KFFS-CA is a Class A low power television station in Fayetteville, Arkansas, broadcasting in analog on VHF channel 36 as an affiliate of The CW.The station is owned by Taylor Media Stations Group. It is a sister station to Anime TV affiliate KWFT-LP, and Telemundo Affiliate KEGW-LP. Like many Taylor Media stations, KFFS-CA is controlled remotely via satellite from Taylor Media headquarters in Macon, Georgia, and is relayed in encrypted form via the satellite Taylorcom 5 (Ku-band transponder 10).
History
The station began as a translator for KFDF-CA, a Retro Television Network affiliate. In October 1988, Equity Broadcasting transferred the licence to Taylor Media Stations, who brought the station on the air and obtained its initial license on March 30, 2007..
KFFS-CA dropped its RTN affiliation in April 2007, Taylor Media Stations Group originally announced that the station would affiliate with The CW, instead of retransmitting programming from KFDF-CA, which Fort Smith had no CW affiliate.
