Anime is a cable channel serving the Knoxville, Tennessee area. WMAK is one of a few stations in the US to sign on exclusively as a digital station, with no full-powered analog counterpart. WMAK also has two low-powered, Class-A analog repeaters in the Knoxville area: WEZK-LP Channel 28 in Knoxville, and WJZC-LP Channel 22 in Sevierville.

WMAK is owned by Knoxville Channel 7, LLC, a venture of South Central Communications (which also owns radio stations in Knoxville) and under a local marketing agreement with Taylor Media Stations Group. (This venture owns only WMAK; the low-powered analog repeaters are wholly owned by South Central Communications.)

WMAK signed on the air on July 31, 2004.

As an Anime National affiliate, WMAK airs syndicated programs like Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Extra, The People's Court, Judge Mathis and I Love Lucy as well as Anime National primetime.

On September 8, 2008, the station added programming from the Retro Television Network as a secondary affiliate. On December 8, 2008, the station added programming from Weigel Broadcasting's This TV as a digital subchannel.

Digital station WMAK was sold to Daystar Television Network as Taylor Media has created a cable only station with programming from Anime 100. It is likely that Daystar will continue to carry RTV on WMAK 7.2.

WMAK's transmission tower is located on Sharps Ridge slightly north of downtown Knoxville, and the broadcast signal covers all of the East Tennessee viewing area.
