the Trio used the Beanstar to teleport on the Nightwind IV. After a short fight, Ripvor betrayed the trio, and revealed he only wanted the Beanstar to bring his siblings back to life. After Conrad's ship came to find the Trio, Sub attacked him, but not before the Trio teleported to his ship and used the escape pods to retreat. Sub discovered Cherry and Numer, who had been training Conrad, and returned the Beanstar to safety.

On the Horizon of Oblivion

Later, in pursuit of the Cloud, Sub was attacked by the Metal Army at his extra-dimensional portal that he used to hunt the Cloud, known as the Cosmic Anchor. During the crisis, the portal was damaged, and Sub was tossed through the dimensional plane, and ended up in a strange alternate universe. Here, he helped two creatures named Exx and Duskfiend in summoning the Titans, mysterious Gods who had helped in creating the universe, and now were to cleanse it of an irreversible taint. Sub and Exx were nearly beaten by a group named Team Awesome, lead by Fungus, and at the last second, the two had a change of heart over the Titan's summoning, deciding that the universe should live to fight the evil influence that was coming as opposed to being annihilated in a firestorm. While Exx and Duskfiend both fell in battle along with Fungus, Sub was able to be sent back to his own dimension.

Mid-December of that year, the Stormhunters picked up a lead on the mysterious Cloud, which was revealed to having been held captive by Chills Pacone. Sub mobilized his forces immediately, hoping not to cause an interplanetary crisis by storming the palace and taking the Cloud. His Stormhunters hit Chill's home, killing his guards and incapacitating the crimelord. After the Cloud's pilot failed to escape, Sub finally had the Cloud in his grasp. After a confrontation between the two, it was revealed that Count Bleah had finally reemerged to attack Star World after all of these years, hoping to draw the Cloud out with his newly created army of Morphs, to which Sub had uncovered not but several months ago. Sub demanded to be taken back to Star World, infuriated that the Morphs were reformed, and Cloud teleported them home.

Sub faced Count Bleah, alone at first, engaging him in man-on-man combat. Sub was able to hold his own, unleashing every ounce of his arcane power against the extradimensional threat. However, it simply was not enough, and the Cloud was forced to intervene. Count Bleah was finally stalled when the Cloud scrambled a group of dimensions, buying Star World time. The Cloud scrambled the memories of everyone involved, except for Sub, who was given several advanced technologies of the Cloud in order to ensure Sub never trailed him again. Sub took the technologies back to Fahr Outpost, where they were quickly put into use for Star World.

It was about this time that the Galdenthane were first discovered and the Neo-COUE first began their attacks. With much of the SWDF preoccupied with universal matters, the Stormchaser’s purpose fulfilled, and Team TOT beginning to resent Sub's tactics and control, the Druid knew that he was going to need a private force to accomplish his more subtitle missions. From the best of the Defensive Forces ranks, he formed Task Force 827, a covert operations squad that answered to Sub. Headed by Jeremy Calder, Sub first sent his force on missions against the Neo-COUE, then again against several Metal Army pockets of resistance.

But their first real mission was when Sub was given a distress call from the prison planet of Torres, housing some of the deadliest criminals in the universe. After storming a mysterious ruin that appeared on the surface, Sub was teleported into the prison’s very cells, which was under attack by the Metal Army and a group known as the Dagon Mercenaries. It was revealed that Metal Top, now the Metal Marauder, had taken control of the prison. Still, Sub and Task Force 827 managed to break from its grasp, defeating the Metal Army as well as groups of freed prisoners. Curiously, Sub found a strange purple spellbook locked in a cell, which he had taken with him. After escaping, Sub used the Nightwind IV to unleash an orbital bombardment on the prison, activating the nuclear fail-safes and annihilating the instillation. Still, it turned out the Metal Marauder escaped. Sub would then keep the entire operation classified.

