The Dark Cloud
From Yb Timeline
"I understand your mistrust. However, through your 'observational tool,' did you see the great Metal Wars? The billions upon billions that could have been saved? Did you see the Dark Perforation, and again, did nothing as they ravaged planet after planet, slaughtering countless innocents? And now evil lurks on the horizon, as the demonic powers of the Neo-COUE and monstrous crystal creatures threaten our universe."
-Subsourian the Dark, The Dark Cloud (Part 27-12: The Fated Meeting (Hugearific!))
The Dark Cloud is the 27th story of Topmonhit Story, and is one of the few stories that The Cloud and Topmonhit play a key role in. It also featured the climax of Subsourian the Dark's quest to find The Cloud's power.

Story
Part 27-1: This is Canon Pikmin 3, Right?
The story begins when Captain Olimar and Louie return to Distant Planet for research and treasures. Louie is accidentally left behind on the 7th day and finds a large, black treasure chest that he opens, freeing Count Bleah. The next day, Olimar returns to the planet to find Louie and a Titan Dweevil suddenly appears.
Part 27-2: The Mysterious Count L
The Titan Dweevil is revealed to be controlled by a Hocotation named Count L who is cleaerly Louie, though Olimar does not realize this. He sends the Pikmin to attack the Titan Dweevil, knocking a staff it held out of its grip, and the staff explodes, destroying the Titan Dweevil and knocking Count L into the air. Count Bleah decides Louie was too weak to use as a vessel and floats through some clouds, absorbing itself into them. Louie, meanwhile, falls into a bush and is found by Olimar.
Part 27-3: Cloudy Clash
In the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario receives a letter from Mallow saying Nimbus Land needs his help--they've been attacked and everyone has been locked in the castle. Mario runs off to help them, leaving Luigi behind. Alone, Luigi decides to visit Gisho Castle, telling them Mario left without him again. Top declares that Mario can't take the spotlight anymore--that's Team TOT's job, and they head to Nimbus Land with Luigi. Meanwhile, Mario finds Nimbus land to be darkened, like a storm cloud, and when he tries to enter the castle humanoid cloud-creatures attack him. He destroys them with fire, and the castle door opens. Mario enters to face the attacker of Nimbus Land.
Part 27-4: Monopolized Topmonhit Story
At Shiver Star, Chills Pacone sees the economy has been in a slump. He decides something must be done to make it better, and plans to fully take over the Iclan Kingdom. While planning, however, he is interrupted by Topmonhit, as a Mii, demanding that he not attack the Iclan Kingdom. With Chills' mafia aiming their guns at him, though, he's at a clear disadvantage until he proposes a game; should Topmonhit win, Chills will not invade the Iclan Kingdom, while if Chills wins, he would get The Cloud. The game Topmonhit decides on is the board game Monopoly. See Monopoly Statistics for game information.
Part 27-5: Cloud Count
As Mario prepares to fight his greatest challenge at Nimbus Land, Top, Oshy, Topper and Luigi fly through the skies in Top's Star Ship. The lack of room for all four of them cause them to fight and bicker until it was a full-blown fight among all four of them; with no one piloting, the Star Ship careens off Barrel Volcano and crashes onto the castle of Nimbus Land. They enter the castle and find it empty until Count Bleah shows itself to them. Count Bleah tells them he locked Mario away, but as he speaks Top leaps at him, hammer at the ready. Top is sent crashing out of the castle and Oshy and Topper fight Count Bleah as Luigi sneaks off to find Mario, freeing him and all the Nimbus Land residents from a prison.
Part 27-6: For Better or Worse Markets
On turn 6, Topmonhit goes to jail and by turn 8 Chills has bought Boardwalk, but has been brought down to a mere thirty dollars. They continue going back and forth, both going to Jail a few times, until Chills completes the set of orange properties on turn 21. Slightly worried, Topmonhit takes solace in the fact that Chills wouldn't know where The Cloud was anyway, but at that moment it appears behind him and AFLAC comes out. It and Topmonhit argue, with AFLAC calling him foolhardy and Topmonhit saying he had never intended to show Chills where The Cloud was. They resume the game, the stakes now actually existing for Topmonhit.
Part 27-7: Dimensional Disorder
At Nimbus Land, Top, Oshy, Topper, Mario and Luigi all prepare to fight Count Bleah, but instead it creates two portals. Meanwhile, at Yoshi's Island, PB and Sunset are visiting and come across Wiggly Jr. and Tron. As they talk, a portal appears overhead. In Toad City, another portal appears near Bloo, Mogmire and Agal Bracy. At Twilight Town, Noshum and Vivian meet Vaganot as another portal appears. Pyro appears at Rogueport as Dryler, Lakeep and Zzub watch another portal appear. Finally, in Lethal Lava Land, Hey You, Danny and Count Blargg see another portal appear. From each portal comes a crystal, which shatter to reveal a morph in each one, the same species as Subsourian.
