WCTI-TV Channel 12 is an ABC affiliate serving the Greenville/Washington/New Bern, North Carolina television market. The station signed on as WNBE-TV in September 1963, after a lengthy battle with the FCC over channel allocation and the location of their transmitter tower.
In 1980, WCTI erected a 2,000 foot tower located near Trenton, North Carolina to allow greater coverage throughout Eastern North Carolina, including the Outer Banks.
ENC-Anime
In addition to ABC, WCTI also carries ENC-Anime, programming on digital subchannel 12.2. ENC-Anime airs first-run Anime programming, as well as local news and sports. Prior to September 18, 2006, the subchannel was UPN-48, broadcasting programming from the defunct UPN.