The Galdenthane War would then escalate, Sub aiding in the Federation’s defense. In a covert operation, the Stormhunters discovered Dark Perforation technology in a Galdenthane hive ship, revealing that they had fought the ancient enemy before. Sub then raided a branch of the Metal Marauder, discovering the connection between the two; the Dark Perforation had allied with the Titans, the creators of the universe Sub had encountered in an alternate dimension, to defeat a fallen member of their kin. The Galdenthane were of his servants, sealed away. When time travelers from a future Pokeworld revealed that they would lose the war, Sub was among the force mobilized to help defeat the Fallen Titan, one of the creators of the universe kept in a prison in a barren and unknown galaxy. Using the Dark Perforation’s Black Hole Cannon, they warped to his prison, fought a battle with the guards, and engaged in a battle with the imprisoned God. After fighting him both in the Pokeworld afterlife and in his physical form, the group emerged victorious. However, a member of the Titan’s messenger arrived at the universe, and attempted to purge it of the taint of the Fallen Titan. Sub and his group managed to stop him and deactivate the ritual, ending the Galdenthane Wars.

Upon the war's conclusion, Sub once again returned to Star World. However, now it would be discovered that Rexxor was using other villain contacts to unleash monsters on Star World. They were beaten back each time, but eventually his attacks became more and more bold. When his keep was finally stormed by Sub, Rexxor did the unthinkable; joined the SWDF in order to avoid capture. This event would cause Sub no end of trouble, as Rexxor then compromised the SWDF security network and used their own defenses against them. He was uprooted, and Sub used Task Force 827 to clean Rexxor’s forces and any contacts he had with the SWDF.

Sub helped in the Star World Civil War, commanding Task Force 827 against the Koopa Forces while attempting to bring Morton Jr to justice.

Non-Canonical Plot Moments

Tick Tack Emissary: Sub appeared in an alternate dimension version in TTE, where he helped Blizzard and Scorch in finding Pichup. Sub then helped the band of heroes defeat Count Bleah,at first failing, but then being recovered by Top. Several other items of Sub's also appeared, such as the Nightmare, the Nightwind IV, and Lunari. While the story is technically canonical, this version of Sub is not.

Knights of the Sky: Back before the Yoshi Bodyguards, another military RP was created with Sub as a central character. This involved Sub and his dragon-like wyrm, Luna, supported by a large group of warriors who raided those who preyed on weaker organizations. The organization lasted for a long period of time, but did not have a set story canon to it.

Super Smash Nsiders Melee: SSNM was a comic series Sub appeared in, immitating the Super Smash Brothers series. In this series, Sub was a slow character with low defense, yet a very high attack. Also appearing were Yoshimire and Gigey Foxer, as well as collectable "trophies" of Mia Takahashi, King Ludwig von Koopa I, and Pentance. Sub's course was a recreation of the Abyss, where bolts of dark mana would strike contesters. SSNM contained many Yoshi Bodyguards, but is still regarded as non-canon.

Forum Emblem: A comic series by Subsourian (the user) about the administrators of old Nsider. It used Sub's sprite and model, but only to represent the user himself.

The Yoshi Military: Chapter 19: The 19th chapter of the Yoshi Military was made for Nsider 2 as an attempt to revive military RPing. In this RP, Sub had taken the survivors of Star World out of an unnamed catastrophe that devastated the planet and recolonized Tarsonis. Sub then founded New Greenflame on the ruins of his old empire, but was warned that the Starlites had returned, and had destroyed the Cyber Bell Vanguard. The Starlites attacked New Greenflame, and in the end, Sub's second in command turned on him, leading to a defeat for Subsourian. Sub managed to teleport a majority of the population away using a time traveling device known as the Chronosphere. While the RP is considered non-canon, the Foxer Coup was taken from this roleplay.

Team Rocket/Magma: A character named Subsourian also appeared in the Team Magma and Team Rocket Roleplays. He was portrayed as a grey-haired psychic who was the result of a DNA slicing between a human and a Kyogre. He had a Relicanth named Raynor, who could move through dirt as well as water. This version of Sub could communicate with Pokemon via his psychic powers. He was later replaced with Alfred in the canon of the Yoshi Bodyguards, and appeared in the incomplete Team Rocket Revolution.

Personal Information

Personality

Subsourian is a very grim and serious character, and approaches a situation from a logical perspective. He can be cruel and blunt, but holds loyality in high regard. However, due to his age, he comes across as cocky and conceided, which sometimes gets him into trouble. Sub is very intelligent, which makes up for his lack of raw strength. He cannot stand negligence, which brings him to odds with some of the more whimisical Yoshi Bodyguards.

