Inherit the Pokemon
From Yb Timeline
"We leave this message for the extraterrestrials.
We know not how, or why, it will come.
Your life is limited, with no place here.
It shall be reversed, and then,
The world shall be re-inherited by Pokemon."
-Pokemon Sages' Prophecy
Inherit the Pokemon is a story starring the genius Pachirisu, Medulla, in an attempt to take over Pokeworld. In her attempt she is put on trial by a group of Pokemon Sages, rulers of the underworld, but this leads to her finding a conspiracy between the Electric and Steel sages to bring about a prophecy that Pokemon would rule over Pokeworld once more, even though sages are not supposed to mess with the outside world.

Story
Chapter 1: The Pokemon Inheritance
Part 1: The Dominating Prophecy
Medulla begins to feel down in her lab, as all her recent plans have failed on her, usually exploding in her face. She tries to think of a new plan when she overhears on the news of a new temple found in the Ruins of Alph. She forms a plan to go there and fabricate a message that names her as the chosen ruler of Pokeworld.
Part 2: Kanto James
Medulla arrives at the Ruins of Alph and traps the archeologists there in their cabin so she could get into the ruins without them finding her. She then enters the ruins and is knocked about by a flurry of traps until she passes out in a room.
Part 3: The Pokemon Inherit
Medulla awakes and hurries to carve in her prophecy, but instead finding another prophecizing that Pokemon would re-inherit Pokeworld. About that time the archeologists show up and she hides; they find the prophecy, but it gives her an idea and she leaves. Returning to her lab, she notes that Pokemon is both the plural and singular form of the word.
Chapter 2: The Pokemon Ruler
Part 4: The Prophecy Revealed
The archeologists present their findings at a presentation in Saffron City. After some questions from reporters are answered, Medulla interrupts the conference and claims that the true message was that she would rule the planet, not Pokemon in general.
Part 5: Differing Voices
Over the next week the recent event creates a buzz throughout Pokeworld until a small riot erupts in Goldenrod City. At this point the Pokeworld Defensive Forces issues a statement to try and calm the tension. Meanwhile, Medulla appears on the talk show Late Show with Davie Numberm'n, where she goes into her past and decries Team Rocket. Giovanni gets wind of this, and declares they need to capture Medulla so she would stop besmirching their name.
Part 6: Kidnapped!
As Medulla walked home in the winter snow, Some Rocket Grunt emerged from the shadows to capture her. Some Rocket Grunt attacks her with his Murkrow, Trapinch and Spinarak, but during the battle the PDF arrived to take out Medulla. The soldiers and Some Rocket Grunt end up distracting one another and Medulla escapes to her lab, only to be caught in a burlap sack. A Sleep Powder then incapacitates her.
Chapter 3: The Pokemon Sages
Part 7: Welcome to Olympus Cave
Medulla awakes in a cave and sees a Yanmega and Vileplume (the ones who kidnapped her), along with a Haunter. They call the cave Olympus Cave, and a Mew appears to tell Medulla she is on trial for misusing a prophecy of the Pokemon Sages. 12 sages appear, one for each Pokemon type except Fighting; as soon as roll call is completed, Laggle, a Gallade, arrives late.
Part 8: Medulla's Trial
Medulla's trial begins, but Medulla demands on what grounds they have to put her on trial. They explain that they are the Pokemon Sages, rulers of the underworld and the ones to keep the world in balance, and Medulla's use of the prophecy has put the world off-balance, something that breaks Pokemon Sage code. Medulla claims that she did not know of the code, and if she had she would not have broken it; furthermore, she believes it her right, duty, and destiny to someday rule Pokeworld.
The sages point out Medulla's actions have caused tensions to rise between humans and Pokemon; Medulla makes the case that she must ascend to power to bring humans under control, but the sages point out that Medulla caused further chaos (and still broke the code.) Finally they take a vote, each sage speaking their decision out loud. By the time they get to Mew a majority has already been made, but the final vote is six for not guilty and eleven for guilty. Medulla is declared guilty, and by a 14-3 margin she is placed in custody of Churzle, a Raichu and the electric sage. The sages then disperse and leave her to Churzle.
