Story
Part 18-1: Some Good Comedic Value
The scene starts out on a peaceful meadow with some butterflies and birds. The silence is immediately broken by a scream, however, and Doopliss appeared in the distance, running from Chibi, who was holding a cake (and yelling that it didn't have a love potion in it). Eventually Doopliss ran right into a sign though, and Chibi was able to catch up to him. She was going to break the sign for being in the way when she realized the image on the sign was of a young, light blue duplighost with a strange, curly thing on his head.
The two recognized him as Gluposs, although younger than they remembered. Behind the sign they saw a clubba in a butler suit with no club, who introduced himself as Butla. Butla asked them if they knew "Master Gluposs" and told them to read the sign; Chibi read it, and read that Gluposs, heir to the Klisk Estate, was missing. Doopliss recognized the Klisk name as the richest duplighosts on Star World. Chibi continued on, reading that anyone who knew the location of Gluposs and returned him safely to the Klisk mansion would be rewarded 10,000 coins.
Ecstatic at the prospect of 10,000 coins, Chibi forgot all about her cake and she and Doopliss ran to Shiver Mountain. There, they climbed up the steps until they realized flying would be much easier, although Doopliss accidently poofed into a paracleft and, being so heavy, was unable to fly and still had to hop up. Eventually he reached the top, but then Chibi gave him a hug which caused him to slip down the stairs (now with Chibi, and they fell all the way back to the bottom.
Part 18-2: Gluposs Comes Home
Eventually, by some miracle of modern science, Chibi and Doopliss made it up the mountain and into the Crystal Palace. They began to look for Gluposs' secret room, and Chibi began to hammer the walls, eventually knocking down Gluposs' door. Gluposs recognized them, and they told him his parents died and he was inheriting stuff. He refused to go, and was about to explain why when a yellow powder filled the room. Gluposs realized "they" must have followed Chibi and Doopliss, and when the powder dissipated, the three were unable to move.
Butla came into the room, and took Gluposs, saying he was taking orders from someone above Gluposs; Chibi demanded the money, but Butla said he returned Gluposs, not them, According to Doopliss, this meant "the butler did it." In the Klisk cab, Butla told Gluposs that he shouldn't run away again, and that his parents had been worried about him. Gluposs said they were worried he wouldn't turn out how they wanted. Once they arrived at the Klisk mansion, Gluposs was brought inside after a voice asked if they had him, and Butla said they could finish what they started. An hour later, Chibi and Doopliss were able to move, and went to Russ T.'s house to find where the Klisk mansion was. After getting the information they needed, Chibi knocked down his books and they ran out.
Part 18-3: How To Be a Proper Improper
Later that night, inside the Klisk mansion, Gluposs was sitting at a table with a shroom steak on a plate. His head was down, and there was a "THUMP" coming from outside the room. Just then, someone told him to "Lift your head up", "Stop slouching" and "Take your elbows off the table". With each statement was a WHACK and Gluposs was hit in the back of the head with a paddle.
Gluposs complained that duplighosts don't have elbows, but was whacked again, and shown that it was by a pink duplighost with a blue flower on her head. She told him civilized men do not talk back to ladies that way, and that if he was to be a proper gentleman, he would need to learn these things. Gluposs said he had a learning disability, which was answered with another paddle whack. This went on all night.
The next day, Chibi slammed on the mansion front door with her hammer, trying to get in. Several seconds later, Butla answered the door, stating that "Mr. Blutz and Mrs. Regina are not accepting visitors today." Butla then shut the door before Chibi could rant. Doopliss thought he said Blutz and Regina, Gluposs' parents, had died. Chibi continued to slam the door, wanting in, when someone spoke up, saying Chibi still had that temper. Beldam and Marilyn then came out of the shadows, but Doopliss reminded Chibi that they stopped doing evil.
Beldam said they were there to bring a lost child back to his parents, though they all admitted they were just there for the money, but Chibi complained they ripped her off and won't give her any money. Beldam decided to go into the shadows with Marilyn, which gave Doopliss an idea. Inside the mansion, Gluposs was looking miserable and had a seed on his head. Just then, however, four shadow creatures appeared, two of which were Beldam and Marilyn and the others poofed back into Chibi and Doopliss.