Sub has different views on relationships and death than other members of the Yoshi Bodyguards. Having lived for four thousand years, Sub sees any attempt at a relationship feudal and pointless. It is unknown if he has feelings for any other being. Sub's opinion's on death came out when he saw Sneen's demise. Due to seeing everyone he has known for the past four thousand years eventually die, Sub is somewhat used to the death of even the closest friends, and his apathetic demeanor makes him seem almost uncaring. Sub is willing to order the death thousands of his men in order to complete an objective. Despite this, Sub as stated that he "never wastes men," and that he is only willing to sacrifice men when duty calls for it.

Abilities

Sub is a very powerful practitioner of the magical dark arts. He knows thousands of spells from his four thousand years of study. Subsourian usually fights using magic, but does carry a pistol sidearm. Sub's greatest gift is his tactical mind. Many times, outnumbered and outgunned, Sub has turned the tide of battle. He also is very handy with a single handed sword, and carries his blade Lunari.

Spells

Sub's total collection of spells is rather large, contained in his own private library aboard the Nightwind IV. His core arsenal of spells he keeps in his, the Twilight Lexicanium. Many other, more common spells he can use without his spellbook. Some of his primary spells include

  • Flux
  • Nosferatu
  • Luna
  • Eclipse
  • Fenrir
  • Gespenst
  • Aura
  • Guardian
  • Selvor Fimbulvetr
  • Eclipse
  • Stone
  • Apocalypse
  • Shadowshot
  • Ereshkigal

Final Smash: Ereshkigal

Should the situation become desperate, Subsourian may unleash his ultimate spell, Ereshkigal. The spell starts when Sub summons a great ammount of dark mana, and pulls it all into a set point, sucking up all matter in the surrounding area and condensing it into subatomic particles. When the core reaches a terminal mass, the center explodes, the resulting blast enhanced with dark mana to unleash a massive wave of destruction.

Sub has used scaled down versions of this spell in the past, such as to break the Crystal Ztar. However, it has only been truly used three times, once to suck him away into the abyss when he was on Elibe, once to stall the legendary Titans, and the other to attempt to kill the multidimensional creature Count Bleah. The true spell draws power directly from his quintessense, the binding energy between the soul and the body, and thus leaves him in a maimed state, near death.

Items

Druid Robes

Since his creation, Sub has had a special garb that allows him to better use magic energy. This garb has been reconditioned many times, and fully covers up most of his body. It contains many pockets and compartments, which allows him to carry regants for his spells. However, it does hinder his mobility.

Twilight Lexicanum

The Twilight Lexicanum is Sub's spellbook, and the only one of its kind. It is the only spellbook in the known universe to contain the full inscription of Ereshkigal, an extremely powerful dark spell created by the Dragons of yore, as well as many of other lost spells. The book contains notes and new spells created by Subsourian himself, and serves as Sub's main weapon.

Lunari

Lunari was Sub's sword obtained when he joined the battle in the Starlite Wars, forged by Char Guildmaker, the master smith of a distant Axis planet. It has been infused with hundreds of mythical metals, as well as the blood of Subsourian himself. Thus, Sub is able to not only use it in combat, but channel spells through it as if it were his own hand. Due to Sub's lack of physical strength, he rarely uses it, however, he is practiced with its use, and has delivered several killing blows with the blade.

Advanced Reconnisance Commando Pattern Combat Armor (Custom)

When Sub is on the battlefield, he is usually in the streamlined shape of ARC Armor. His suit is custom made from Elementite scavenged from the Nightwind III when it was refitted to the Nightwind IV, which allows him to focus defensive spells through it. In its normal state, it is white with a dark purple trim, but the suit of armor can change color if Sub so wills it, allowing him to blend in to the surrounding area. This effect is partly annulled by the fact Sub rarely wears the helmet. As to why he refuses unless absolutely necessary, Sub will not say.