Part 9: The Prophecy Fulfiller
Churzle leads Medulla through a tunnel in Olympus Cave and he explains that he wants her to make a machine he was building work, something that can teleport people between the various underworlds. The Steel Devil appears and they explain (in song form) that the two of them wish to fulfill the prophecy with Medulla's help, by releasing the Pokemon from the underworld back onto Pokeworld, the realm of the living.
Although the rules state sages are not to mess with prophecies or Pokeworld, Churzle admits he's tired of the rules and wants to free Pokemon. The Steel Devil tells Medulla she can join them and be regarded as heroes and the leaders of the new Pokemon-ruled world. Medulla says she fixed the machine during the song, but Churzle and the Steel Devil betray her. She tries to take back the machine but it activates and hits her, sending her away and leaving the two sages to begin their plan.
Chapter 4: An Abnormal Day
Part 10: In the Wrong Death
With Medulla out of the way, Churzle and the Steel Devil return to their respective underworlds to rally the Pokemon there. Meanwhile, Medulla appears in the Normal-type underworld. She meets a Meowth who is suspicious of her, as non-Normal-types were not supposed to appear there. He leads her to a building and locks her in.
Part 11: A Test of Sorts
Medulla finds herself in a room with a Regigigas who labels her as an intruder, and forces a quiz onto her; if she fails, she will perish. She gets every question right until the final one (asking about Donald Duck's uncles), causing the Regigigas to pound her with a Mega Punch. A Buneary hears the commotion outside and opens the door, allowing Medulla to escape. She then confronts the Meowth, Meouroguard, and they begin to fight when Wuggles appears to stop them.
Part 12: Traveling Across Deaths
Wuggles brings Medulla to her temple, a house carved from a tree, and Medulla explains to him what Churzle and the Steel Devil were planning. Wuggles shows Medulla that he has a portal to the Fire-type Underworld, as each underworld has two portals to others in a loop. The Steel-type Underworld portal is closed, though, and he forgot the code to open it, so Medulla agrees to go through the Fire and Water-type underworlds to reach Churzle in the Electric-type Underworld.
Chapter 5: Feeling the Fiery Flames
Part 13: An Unwelcome Electric
After a choir of Fire Pokemon sing of Medulla's quest, Medulla finds herself in the Fire Underworld. As she is about to find Vire's temple, a Moltres appears out of nowhere and begins to attack Medulla. She suspects that, as Meouroguard thought she was there to cause trouble at the Normal-type Underworld, Moltres thinks she's there to cause trouble. She notices a power plant nearby and rushes inside to escape Moltres.
Part 14: Volcanoes Are So Yestertime
Medulla meets a Flareon and Torkoal who explains the Fire Plant to her. Moltres tries to get in and Medulla flees, finding a part of the Fire Planet set up like a temple. She enters and meets Vire, who has been told about Churzle's plan by Wuggles already. Vire explains that because only sages have complete control over the portals between underworlds, Medulla will be plopped at a random place each time. Furthermore, Pokemon will likely attack Medulla for being in the wrong underworld unless the sages alert the others that she has clearance, but she is unsure if she should give Medulla clearance.
Part 15: When You Wish Upon a Tail
Vire tells Medulla a tale about a beautiful Vulpix born only once in a thousand years, who became very haughty and proud because she believed it was her beauty that made her special, but over hundreds of years never evolved into a Ninetales; one day she met Jirachi, who refused to grant her a wish due to her attitude, so she tried to capture and sell it. Jirachi escaped and used its powers to make the Vulpix very ugly; the Vulpix became depressed and hid in the woods, only for an ancestor to come to her and tell her it was not her beauty, but her psychic powers that made her special, but the Vulpix realized it was neither of those but what she did with them that made her special. She returned to Jirachi, who refused to make her beautiful again, but the Vulpix accepted this. With this acceptance her true power came forth and she evolved into a Ninetales, but no longer cared about her beauty.
