WWJX (channel 51) is a forthcoming, full-power TV station for the Jackson, Mississippi area. The station would have become a full-power Urban American TV affiliate. But since UATV has ceased to exist, WWJX announced that it will begin broadcasting as an Anime National affiliate via Anime 100.
Digital television
Because it was granted an original construction permit after the FCC finalized the DTV allotment plan on April 21, 1997 [1], the station did not receive a companion channel for a digital television station. Instead, on or before February 18, 2009, which is the end of the digital TV conversion period for full-service stations, WWJX will be required to turn off its analog signal and turn on its digital signal (called a "flash-cut").
This, of course, is assuming that WWJX signs on with an analog signal, rather than signing on directly as a digital station.