Nightwind IV

The Nightwind IV is Sub's personal battleship and supercarrier, classifed as a Command Class Battlecruiser. It is too large to land on a planet for maintenance, so Sub uses it for high atmospheric or deep space missions, as well as a base of operations for interplanetary campaigns. The first Nightwind was very crude, but contained the first magitech weapons on a starship. The first model was scrapped after a single by Imperial engineers to make way for the Nightwind II, which created the trademark "hammerhead" appearance. The Nightwind II was destroyed in the Battle of Starel. Thus, Sub created the Nightwind III to command his operations in the YK Wars II and III. When Sub was sent into exile, Foxer disabled the ship's hyperdrives and weapons systems, and sent him into deep space. When Sub joined the Yoshi Bodyguards nearly one thousand years later, Sneezier reconditioned the ship and reformed it's weapon systems with superior technology, thus making the Nightwind IV.

The Nightwind IV contains four A-A Batteries, six Orbital Bombardment cannons, a primary Yamatto Cannon, several Magi Turrets, as well as a myriad of anti-personnel cannons. While Sub commands the vessel, the clone ARC Yoshilier is the ship's captain.

The Nightmare

The Nightmare was a Revenant Class Fighter created by Sub for the sole purpose of surface missions where the Nightwind IV could not operate. The ship was outfitted with four Aries Missile pods, three A-G Turrets, and a miniature Mana Cannon. The Nightmare was shot down and destroyed in a battle against Conrad the Conqueror's Fleet. Sub now uses various Pelican Dropships for deep strike missions.

A similar version of the Nightmare was used in Tick Tack Emissary, which assisted Sub in his ground operations. Scorch had a similar Revenant Class Fighter, the Crusader.

The Wizard Gundam

The Wizard Gundam was Sub's personal mecha (mobile suit) built by Sneezier, built out of discarded magitechnology from the conversion of the Nightwind III to the Nightwind IV. The Gundam contains two beam swords, a mana rifle, and the ability to siphon mana from Sub himself and amplify its power. The Wizard Gundam's interface uplinked with Sub’s body, allowing for fluid motion between pilot and machine. The Wizard Gundam was stored in the Nightwind IV, and was Sub's weapon of choice for close0quarters deep space battles.

The Wizard Gundam was destroyed by Litera in a battle against the reformed Metal Army in the Battle of Alinos. While replacement models were designed, none were deemed practical

Commissar's Pistol (custom)

Sub wields a custom laspistol standard of SWDF political officers. The firepower has been drastically increased, and, due to tinkering by Sneezier, the pistol can increase its energy output from Sub's dark energy presence. Sub has used it as a weapon of last resort when magic is not an option.

Other Items

Sub also has in his possession many relics and magical artifacts he has hunted in his lifetime. He has given some of them to other magic based Yoshi Bodyguards, such as PB, Sunset, and Sera.

Sub also usually carried a field medical kit in order to aid the injuried and dying on the field. He also has a standard Yoshi Bodyguard "Platinum Shroom" Communication Uplink, which has been upgraded in the transition to the SWDF. Sub also has a full array of herbalism vials and herbs, allowing him to create potions at will. This was useful in the period where he required special potions to ease the coughing fits that would randomly occur in the aftermath of the Dark Ages.

Biology

Sub is a Morph, an artificial humanoid creature created by dark magic. He is the last of his race, originally thought to have a lifespan shorter than humans due to their unstable nature. However, because of Subsourian's time in the Abyss his body was saturated to the dark mana that is required for him to sustain life. Sub's heals slower than most other creatures of his stature, but he is able to heal more grievous wounds without much permanent scarring.

Sub requires no sleep, though it does accelerate his healing and allow him to better use his spells. In some situations, such as in Plot of Evil Dreams, Sub has had to stay awake for weeks on end in order to complete an operation.

Sub's blood is an odd liquid. It is still red, but very deep and dark, almost black in appearance. Many rumors surround the effects of Morph's blood and its magic and healing capabilities, but Sub has never supplied it in large quantities, as it, like the rest of his body, regenerates at a slower rate than other beings. Subsourian's blood cannot be cloned, partially because Sub himself discourages it, partially because his cells and DNA structure are sustained off of a set stream of magic, which cannot be replicated by simple cloning processes.