Vire tells Medulla she had voted her guilty to send her on a learning experience, but had not foreseen Churzle and the Steel Devil's plan. She contacts the other sages to warn them about the plan and that Medulla will likely be crossing through; with that, Medulla will no longer have to worry about Pokemon attacking her in the underworlds, and she heads into the Water-type Underworld.
Chapter 6: A High-Seas Adventure
Part 16: In Fact, It Is a Whale!
Medulla enters the Water Underworld and nearly falls into a huge ocean but lands on a Wailord, the mode of transportation for people in the underworld. She meets Muza, an Azumarill, Not-Quite-Very-Speedy-Polk, a Slowbro they call Pokey, Tops, a Kabutops, and Lulu, a Ludicolo. Lulu starts to dance with Medulla, but a group of Pokemon in the sea prepare to attack the Wailord...
Part 17: Bigmouth the Pirate
As they ride on the Wailord, it is suddenly attacked by a group of Sharpedo. A Feraligatr named Bigmouth the Pirate jumps onto the Wailord, declaring it is after the treasure stocked in every Wailord ferry. Medulla fights Bigmouth while Tops and Pokey try to keep the Sharpedo busy. Tops tries to get the Wailord to retaliate by poking it with a scythe, causing it to bounce into the sky and splash back into the sea.
Part 18: The Sea Queen
Bigmouth begins to get the advantage when Medulla provokes the Wailord to use Water Spout as Bigmouth is standing on the blowhole, sending him into the air. Medulla goes after him and hits him with an electric attack away from the Wailord so that she would not harm it. Bigmouth splashes back into the sea and flees, just as Neppietune chances to arrive. The Wailord's injures are healed, as it has already died once, and does not die until it has lived out its full life to the end. Medulla follows Neppietune to her temple, and prepares to enter the Electric Underworld to face Churzle, and perhaps other Pokemon whom Churzle has persuaded to his side.
Chapter 7: The Chase Begins
Part 19: The Tunnel Break-In
Medulla arrives at the Electirc Underworld, but finds things to be rather normal. An avalanche caused by the loud music of a hippie Pikachu, Colin, has blocked the path to Churzle's Temple, though. Medulla tries all her weapons to break in, but to no avail until Colin opens a path by using his loud music to vibrate the rocks free.
Part 20: Magnets Might
Churzle is relaxing in a hot tub in his temple when Medulla arrives, telling him the other sages know of his plan. Churzle flees and leads Medulla to a room where purple-pupilled Magnemite and Magneton attack her. Churzle then fled the Electric Underworld with the ray gun to go to the Grass Underworld. Medulla fought the Magnet Pokemon until Colin arrived and incapacitated the Magneton.
Part 21: Tron to the Moon 2: Tron Doesn't Appear
The roof of the cave falls apart and a massive Magnezone appears in the sky. Medulla and Colin work together to destroy it, and Medulla leaves to the Grass Underworld to chase after Churzle.
Chapter 8: In the Garden of… Stuff
Part 22: I Thought This Was Grass
When Medulla arrives in the Grass Underworld she finds it is horribly on fire. With all the Grass Pokemon panicking, Medulla uses Rain Dance to put out the fires. A Shiftry explains Churzle appeared and set all the trees on fire with Thunderbolts, then ran off to Villie's temple. Medulla goes off to Villie's temple to find if she is okay.
Part 23: The T(ree)ower With (Victree)Bellsprouts
Medulla arrives to a patch of flowers with flower-themed furniture, and sees Churzle holding Villie in a tree above. Churzle escapes to a large tree which Villie recognizes as Victreebel territory; Churzle has already convinced them to join him. Medulla arrives, but faces a large group of Victreebel; a Grovyle from earlier shows up to help her. As they beat back the Victreebel, Churzle decides to leave and teleports out of the underworld. During the fight a Victreebel grabs Medulla and prepares to eat her.
