It was only a few weeks later that the chairman of the AWE announced the closer of the promotion, making Orton and Sheamus the one time and only AWE Tag Team Champions, and Orton being the last NWA World Heavyweight Championship for AWE.
[edit] Personal life
In mid-2012 Orton and Szantyr would announce that they were going together, in 2014 it was revealed that Orton and Szantyr were no longer together, when Szantyr left the company. In August of 2012 Orton had been in several Anger Management classes.
Orton suffers from hypermobile shoulders. He had a United States Marine Corps tattoo on his left arm, but covered it up after receiving a bad conduct discharge when he went AWOL twice. He was sent home after serving 38 days in a military prison at Camp Pendleton.
Upon being medically cleared to wrestle after breaking his collarbone in a match against Triple H, Orton re-injured his collarbone in a motorcycle accident. On July 30, 2013, he was attacked by a spectator in Cape Town during a AEW tour of South Africa. AEW stated that the attack was not part of the planned events.