Part 27-8: “Curse You, Pennsylvania Railroad!”
Topmonhit gets a string of unlucky rolls and after 30 turns, is unable to pay; he loses the Monopoly game. He tries to leave, but Chills' mafia grabs him and AFLAC and chucks them in a closet that Squell is already in. Chills and his mafia then try to enter The Cloud, but are unable to figure out how. They're about to go get Topmonhit to tell them how to get in when explosions happen around the building.
Part 27-9: The Really Ridiculous Simile
This part was just an infinite simile making fun of old Greek epics that had similes that went on for lines and lines and lines. Top was hit by a flux ball.
Part 27-10: Attack of the Stormchasers
Several people are shot in the head through the window at Chills' office, shot by clone commando Scope. Chills hears a mass of footsteps coming up the stairs and more commandos and clone troops enter, attacking the mafia. Inside the closet, AFLAC says he detects humanoids outside, specifically clones. Topmonhit realizes this means Sub and the Clone Army are here, and tells Squell he needs her help, willing to give her all the jewels he could think of. The fight outside continued against Chills' Mafia's odds, and finally Subsourian entered the office.
Part 27-11: Dimensional Destruction and Damage of Darkness (IT'S OVER 500 TIMES SIIIIIIX)
At Yoshi's Island, the morph teleports about, throwing flux balls to destroy things. PB and Wiggly Jr. attacks as Sunset tries to get the yoshis to safety, but the morph begins to ignore the fighters and attack civilians. At Lethal Lava Land, another morph begins destroying parts of the land, prompting Count Blargg to attack him. Danny joins in after being hit, while Hey You spins in place.
At Nimbus Land, Mario and Luigi fight a morph while Top, Oshy and Topper fight the other. During the fight, Mario falls off the clouds. At Rogueport, Team Flash flee from the morph's attacks while Pyro is silly. At Twilight Town, Noshum, Vivian and Vaganot fights another morph. In Toad City, Agal Bracy is smacked about by the morph while Mogmire uses holy cows and holy ravioli to attack it.
Part 27-12: The Fated Meeting (Hugearific!)
As Sub takes down Chills' mafia, Seet notices a device he has beeping. Shem arrives with Sub and remembers The Cloud as what brought him to the place Sub first found him. Seet escapes, and the office is brought under siege by Sub, though Chills is able to escape. The clones find the closet Topmonhit is in and Sub blasts it open; immediately a swarm of bombs emerge, thrown by Squell, and she and Topmonhit escape riding on AFLAC, who dashes out and heads for The Cloud. Though they're able to disable AFLAC, Topmonhit attempts to escape with springs in his shoes, nearly reaching The Cloud, but is brought to the floor by Sub.
Sub begins trying to get Topmonhit to talk, but Topmonhit avoids every question, including claiming his name is Tungilick. It is also explained that Squell had tried to rob Chills, explaining why she was in the closet. The clones take a remote from Topmonhit, who claims it is his TV remote and whines for it back. Sub tries to appeal to AFLAC, and though AFLAC does not dodge the question, it refuses The Cloud to a military. Sub tries to appeal that The Cloud could have prevented the Metal Wars, The Dark Perforation, and can still prevent Neo-COUE and The Galdenthane. AFLAC says The Cloud's power is not meant to shift the balance of events in the universe; Topmonhit says he (usually) only changes things when there's something fundamentally imbalanced in the universe. Sub and Topmonhit continue trying to one-up one another until it finally comes to light that Sub does not want The Cloud itself, but to understand its workings and use its workings to better technology. Topmonhit figures Sneezier's meddlings in the past has caused technology to ramp up so much anyway it wouldn't add that much to it.
At this point they receive a message from the Star World Defensive Forces that they are under attack, and for all forces to report back to Star World. When Sub receives the message that it is morphs that are attacking on Star World, he demands Topmonhit to return them to the planet. He gives Topmonhit his remote back, and Topmonhit opens The Cloud, releasing the blaring of a siren from within. Topmonhit, AFLAC, Sub and Shem rush in to find out what's going on, and they bring up a visual of Nimbus Land, finding Count Bleah watch the fighting below. The scan is a positive--it's Count Bleah. They have a common enemy now, and Topmonhit sends his troops around Star World to combat the troops while Sub goes to fight Count Bleah himself.
Part 27-13: Phorming a Win! (Part A)
The fight continues at Nimbus Land as Mario returns with a cape, tossing a feather at Luigi to give him one as well. In Lethal Lava Land, they are able to send the morph flying off the edge of the area and into the lava below. At Toad City, a troop of SWDF Clone Troopers gun down the morph.