Part 24: Vegetarian Plants
Just before the Victreebel eats Medulla, a Carnivine appears and attacks the Victreebel. The two fight until the Carnivine eats the Victreebel; it reappears, as it was already dead, and the Carnivine eats the new Victreebel. This repeats until the Carnivine becomes so bloated it explodes; it then reappears as well and tries to resume eating the Victreebel. During this mess Medulla and the Grovyle reach Villie and escape back to her temple. Unsure of where Churzle went, Medulla decides to just continue forward and either find Churzle or reach the Steel Devil in the Steel Underworld. She moves on to the Ice Underworld.
Chapter 9: Frozen Fury
Part 25: 'Ice to Meet You
Medulla arrives in the Ice Underworld, a blanket of snow all around her. She sees a village of Sneasel and Weavile nearby and enters, but learns they were not informed of her coming. Medulla is led to the mayor, though the residents are suspicious; she meets with the mayor, Sneen, and explains about Churzle and her purpose there. Sneen decides to give her a map of the Ice Underworld, pointing out various villages and where Marswin's temple is, but warns her there's a thin frozen sea along the way that may shatter if she's not careful.
Part 26: And Now She's on an Ice Flow in the Middle of the Ice Underworld Somehow
As Medulla walks across the icy landscape, she begins to get chills and tries to use her flamethrower to warm the air around her, but finds it to be broken. She smacks it onto the ground in anger, causing the ice sea she's on to crack. The ice splits apart and she finds herself stranded in the middle of the sea, as Churzle and the Steel Devil watch this on satellite footage. However, a Lapras appears in the sea and offers to ferry Medulla to Marswin's temple.
Part 27: Sage Rage
Just as Medulla enters Marswin's temple she is slammed into the wall by Marswin, who doesn't believe Medulla about Churzle. Just as Marswin is about to finish her off, Villie interrupts the fight and tells Marswin what happened in the Grass Underworld. Marswin believes the account of a fellow sage, and allows Medulla passage to the next underworld.
Chapter 10: Playing With Poison
Part 28: A Breath of Fresh—A GRIMER AND A KIRLIA!?
Medulla arrives at the Poison Underworld, a vile wasteland of garbage and sludge and smog and industrial plants that looks like the Metal Army's type of place. As Medulla goes through the underworld she realizes she can't breathe due to all the smog and loses consciousness, having a dream about her life just before she was captured by Team Rocket. Medulla awakes and finds herself in a shack with an oxygen helmet on, given to her by a Grimer and a Kirlia; the Kirlia is also wearing an oxygen helmet, and explains that on occasion Pokemon not normally of an underworld's type is allowed to live there, such as the case of the Grimer and Kirlia who are in love. Gross.
Part 29: I Call it Pittsburgh!
Medulla finds Murk's temple and learns Churzle has not been seen around, so she prepares to go to the next underworld but finds out it was eaten by the world's largest Swalot. Medulla goes out to look for it and is brought by a Nidorino to a group of the Nidoran family; a Nidoking arrives to beat her up, but she freezes it with an Ice Beam gun and threatens the rest with a Psybeam gun. A female Nidoran shows her to the giant Swalot, its size towering over some of the buildings in the underworld. To get inside to the portal, Medulla disguises herself as a hamburger and the Swalot eats her.
Part 30: Chippy & Medulla: Swalot's Inside Story
Inside the Swalot, Medulla meets a leppa berry named Chippy. A tomato berry named Tom Ato appears and declares everything there to be its, including Medulla, and it attacked her with various berry-based weapons. During the fight a hippie van is knocked into the central stomach nerve and causes the Swalot to spew everything it had eaten out. Medulla falls into the portal leading to the next underworld.
Chapter 11: A Surprise Unearthed
Part 31: Ground Beef. Wait, There's No Beef.
Medulla arrives at the Ground Underworld and realizes she has not eaten for a considerable amount of time. At what looks like a desert outpost, Medulla goes to a restaurant and a Gligar takes her order, then points her to a green-quilled Sandslash who knows where Doug the sage is. The Sandslash sends Medulla to an Onix-shaped rock formation where a tremor begins.