Sub himself is thin, tall, and wiry. He lacks psychical strength, but makes up for it in raw brainpower. His memory is enormous, and wit still shark. His hair is a jet black color, his skin is very pale, and his trademark feature is his bright golden eyes that almost seem catlike in their shine. His lifespan is unknown, but he has lived for four thousand years with very little signs of fading. Sub's voice is gravely and deep, and his body looks as though it has aged to its late 40s.

Residence

Sub has no permanent residence as others do. After the dissolution of the Yoshi Bodyguards, he is usually found in an SWDF command center or aboard his ship, the Nightwind IV. The Nightwind IV is Sub's one true home, providing him shelter between campaigns.

Interactions

Scorch

Scorch has been Sub's friend ever since he saved Sub in the Dark Ages. Because of his actions, Sub promoted him to an honorary core Yoshi Bodyguard. Scorch holds Sub in high respect, and is usually seen on the frontlines with him. After the breakup of the Yoshi Bodyguards, the two drifted apart, Sub working behind the frontlines and Scorch assigned to special operations.

ARC Yoshilier

ARC Yoshilier is Sub's staff officer, and captain of his ship the Nightwind IV. It was ARC Yoshilier who saved Sub and the Lost in the Dark Ages. ARC Yoshilier and Sub have a special bond, as the two spend months together onboard the Nightwind IV. The two usually compete in simple games such as chess to pass the time between missions, and both of them trust one another with their lives.

Top

Top is a close friend of Subsourian, which is odd, considering Top's personality is opposite of Sub's. However, on many occasions, Sub has abandoned the frontline of war to help Top with his own, personal mission. However, with his recruitment into the Warpstarmy, Sub is beginning to wonder if there may not be some future problems regarding Top's knowlege of the SWDF's secretive workings.

Oshy

Oshy and Sub very rarely speak directly to each other, which Sub finds odd considering how alike they are. Sub and Oshy still disagree on the use of the clone army, which has caused a large rift between them. However, they are still allies, and serve as such.

Topper

While he will never openly state it, Sub knows that Topper distrusts him. Sub has no personal cause against Topper, and respects him as a valuable ally as well as a powerful fighter. Sub gladly serves with Topper whenever the situation calls for action, and supports him whenever necessary.

Noshum

Subsourian has been known to have a xenophobia against the shadow people due to their service to many enemies of Star World. At first, Sub took this out on Noshum, openly doubting him in front of his very team. However, in the end Sub saw Noshum's potential as a dark magic user and his reliable nature, and considers himself on good terms with Noshum.

Sneezier

Sub and Sneezier have been close, despite the fact they both fought eons ago when Sub was being tricked by Crown Prince Ludwig. Now, Sub and Sneezier are two of the top SWDF commanders and defacto leaders of the remaining Clone Army, and continue to rely on eachother. Sneezier regularly provides Sub with technological boons, while Sub uses his spells and enchantments to improve Sneezier's inventions. Both of them served in many a way, and trust one another with their very lives.

Coshi

Sub and Coshi hold a high respect for eachother, one being a warrior, the other a mage. His help in preventing Plasshi from being executed by Coshi's people has earned him a high regard from Coshi, while Sub regards him highly just in his willingness to put his life on the line for his world.

Plasshi

Sub and Plasshi used to study together, and Sub taught Plasshi of the three schools of magic. Sub has been key in the negotiations between Star World and Ryshi, her homeworld. After her childbirth, Sub continues to train Plasshi and her daughter.

Sera

Sub's sees a great potential in Sera as a magic-user. However, he fears for Sera, that she will let the raw magical talent corrupt her. He hasn't discussed any of it with Plasshi or Coshi, and continues to train her to use her magical abilities while she is still young. Sub came in contact with a future version of Sera during a mission, but even that hasn't completely calmed his fears for her.

Powerbox

Sub and Powerbox were close simply because of Sub's interactions with Sunset. Both of them use magical arts, and thus Sub continues to help PB, giving him equipment and weapons from ages past to help him. Sub was saddened when Powerbox vanished, and only recently has he come back in contact with him.