Part 27-14: Phorming a Win (Part B)
A troop of SWDF Clone Troopers gun down the morph at Rogueportas, while at Twilight Town, the morph is crushed by a large spike ball; the sudden appearance of a Smash Ball allows Wiggly Jr. to destroy the one at Yoshi's Island. At Nimbus Land, the two morphs are destroyed by Top, Oshy, Topper, Mario and Luigi, but once they do Count Bleah comes down with the intention of annihilating them.
Part 27-15: This Part's Name Is Not Cloud Vs. Cloud
The battle has run down Top, Oshy, Topper, Mario and Luigi, while Count Bleah is still going strong. It prepares to destroy all five of them with one attack when it is hit by an attack from Sub, who has arrived to stop it. After a difficult fight where sub seems outmatched, he attempts an Erishkigal to destroy Count Bleah, but it bypasses the attack entirely and is unharmed.
Part 27-16: Cloud Vs. Cloud
With everyone down, Count Bleah prepares to shoot an energy blast straight to Star World's core and detonate it from within, but The Cloud appears and stops it. The Cloud God-mods to prevent Count Bleah from doing anything until it changes form, becoming a cloud like The Cloud but darker, like a storm cloud. In this form, Count Bleah is able to counter against The Cloud, damaging it; it is now taking in energy from multiple dimensions, placing its power level at least nearly equal to The Cloud's. The two try to God-mod each other out, eventually leading to them slamming together. The energy output begins to damage the universe, growing dangerously close to shattering it, and the only way Topmonhit can stop it is by using a "Dimensional Displacement Devicement".
Part 27-17: A Really, Really, Really Epic Title
Everyone appears at their normal places. Top, Oshy and Topper at Gisho Castle; Mario and Luigi at their house; the Stormhunters at the SWDF Mushroom Kingdom base; Chills' Mafia at his office, though with smaller numbers unable to take the Iclan Kingdom with; and Squell, with a new bag of gems. No one remembers what happened; the last thing the Stormhunters and Chills' mafia remember is the attack on Chills' office building.
In The Cloud, Sub awakes and Topmonhit explains he scrambled the dimensions, causing Count Bleah to be thrown out of the universe and into another while changing the universe's location on the dimension of travel required to access different universes. Topmonhit shouts randomly about things before mentioning he erased the Stormchaser's and everyone's memories, they he was unable to erase Sub's. Topmonhit gives Sub some stuff ("electro-matter" and a container of energy he called "Mogdium," which was a made-up name.) Finally, though Sub asks Topmonhit to promise not to interfere, he gives Sub a remote to call forth The Cloud if the need ever arises. With that, Topmonhit teleports Sub out of The Cloud.

Trivia
- The game of Monopoly between Topmonhit and Chills was pre-determined in an actual game of Monopoly.
- This story is the introduction of Count Bleah's second body, a body made of cloud.
- Shem was originally supposed to hatch in this story, but as it was forgotten, it instead remained with Sub. However, as Topmonhit did not recognize Shem, it is assumed that he brought Shem to Mekkai (where Sub and Tron found it) sometime after this story.
- The Monopoly plot, in retrospect, was terrible.
- "facing down an oversized mutant gundam with tentacles used for rapping Plasshis and you're forced to use the power of hope"
- Count L and Part 27-2: The Mysterious Count L are references to Luigi's Mr. L persona in Super Paper Mario and the chapter title "Chapter 4-4: The Mysterious Mr. L".
- Part 27-6: For Better or Worse Markets is a reference to the phrase "for better or worse."
- Part 27-9: The Really Ridiculous Simile is a reference to Greek epics where they would go on and on describing just one thing with many different similes.
Connections to Other Stories
- This story ends a search by Subsourian for the power of The Cloud.
- At the end, Topmonhit mentions the warning Top, Oshy and Topper had been given in Return to Gisho about something returning. At the end of The Dark Cloud, Topmonhit tells Sub that it was not referrin to Neo-COUE (which was due to Sneezier believing that was whom it referred to). It referred to Metal Marauder returning in Inherit the Pokemon.
- Count Bleah was previously imprisoned at the end of Tick Tack Emissary.
- The Metal Army were on Distant Planet in Omega, where Athene and the Sapphire Legion had been taken over by a splinter of Count Bleah. In a special part of the same story, Subsourian comes across a moon that had a morph being grown by the splinter, where it was revealed that there were multiples of these (which would be the morphs that appear in this story).
- Count Bleah previously met Team TOT in the Topmonhit Story '07 Halloween Special: Bleah! Countdown to Doom, which he briefly mentions.
- Topmonhit mentions Fungus, whom Sub had previously met in The 1576 Kingdom Universe.