Part 32: Some Kinda Prophecy
Groudon bursts up from the ground; it notices Medulla, and speaks with a cockney accent. It brings her to an underground cavern and directs her to a prophecy, the same prophecy that was written in the Ruins of Alph. There are also several drawings accompanying it, one of the seventeen sages with a Pachirisu in the center, another showing the seventeen underworlds in a circle and an arrow going through them to the Steel Underworld, with an X in it, then several humans with X's drawn through them and an image of Pokeworld with space around it and an arrow pointing from space to the planet. The final drawing is of a computer.
Part 33: Medulla's Part
Medulla returns to the outpost after learning Doug's temple was not where the Sandslash, Tig, had directed her, she demands it tell her where the sage is. Doug then appears, telling her he was the one to send her to the cavern. He brings her to his temple and explains the prophecy suggests a thread from space is involved in the prophecy, but as neither Churzle nor the Steel Devil are from space, it's a mystery and Medulla just continues on to the next underworld.
Chapter 12: Rocks. Just... That's All I Got.
Part 34: Aggravating Aggron
Medulla arrives in the Rock Underworld and finds an Aggron named Galdron has become enraged with a purple tint in his eyes. Medulla and the Rock-type Pokemon attempt to knock him out and succeed. When he awakes he has returned to normal; he says he got an excruciating headache and Medulla suggests that he was trying to block it out with physical pain. With Galdron's headache gone, Medulla prepares to enter the next underworld.
Part 35: Portal Snatcher
After pushing through a pile of fallen rocks that block the way to the temple, likely caused by Galdron's rampaging, they arrive to Shunnie's temple only to find Churzle holding the portal to the next underworld. He flees and Medulla gives chase; he traps her in a section of the cave and two paintings of a Solrock and Lunatone on the wall begin to glow.
Part 36: Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright Rock-Hard Slam Down!
A Lunatone and Solrock come out from the wall and attack Medulla. She destroys both of them, freeing her from the cave. She catches up to Churzle, and Galdron appears to attack Churzle, making him lose the portal. He escapes out of the underworld, and Medulla enters the portal to the next underworld.
Chapter 13: Bogged and Bugged Down
Part 37: Birds 'n' Bees and, Well, Just Bees
Medulla arrives in the Bug Underworld, a bog, and accidentally breaks a nest of Combee. The angry Combee chase her through the bog as she splashes about through the murky water. She meets a Parasect named Paafa who gives her a mushroom that she uses as a disguise to lead the Combee away, and then Paafa leads her to Yana's temple.
Part 38: Weirdest Hobby Ever
Medulla arrives at Yana's temple, a broken-down laboratory she calls a templatory. It is eerily empty, with everything shattered and broken; as Medulla looks through the templatory Yana appears and surprises her. She prepares to leave the underworld when Medulla stumbles upon a secret room of Yana's filled with humans in large canisters. Yana proclaims that just as some humans are bug catches, she's a human catcher. Just as they're discussing this a PDF soldier breaks out of one of the canisters and tries to free all the humans
Part 39: The Human Problem
The PDF soldier fires his lasgun at Medulla and Yana, who hide behind the bookshelf. They realize the PDF soldier may be trying to break open the canisters and they go out to stop him. Medulla paralyzes him, but tells Yana she should let the humans go. Yana says she can't; the humans she has are dead. She explains that when humans die on Pokeworld, they are unable to go to any of the 17 underworlds and instead float about in limbo until they fade away or she catches them and brings them there. She puts the soldier in a new canister and sends Medulla off to the next underworld.
Chapter 14: This Must Be A “Fight a Buncha Minibosses!” Chapter!
Part 40: Stop Hitting Me, Mon!
Medulla appears in the Fighting Underworld, which looks like a dojo. She encounters a Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan duo named Ston and Mac who battle her. She wins and they open the door to the next room for her.