Sunset

Sunset was regarded by Sub as a pupil, who Sub sought to train to suceed him. Sub granted him training and equipment, and gave him what experience he could. Sunset was showing much promise when he vanished. Sub continues to try to find the secret of Sunset's parents, and trains Sera in his place, but has a growing worry for Sera's future as a mage. Recently, Sunset reappeared, but deeply changed.

Pyro

Sub and Pyro did not get along at first, but the two formed a slow friendship. Sub can look past Pyro's random nature, unless it gets in the way of his operations. Sub lost almost all contact with Pyro after he left the Yoshi Bodyguards.

Chibi

Chibi and Sub have a love-hate relationship. Sub dislikes the work ethic of Chibi, and how little she aids the Yoshi Bodyguard effort to defend the universe. Sub has even used Chibi as a weapon when she laxed in battle. However, Sub will reluctantly come to Chibi's aid when she is in danger. The two broke off all contact after the Yoshi Bodyguards disbanded.

Max

Sub knew Max back in the old days of the Yoshi Bodyguards, and the two had some tension between them. Max openly distrusted Sub, and Sub thought Max was a maniac and unfit to be in the Yoshi Bodyguards. However, Sub and Max would put aside their differences for the greater good. After the Yoshi Bodyguards disbanded, Max and Sub never interacted again.

Mack

Sub recalls back as a fierce warrior and good friend. Subsourian once commented that Mack was the closest thing this eon had to Yoshimire. When he vanished, Sub was saddened, if not somewhat betrayed. He continues to speak of Mack as one of the finest warriors he had ever met, and speaks his name to the clone army (of whom most can trace their genetic stock to) with reverence.

Bob

Bob and Sub occasionally clashed, as Bob was laid back, somewhat uncaring, and Sub was devoted to serving Star World. Still, the two held a mutual respect, especially in the latter days of the organization.

Danny

Sub and Danny got along well at first, but his constant taunting and gloating annoyed Sub to no end. Sub still helps Danny in his situations on Pokeworld, but other than that, keeps a distance from him.

King Ludwig von Koopa I

Sub and King Ludwig were rivals around 0 BZ, having fought three major wars with one another that shaped the fate of Star World. Both had an extreme hatred of one another, although in the latter days, the two were often forced to work together. Though their hatred ran deep, Sub respected Ludwig as a fierce adversary.

Crown Prince Ludwig

The Ludwig of the present Sub sees as a sniveling coward. Sub knows how the new prince works in the shadow of his father, lacking the power to do much of anything. Sub sees him as having no sense of honor or any tactical knowledge of the man he was named from.

Yoshimire

Yoshimire was the symbol of everything Sub respected. He lead the Yoshis tribes to an era of prosperity, and it was said his very presence could turn the tide of a battle. Sub still speaks of Yoshimire in the highest respect, and as such, this has transferred over to the Clone Army. Many regiments, chants, and symbols are tributes to the great warrior.

Gigey Foxer

Foxer was Sub's second-in-command during the age of the Imperial Yoshis, and someone Sub felt he could trust with his life. The two fought side by side in many battles, and when he became Emperor, Sub placed him as advisor. However, Foxer was the one who started the Foxer Coup after Sub's rule was seen as a detriment to the Imperial Yoshis. After sending Sub into exile, his line ruled the empire until its eventual collapse. The betrayal has had a lasting impact on Subsourian.

Mia Takahashi

Mia was one of Sub's trusted Generals in the age of Imperial Yoshis. She was a frontline soldier, leading her forces to victory time and time again. Sub grew in respect for her, giving her a position of power when Greenflame was established.

Dark Top

Sub knew of Dark Top's existence long before even Top did, seeing the dark energy within Top pooling into one mass and craving physical form. Like all "Mirror images," Sub generally leaves the issue of their defeat to the image's caster, but, like Metal Sneezier, Sub steps in when Dark Top begins to threaten the safety of Star World or other civilized worlds. On Popworld, the two met in military and political battles, both trying to cease control of the world by any means necessary. Even after his defeat and merging with Top, Sub is worried he has not seen the last of him.

