The beginning was ran by Shane McMahon and part of the 2011 were ran by Taz at the end of 2011. Until Shane McMahon unexpectedly disappeared without a trace of what he was. Chris Jericho became the first-ever Attitude Era Wrestling (AEW) World Heavyweight Championship after winning a Triple tier cage match at Ultimate Ascension and would hold the title belt through 2011.

Beginning the 2012 year, Taz won the AEW Championship from Chris Jericho, until Randy Orton defeated Taz to win the AEW Championship. the AEW Championship continued to change hands from there. After Orton defeated Taz, Taz would return to AEW as the "Director of Authority" from there on Shane McMahon has not been seen in AEW. After months of being away from Attitude Era Wrestling, and after watching Paul Heyman entered the scene of majority owner, Shane McMahon has returned to bring his company back into the right ownership of his own, at the Ultimate Ascension McMahon tried to take his company back from Heyman and Reks, but thanks to Shawn Michaels Taz and McMahon lost, on the December 3 episode of Concussion with the help of Randy Orton, Shane McMahon continued his rampage to gain back control of HIS Attitude Era Wrestling but with the debuting of Rob Van Dam and Val Venis the plan backfired, However at The Last Stand pay-per-view McMahon has challenged Heyman to a Five-on-five Elimination match with Team AEW facing Team wMe, if Team AEW wins Shane gets control back of his company and if Team wMe wins Heyman wins the company.

At the The Last Stand pay-per-view that was moved to January a team of 5-AEW superstars will face off with a team of 5-wMe superstars in a "Winner Take All" match for the company.