Part 41: HMM, I WONDER WHO THIS CHARACTER COULD BE
In the next room, Medulla meets a Hitmontop who introduces himself as Topryn. He says he had fought his way in the sector they were in to become the shogun. He points Medulla down a passageway to Laggle's temple. Medulla enters to find Laggle and Churzle battling, but Churzle with the upper hand due to Laggle always lagging in everything he does. Medulla joins the fight.
Part 42: I HAVE FURY!
Medulla and Churzle continue to fight until an enraged Primeape appears and pummels them both. Churzle flees the underworld, and Medulla is pummeled until Topryn arrives and knocks out the Primeape. He explains to Medulla that Laggle lives in the past, as opposed to some people who can see the future. It's weird but kind of funny. Medulla leaves to the Psychic Underworld.
Chapter 15: The Universe at a Glance
Part 43: Tour of an Underworld
The Psychic Underworld is inside a building, the floor carpeted and with plush chairs in what looks like a waiting room, the outer wall glass that shows outer space. Medulla arrives just as a tour for newcomers run by a Wobbuffet is beginning, and she goes with them to get to Mew. The tour members begin to grate on Medulla's nerves, but Mew eventually arrives.
Part 44: Cosmic Scene
As Mew brings Medulla to its temple, it explains that no one has been able to figure out what's going on at the Steel Underworld. However, before sending Medulla on her way, Mew tries to show Medulla that she alone is too small in the grand scheme of things to rule Pokeworld, but it instead strengthens her desire to rule Pokeworld. As Mew tries to dissuade her an alarm sounds; something is wrong.
Part 45: The Future of Today Makes Tomorrow Like Yesterday!
Mew and Medulla find three Xatu who state that they have predicted doom; specifically, they have foreseen the collapse of an underworld, metaphorically speaking: it will become unusable. Before they can go further Churzle appears and attacks them, leaving a group of Beldum with purple eyes to attack them. One of the Beldum breaks Medulla's flamethrower, and a subsequent electric attack causes it to explode and scatter the Beldum. Mew teleports Medulla to its temple and sent her to the next underworld, noting something was wrong with the Beldum and foreseeing trouble ahead.
Chapter 16: A High-Flying Adventure
Part 46: Even Here.
Medulla appears in a blue sky and begins falling, but cannot even see any ground below. After a while of falling she lands in a basket of a hot-air balloon manned by Hey You. He sang a ridiculous song and played ridiculous instruments, and then the balloon exploded because he's a dodo and dodos can't fly. As they fall, Hey You tells Medulla there's no ground in the Flying Underworld; they eventually land on a Fearow flying by, who explains Nocrelle told it that Medulla would be coming.
Part 47: Full of Hot Air
As the Fearow flies them to Nocrelle's temple, Medulla tries to figure out the gravity in the underworld; Hey You jumps off, but simply falls back from above onto Medulla. As they fly, the Fearow is hit by a Thunderbolt and Churzle arrives in a hot-air balloon. Medulla grabs onto a rope hanging from the hot-air balloon as Hey You jumps onto the balloon itself, popping it with his beak. Churzle goes flying off with the balloon, and Medulla begins to fall again but lands on Nocrelle, who says she has seen the future and that Churzle won't bother the underworld again.
Part 48: Rainbow Cruise
Nocrelle explains that she knew labeling Medulla as guilty and giving her custody to Churzle would lead to bad consequences, thus her vote for not guilty, but that attempting to change the future leads to disaster, as she once tried to do. As they near a large cruise ship they hear explosions and screaming, and find Churzle there attacking it despite what Nocrelle foresaw. During the fight, Churzle is tied to Hey You via a rope and a group of Flying-type Pokemon use Whirlwind to blow him off the cruise; as he falls, Churzle teleports himself and Hey You out of the underworld. Nocrelle concludes that she is losing her foresight with her old age, and considers retiring. She brings Medulla to the Ghost Underworld portal, but warns her that it may be unwelcoming to her.
Chapter 17: A Ghost of its Former Underworld
Part 49: This Underworld Sure Makes Sense
Medulla enters a spooky graveyard with tombstones about, the Ghost Underworld. At first there seems to be no one about, but a Sableye named Nable appears and says he will lead her to the sage, but instead shoves her down into a valley where a bunch of Ghost-type Pokemon are mining. She is shacked by a Duskull and sent to work.