King Rexor

Rexxor vexes Sub to no end. Formerly, Rexxor was a minor nusance to the Yoshi Bodyguards and the SWDF, mostly fighting with the Castle Gisho as opposed top openly engaging SWDF forces. During the Drawlica Incidents, Sub pleaded for clearance to attack Rexxor's forces and remove him from Star World, but Koopa resistance kept him from doing so. When he finally did storm the castle, politics not only prevented Sub from killing him, but allowed him to join the SWDF, causing the biggest security breach in their history. The fact Rexxor is still not dead is one of Sub's greatest ires. Oshy is possibly the only being alive that hates Rexxor more than Sub does.

Slike

Sub knows very little of Slike, but was defeated by him once when a union of villains outnumbered him. He sees Slike as an egomaniac with a large mech backing, but his competence worries Sub. Sub was pleased to hear Slike's imprisonment, but even after his escape regarded him as a little threat. It wasn't until Slike had obtained an essense of the Dark Perforation and used it to aid Rexxor did Sub finally regard him as a true enemy.

Ripvor

Ripvor and Sub barely know each other, but Sub views Ripvor as an insane terrorist hell-bent for vengeance in any way necessary. However, since their last encounter Sub has withdrawn hunts for Ripvor, thinking of him as little of a threat. However, should they meet again he would probably still try to apprehend him for his crimes.

Dark Perforation Crusade

Sub read of the DPC long ago. He knows the myths and legends surrounding them and their master, Dark Perforation. However, not even Sub was prepared when they revealed themselves in invasion after invasion, taking advantage of the Metal Wars to hit undefended planets. Sub aided in the defense of Star World from their assault, and helped in the battle against The Dark Perforation. Sub himself was defeated in tactical warfare by Minorbu, although Sub attributes it to lack of dicplined troops and supplies.

Metal Marauder

Sub saw Metal Top as a threat during the Darkcorp conflict, and even moreso when he showed up in the DPC conflict. Durring the Torres Incident, Sub discovered that Metal Top, now the Metal Marauder, had evolved into a signifigant threat to the universe. He kept all information regarding him top secret, but has since sent Task Force 827 members to hunt him down. None of them ever came back with any solid trail.

Eli

Sub only came in contact with Eli during the Area 64 Hostage situation, and it was there Eli discovered his purpose; to reunite the Yoshi Bodyguards be defeating the leadership of the SWDF. However, Sub knows of his past efforts against the SWDF, especially destroying their fleet at Renton. He sees him as no more than a terrorist, but is perplexed at the mana-remnant on his body that mirrors the one of Enni.

Anubis

Sub and Anubis have always been against each other ever since Sub came close to killing Fazar in the Dark Ages. Anubis has a strong distrust for Sub, and Sub sometimes doubts his leadership skills. Regardless, Sub followed Anubis unquestioningly, even against his own better judgement. When Anubis left, Sub saw it as the end of the Yoshi Bodyguards.

Sneen

Sub always enjoyed Sneen's company, though he knew of his distrust. However, Sub knew he was competent, and fought alongside him, even after his death. At Sneen's death, oddly enough, Sub was one of the lesser impacted, stating that he had seen the death of almost everyone else he knew, and Sneen was no different.

Koop and Blizzard

Both Koop and Blizzard are the bane of Sub's existence. Their random nature, and complete disregard for the severity of the situation they are in prevents Sub from liking them in any way. Sub keeps his distance from the two, but is sometimes forced to help him. Thankfully for Sub, all contact with the two was lost after the breakup of the Yoshi Bodyguards.

Tron

Despite Tron's personality, Sub likes Tron a lot. He has great respect for his staying in the Yoshi Bodyguards after its breakup (however unintentional) and sends him on missions of great importance. He thinks that behind his somewhat idiotic demeanor lies a more intelligent creature. They have since been reassigned to different branches of the SWDF, and rarely see one another as such.

Enni

Sub knows very little about Enni, but respects her in her willingness to help him despite holding no real attachment to his world. He is saddened that he could not do much about her mission, but gave her what information he could on the last Yoshi Bodyguards. He is perplexed at the mana-remnant that surrounds her body.