Gluposs thought was saved and tried to run to them, but was hit with the paddle by the pink duplighost, whom Doopliss exclaimed was "hot" (producing a very angry look from Chibi). Beldam and Chibi both said they were there to get money for the return of Gluposs, but the pink duplighost said they would only be leaving and tossed out a Pokeball, releasing a Jumpluff. The Jumpluff was about to use Stun Spore when the wall burst apart and a Spheal ran in, which Gluposs called Sphealy. Sphealy used Blizzard, filling the room with a blizzard, and they escaped after Chibi slammed the door down with her hammer.
Part 18-4: Switcharoo
Chibi, Doopliss, Gluposs, Sphealy, Beldam, and Marilyn ran into Gluposs' room, and it was locked. Gluposs began to explain to them that on his 13th birthday, his parents brought him to the Pokeworld to get his own Pokemon, which was Sphealy. Unfortunately, when he returned, he was told that he was going to be married to Duplibi, the pink duplighost. She was determined to make him a proper, high-class gentleman, which he couldn't take, and so he ran away. And the seed on his head was a Worry Seed from Duplibi's Jumpluff.
During those times, said Gluposs, Sphealy was his only friend, but he had to leave it behind (for reasons he didn't remember). He got a room at Crystal Palace, and made a new life there. Beldam said that despite this, they were here for money, and wouldn't leave without it. Gluposs said his parents never intended to pay anyone, so Beldam suggested they hold Gluposs hostage. After Chibi said Beldam wasn't doing evil anymore, she said she would split the money with Chibi 50/50, and Chibi agreed, trying to attack Gluposs.
Sphealy attacked Chibi, trying to protect Gluposs, and Marilyn attacked Sphealy, who rolled around to avoid the attacks. Beldam tried to grab Gluposs, but Gluposs jumped away onto Doopliss, after which Chibi jumped at them and a cartoon cloud began to occur during the fight, which ended in Chibi accidently slamming Doopliss with her hammer. Just then, a yellow cloud began to make its way into the room; Stun Spore. Soon Duplibi got her way in, and with them all paralyzed, she threw them all out save Gluposs and returned to "training" him.
Chibi and Beldam were enraged, but Doopliss told them that you could never trust a duplighost too far, after which he poofed back into Gluposs! The cartoon cloud of fighting was actually him and Doopliss poofing into one another, and he poofed into Sonic the Hedgehog and dashed off back to the Crystal Palace. Beldam decided it was a lost cause now that Gluposs was gone, and she and Marilyn left. Chibi, however, realized that meant Doopliss had switched places with Gluposs!
Inside the mansion, Duplibi asked "Gluposs" if he would be a good boy now when Chibi crashed through the wall and slammed "Gluposs" with her hammer, poofing him back into Doopliss. Duplibi was angered, asking where Gluposs was, and Chibi said he bailed on her. With that, Chibi dragged Doopliss out, saying they should go eat some cake. Meanwhile, in the Crystal Palace, Gluposs looked at a picture of Sphealy, saying he would come back for him someday.
Trivia
- The story was originally planned far earlier than it was made, but the story and plot seemed a bit too short to make a full story. Later, when the idea to include Chibi and Dooplis was added, Topmonhit decided to make the story.
- The plot is mostly based off the Pokemon Anime episode "Holy Matrimony!" ("Growlithe and James" in Japan).
- Chibi says her cake isn't a lie.
- With the exception of one line (in which neither are even seen), Blutz and Regina do not actually appear in this story.
Connections to Other Stories
- This is Gluposs' first appearance since Stop 'n' Swop Yoshi Bodyguards.
- Gluposs would appear in the very next story, The Legend in the Stars, which was the reason this story had to occur by #18.
- When Chibi and Doopliss went to Toad Town, there was a large island at the Toad Town docks; this is the island in Ius Mystery, which this story occured at the same time as.