Part 50: Graveyard Shift/Return of Hell
A Misdreavus explains to Medulla that a couple years ago a pitch-black Haunter arrived and tried to get out. It went to the distortion part of the underworld, where Giratina lived, and absorbed it; it began to attack the underworld, and as Hellter was unable to stop it, he fled to the realm of the living. The black Haunter then escaped through a separate portal to the realm of the living; with the sage gone, Nable rounded up all the Pokemon and forced them to mine for gems for him to eat.
The Misdreavus adds that there are no gems in the cave, but that Nable blames them for the lack of gems; once one of the Duskull guards tried to tell him this, and he cracked its skull. However, just as the story is finishing Nable falls into the valley and Hellter arrives to end his reign, though Nable's time was almost up anyway; it would soon (whatever yoshidot's afterlife was). Hellter brings Medulla to an old shack, its temple, and sends her to the next underworld.
Chapter 18: A Mid-Evil Medieval Time
Part 51: THE HUMAN! THE HUMAN! THE HUMAN!
Medulla arrives at the Dragon Underworld, a land that looks medieval and straight out of King Arthur. Medulla enters a castle and hears sounds of fighting, believing that Churzle had arrived and was fighting Garzella; however, it was instead a sparring match between her and a Flygon. After the match Garzella brings Medulla to the portals, but they overhear a warning bell and find a gigantic, armored human knight was walking towards the castle. Garzella orders their best military minds to be gathered up to defend against the human.
Part 52: The Draggin' On Meeting
As the giant human begins to attack the land, Garzella holds a meeting where no one has any constructive suggestions. After everyone shouts nonsense, Garzella realizes Medulla is gone; she has gone to the village to try and get a Pokemon with wings to fly her to Rayquaza and have it destroy the human.
Part 53: By No Means a Change of Pace
Medulla flies into the sky on an Altaria to find Rayquaza, who shouts at them and then attacks them with a Hyper Beam. Medulla and the Altaria duck and the Hyper Beam flies down and smashes the human, who reveals to be mechanized and controlled by Churzle. Churzle escapes the underworld, and Medulla returns to the ground. Garzella brings Medulla to the next portal, leading to the Dark Underworld.
Chapter 19: The Darkness Spreads
Part 54: It's All Coming Together
At the Steel Underworld, the Steel Devil sings about how its plan is all coming together. Churzle then contacts it from the Dark Underworld, a dark and dreary place, where he says things have gone extremely successful. Meanwhile, Medulla arrives in the Dark Underworld, which looks a bit like the normal Pokeworld but at night, but upon arrival a bunch of Dark-type Pokemon attack her. Churzle has already convinced them to join him.
Part 55: No Taxation Without Representation!
Medulla flees from the Dark-type Pokemon, and is pulled under a bridge by Scorpino, in hiding with a Nuzleaf and Scorpino. Darkrai arrives to help them, and Medulla and the Nuzleaf flee to the temple, a large and dark castle, to get to the Steel Underworld.
Part 56: The Dark Star. Well, Dark Spiritomb.
When Medulla and the Nuzleaf reach the portal room, a Spiritomb reveals to have taken over it. They fight the Spiritomb and destroy its keystone, making it lose control over the portal. With that, Medulla enters the portal to the Steel Underworld.
Chapter 20: Metal Marauder
Part 57: The Steel Army
Medulla enters the Steel Underworld to find it a vast, industrial world with tall, iron buildings and factories all about. She sees Magnemite and Beldum evolutions flying about with purple tints in their eyes; as she watches she is slammed into by Churzle's back; Churzle is bruised and beaten-up. The Steel Devil arrives and reveals it was betraying Churzle, letting him keep all the other underworlds busy while it builds a grand army in the Steel Underworld. The Steel Devil plans to eradicate them both and Medulla fights it, destroying at least one building in the process.