Whirl

Sub has respect for Whirl's intelligence, and knows of his relationship with Evelyn, which amuses him. He thinks of Whirl as a capable fighter, and knows of his feats in the Yoshi Bodyguards, even though Sub and Whirl were always fighting on different fronts during their service together. The two have seen one another a good amount even after the breakup of the Yoshi Bodyguards.

Litera

Sub has no idea how Litera survived their first encounter on Star World's moon, but was shocked to hear that his Cosmic form survived, reanimated by the Metal Army. Litera defeated Sub on Alinos, destroying his Wizard Gundam. Sub is now on the lookout for Litera, hoping to destroy him, but knowing that finding him will be incredibly tough and resource intensive. Thus, he has not let his desire for vengeance drive him to hunt him down.

Lucky

Sub remembers Lucky from long ago, but really never developed a true friendship with him. He knows he is a capable fighter, and a good person, but not much more than that.

Metal Sneezier

Metal Sneezier was once one of Sub's primary targets, leading the Metal Army to one of history's fiercest wars. Sub himself drove straight into Mekkai, fighting his way through the palace into his throne room. Even after his redemption, Sub was glad that the sacrifice to save the Fountain of Dreams saved him the trouble of dispatching Metal Sneezier himself. For even redeemed, he would still have made him answer for his crimes.

Ultra Stuffwell

In his time in the Yoshi Bodyguards, Sub didn't think too much of the robot. He was usually at the side of Sneezier, unquestioning in his loyalty. It was because of this that Sub did not hesitate to mobilize forces against him when he defected to the Metal Army. Ultra Stuffwell was always the true force behind the Metal Army, in Sub's eyes. His Steel Legion defeated the Alliance of Worlds time and time again, many times with him at the front. At the final encounter at Mekkai, these fears were realized when Ultra Stuffwell merged with a Necron C'Tan at the final battle. Still, he was defeated, another threat to the universe removed.

Hey You

During Operation: Cloud Hunt, Subsourian and Sneezier were sent into the Cloud's alternate universe to seek its power. In the end, it was Hey You who took the power away from the Yoshi Bodyguards, and prevented it from being used to benefit Star World. Sub has despised Hey You ever since, nearly taking violent actions against him. His random nature also is a sharp annoyance to Sub, but he still has fought beside him when it was necessary.

The Cloud

Sub's mission to obtain the Cloud's technology used to be one of Sub's obsessions. When he finally tracked him down and took a good deal of the technology from it, Sub and the Cloud came to moderatly good terms. Sub still regards Topmonhit as a childish figure who abuses his God-like power, and AFLAC as his voice of reason, albeit an ineffective one. However, when he used the Cloud's technology to form weapons for the SWDF, Sub began to wonder if he too wasn't abusing the same power.

Trivia

  • Subsourian was not always portrayed as a Morph. In his first incarnation in an RP was as a dark blue Goomba, working for the Koopa Keep, which could use magic and had a robot suit. After he defected to the Yoshi Military, Sub was changed through magic to a human, and used the sprite of a orange faction colored Myrmadon sprite from Fire Emblem 7. After that, Sub's backstory was put in full, stating he was a Morph. Since Sub lacked recoloring skills, he simply used Nergal's sprite from Fire Emblem 7. Later, he recolored it with blue robes, to resemble the "Knights of the Sky" RP he lead at the time. Sub's roles are an interminate mix of reds and purples, though no art has been comissioned of it.
  • The name "Subsourian" came from the way Sub (the user) used to misspell the name of the Subrosian race from The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. The misspelling stuck with him, and thus his main RP character was named as such.
  • Sub has died twice in his stories, once in the Elite (Starlite) War, the other in a raid against the Zelda Military. Neither of these deaths are counted as canon.
  • Sub is the longest running RP character in the Yoshi Bodyguard canon, being active in RPing for eight years, namely in the Yoshi Military. Since then, his personality, backstory, and appearance have wildly changed.
  • Sub's secret nickname is Quizno.

Chibi Facts

  • Sub may seem like a strong, military man on the outside, but in reality he only has one weakness: Yoshiboobs. While he works closely with Sneezier, he is extremely put off by his taste in "magazines".
  • Then again, who isn't?
