[edit] Debut (2011)

Eric Young debuted in November 2011 teaming with Sable to take on the team of CM Punk & Maryse. He also was apart of a 10 man battle royal to determine the final entrant into the lucky 7 triple cage match at Ultimate Ascension a week after his debut. The match was eventually won by friend Petey Williams who was making his AEW debut.

[edit] Personality storyline (2011-2012)

After losing to Chyna, Eric decided to go on a search for a manager. Possible candidates included Santino Marella, Hornswoggle, and Buff Bagwell. Eric decided that none of the candidates would work. From that point forward, Eric appointed himself as his own manager. From then on, Eric has been flipping back and fourth from the funny, nice Eric to his manager who comes off as the arrogant, obnoxious side of Eric. Nobody knows which side will show up on a secondly basis.

With his manager, Eric advanced to the finals of the Light Heavyweight Title tournament in which he fell short yet again to long time friend Petey Williams. Petey scored the pinfall over Alex Shelley leaving Eric in the backseat for a second time since their debut. The Wrestler Eric is second guessing Petey Williams, while the manager Eric is enjoying what Petey is trying to accomplish.

After the start of 2012, Eric's split personality became a bigger part of his matches, and his actions backstage. Eric challenged Cactus Jack to a normal non-title match verbally assaulting the Champion. To no avail, Cactus Jack never answers the challenge. The following week, strange occurrences began to happen to both Cactus Jack and the Number One Contender for the Light Heavyweight Title, AJ Styles. This instantly pointed blame to both Eric Young and Petey Williams. Both Eric and Petey denied all allegations. The next week, while Cactus Jack has still yet to answer any of Eric's challenges, a forklift nearly crushed the Television Champion. Just in the knick of time, Eric Young saved Cactus by tackling him out of the way. When they both stood up, a masked figure appeared in the shadows where the Forklift came from. This took all blame away from Eric, and put all on Petey Williams. As a token of owner Shane McMahon's apology, he granted Eric Young a match for the Television Championship at New Years Revenge.

[edit] Team Canada (2012)

At the first Pay-Per-View of the New Year, New Years Revenge, Eric Young was set to take on Cactus Jack for the Television title. Just before the match took place, Eric Young ran to the ring to assist Petey Williams in a battle with Evolution after his match with AJ Styles. Before the scuffle broke loose, the masked man appeared behind Evolution, attacking each one of their members. It was later revealed that Bobby Roode had been behind all of the attacks since day one. Team Canada was formed. Eric Young also went on to defeat Cactus Jack, and was crowned the third ever AEW Television Champion. The very next night, Petey Williams, Eric Young and Bobby Roode introduced Lance Storm as the newest member of Team Canada. Eric then went on the following week to face Colt Cabana for his Television Title. Colt had been on a 4 match undefeated streak, and had already beaten Eric a few weeks prior with the distraction of Cactus Jack. Eric and Colt battled to the time limit, which kept the title around Eric's waste. This was a busy night for Team Canada. Not only did Eric Young keep his title, they also officially added Trish Stratus, and Johnny Devine to Team Canada. They also were in a scuffle with newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion, Taz. The scuffled continued a week later, which eventually lead to Taz challenging Team Canada to a 4 on 4 Wargames Match at AEW Wrestle War. Team Canada will consist of Eric Young, Petey Williams, Lance Storm and newly added member, Johnny Devine. Team Taz will consist of Taz, Ultimate Warrior, Jon Moxley, & CM Punk.

[edit] Singles & World Championship Run (2012-2013)

Although Eric Young was still considered part of Team Canada the stable itself seemed to fizzle out which gave Eric the perfect chance to grab a manager, Jeremy Borash, before making a singles run. After winning a few matches he was entered into the 2012 Summer of Destiny tournament where the winner would receive a World Title shot. After winning his qualifying and semi-finals match he looked to go onto the pay-per-view by the same name of the tournament looking for the biggest win of his career. In the finals he was up against Daniel Bryan and the two went back and forth all match but it was Eric Young who came out victories. With the win he was guaranteed a World Title Match.

Throughout this time Eric Young had befriended a goat that always would accompany him during any backstage segment. For whatever reason it worked wonders for getting him in the mindset to beat people that he had no right beating.

On the Anniversary show for Concussion Eric Young was involved in a Triple Threat Match with Bray Wyatt and the World Champion, Colt Cabana with the title on the line. Eric saw himself lose the match but that didn't deter him. In the following month he began a feud with the current Money in the Bank holder, Damien Sandow. The two squared off at the next pay-per-view Rapture which saw Eric get the victory. Not long after that Damien Sandow cashed in his briefcase to win the world title and due to the already massive main event scene a Triple Tier Cage match with 7 participants was announced for Ultimate Ascension. It would feature the World Champion, Damien Sandow, Eric Young, The Miz, Randy Orton, Scott Steiner, Chris Hero, and Cactus Jack. In the final moments of the match both Eric Young and Damien Sandow fell off the cage clutching the World Title. It was later revealed that due to them both having the title as they got off the cage that the match was a draw.

The feud continued with Damien Sandow until a Last Man Standing Match was made for the next pay-per-view, Last Stand. The World Championship was on the line and with a little help from Scott Steiner, Damien Sandow's former ally Eric Young achieved his dream by winning the World Championship.

Eric Young took a lot of heat over the months since the Summer of Destiny though due to his manager's outspokenness about the company and believing that they needed to push Eric harder along with bringing to light the amount of attacks that occurred throughout the last 7 months. Because of this there were a lot of people who wanted to get their hands on Eric so in his first title defense an Elimination Chamber match was announced for No Escape. Eric Young had to defend his title against Scott Steiner, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Sterling James Keenan and Abyss. This match saw Scott Steiner dethrone Eric after just a month of being the World Champion.

Following the loss of the World Title Eric was trying to be focused on getting the title back but his manager ended up leaving him. After searching for him for weeks on end he ended up deciding he can do it alone. He planned on making a statement at the next pay-per-view, Wrestle War however came up short in the Wrestle War main event. With another loss Eric looked to try and reclaim his title with his rematch clause as he took on Sterling James Keenan. Before the match happened however Sterling sacrificed the goat that Eric came to love as his own. The match took place in a cage and the two men beat the hell out of each other before Sterling came away with the win after outside interference. It was at this moment that Eric decided he needed a break and left Attitude Era Wrestling.