Part 58: The Death Metal Lord
Medulla and the Steel Devil continue to fight, causing even more collateral damage in the Steel Underworld. Just as the Steel Devil has the advantage Churzle arrives to help her. Together they're able to blast the Steel Devil and knock it out. Churzle explains he wanted more fame than a sage normally has, but didn't know the Steel Devil had its own motive. Somehow it had brought the Pokemon in the underworld completely under its control, but as they're speaking something large and bowl-shaped flies down towards them.
Part 59: The Metal Multiplier
A Koopa Clown Car flies down from above, carrying several robotic machines: a drone disc, battle rifle, ROB, Mechakoopa, Metal Slug Annihilator, and large wheeled computer with a monitor. The machines introduce themselves as Metal Marauder, formerly known as Metal Top. It explains how its consciousness was reawoken after Dark Top and Dimentio inserted a magic virus into it, and it now had the ability to download its personality into other computerized machines, erasing the previous personality and creating a copy of it. At this point they realize no one there knew it as Metal Top, so no one knows what it was talking about.
The Metal Marauders also add that the Steel Devil, along with all the Magnemite and Beldum evolutions, are also copies of Metal Marauder. Steel Pokemon that aren't as robots were placed in a cage with such horrendous steel vibrations that they would slowly go insane--just like Galdron at the Rock Underworld. Metal Marauder then prepares to destroy Medulla and Churzle and take the underworld teleportation ray from them.
Part 60: The End of the Steel Underwood
The Metal Marauders fight Medulla and Churzle; during the fight a building nearly collapses on everyone. The computer Metal Marauder decides to have the Metal Marauder Pokemon attack her, having three Metagross fight her at once. Magnemite and its evolutions attack Churzle; he realizes they can't get the teleporter ray or they could spread into every underworld with ease, and flees, grabbing Medulla along the way.
Churzle calls Wuggles and Scorpino (who is still fighting), telling them to activate the emergency shut down of the Steel Underworld portals. Both believe he is up to something, but Medulla grabs the phone and tells them to do it. Scorpino is busy fighting and can't, though, so Medulla and Churzle rush for the Steel Devil's temple. They arrive, but the Metal Marauders try to collapse the temple. After most of the top floor collapses, the Metal Marauders enter and attempt to blast them, but they escape to an elevator that leads to the portal room.
Medulla and Churzle enter the portal and reach the Dark Underworld, then quickly close the portal with Scorpino giving them the code so the Metal Marauders are stuck, as an emergency shutdown of a portal can only be opened with the sages on both sides of the portal. They realize Scorpino is still under attack and rush to stop the fighting, as the Mechakoopa Metal Marauder tells the others they may still be able to escape. Churzle and Medulla go out to tell the Pokemon of the Dark Underworld that Churzle's plan is no more, and that the Pokemon will not be able to return to the realm of the living.
Scorpino pardons the Pokemon, as they were manipulated, but does not quite believe that Churzle had been manipulated. Churzle explains what happened in the Steel Underworld, and Medulla vouches for him. She is returned to the realm of the living to find a month has passed, and she has fallen out of the public eye, no longer allowing for the plan that began it all. The sages have another meeting, and Mew says Churzle will be put on probation and be kept on watch by Villie and Doug. As for the Steel Underworld, it is now unusable and Shunnie agrees to take in new Steel-type Pokemon until they can use it again.
Meanwhile, at Iron Island, in a hard-to-reach place that few can reach, a door opens and Metal Marauder escapes the Steel Underworld.
Regi Quiz 98
"QUESTION 1: YOU ARE A BULBASAUR! YOU ENTER A FIGHT AGAINST A WEEDLE! DO YOU USE VINE WHIP, POISONPOWDER, GROWTH, OR SYNTHESIS!?”
“All four of those attacks are at a disadvantage. Vine Whip is exceedingly weak against a Weedle, Poisonpowder would not affect it, Growth increases Special Attack, but as Vine Whip is a physical attack, it is useless, and Synthesis depends on the Bulbasaur's hit points. In the end, Vine Whip is the only true choice.”
