Vhozon
From Yb Timeline
"Over the frost and void and forever we saw
As the timeless taunted as their green flares danced
Their victim’s twisted sins now forever gone
Their false reason with the timeless silence."
-Vhozon Poem "Ashes and Architects"
The Vhozon are a race of ancient super powerful beings that exist in the Angler Galaxy. They were the race credited for bringing about the destruction of the Necrons. The Vhozon collective sees themselves as a race superior to the other races of the galaxy, and thus that they are the only ones who can keep order within it. This puts them at odds with all forces of the universe. Vhozon now send out teams as far as the Sherigu System, attempting to destroy the Necrons as they awaken.

History
Vho and the Early Expansion
The Vhozon first appeared on the planet Vho, a subzero planet on the edge of the Angler Galaxy, around 4 million BZ. They evolved from a creature known as the Bladed Tundra Beetle, a native subterranean creature on Vho, and eventually achieved civilization status. Because of fierce flash-freeze ice storms, the Vhozon created their cities either underground or in the three hundred foot ice spires that dominated the planet's crust.
Accelerating the technology of the Vhozon was the vast mineral reserves below the frozen layer of Vho. The Subterranean Vhozon quickly learned how to manipulate these metals into structures and plating. The reserves of petroleum allowed for the first primitive machines, while the rich soil below the ice level lead them to develop the planet's first agriculture. Meanwhile, the spire Vhozon discovered primitive flying devices that would allow them to ride the flash-freeze storms, as well as a way of manipulating ice to form a hard, almost metallic element.
The various tribes and nations would occasionally go to war with one another, but the Vhozon existed in a relative equilibrium. In 2,090,000 BZ, a Vhozon leader known only as the Judicator appeared, coming from one of the few tribes that still roamed the ice plains. Through a campaign of war, he united the tribes of Vho into a single, planetary nation. He established his capitol in the highest of the ice spires, naming it Telematrus.
The Judicator created the basis for what is today Vhozon culture. Realizing the psychic potential of his race, he gathered those of greatest psychic power and created the Seer Council. These would serve as overseers for the Vhozon race, and decide their actions based on their prophecies of future events. The Judicator also forced cooperation between the spire and subterranean Vhozon, leading to the strange blend of metallic and ice based technology the Vhozon are known for today.
Ten thousand years later the Vhozon created a ship capable of exiting their planet's orbit, known in their language as the Overseer. At this point, the Vhozon became curious about what lay beyond their planet. For the next thousand years they would work to develop better technologies to expand to other planets and go beyond their own system.
The Age of Expansion and the Plague
The Vhozon finally achieved faster-than-light travel with a technology known as the Time Refractor, whose workings are still unknown to the lesser races. They were able to move about their galaxy with impunity. However, they soon discovered it to be very empty, save for several planets with primitive organisms. As their empire expanded, they began to think of themselves as alone in the universe, the only creatures to have achieved sentience.
Twenty thousand years into their expansion the Vhozon had settled on three hundred systems, and achieved Vhoform, the act of thickening a planet's atmosphere to achieve sub-zero conditions in order make conditions livable for Vhozon creatures, on two hundred planets. The Seer Council on Vho arrived with a warning to the ruler at the time, Leader Hoxinu: the expansion had to cease or a great calamity would befall the Vhozon race. Hoxinu ignored the advice of the Seer Council, and expanded into a system that would come to be known as the Bearer's System.
At first the expansion went smoothly, the system was devoid of any life beyond the fauna stage of development. The Vhozon began the process of Vhoforming a warm swamp world known as Barcash. The process of Vhoforming would usually kill off any harmful pathogens in the environment, but on Barcash it had actually caused a strain called the Barcash Decaying Plague to thrive. As the Vhozon had not faced pathogens of this lethality before, the disease spread quickly through the colonization force. Not knowing of the plague they held, they returned to other Vhozon worlds, including Vho itself.
It was estimated the loss of life due to the Barcash Rotting Plague was somewhere in the hundreds of billions. It was a slow-acting disease that rotted the bodies of the Vhozon from the inside of their shell-like structure. At the time the Vhozon had very little in the way of medical technology, relying on their strong immune systems and inhospitable living conditions to screen their environment of harmful pathogens for them. They resorted to killing those with the first signs of infection; red spots showing up beneath their armor plated arms. This would be known as the Red Dot Scouring, and a dark chapter in Vhozon history.
However unethical, the Red Dot Scouring stopped the Barcash Rotting Plague from spreading any further. The Seer Council and the Vhozon Leader met together to discuss a new doctrine for exploring the universe. They would explore not to settle, but to observe, and learn the ways of new races so they could better understand the workings of the universe. They would also not get involved with any race that had not achieved the same level of technological advancement as the Vhozon. This agreement came to be known as the Observer Accords.
The Age of the Observers and the Swarm War
The Vhozon took it upon themselves to look for other forms of life, and learn from them as distant watchers. The first sentient life forms they discovered were on a barren rocky world, where Silicone based life forms known as the Diamonts. They would later go on to discover various other forms of life, none of them space-fairing at the time of discovery.
A rapid change in Vhozon philosophy on "lesser" races occurred when a race known as the Olecs. The Vhozon sent one of their motherships to the Olec home planet, gathering information on their culture. Unbeknownst to the Vhozon, the Olecs were undergoing a renaissance of military and space observing technology, and discovered the mothership looming over their planet. The Olecs responded with hostility, and launched orbital projectiles at the ship. While the projectiles were destroyed by their shield, the Vhozon aboard were shocked by the action. In the first hostile action since the tribal days of Vho, the Vhozon retaliated. The Vhozon froze the atmosphere of the planet, killing the entire Olec race. The genocide of an entire race so easily shocked the Vhozon. Leader Juxinu, seeing a potential abuse of the Vhozon's technology to be used as tools for annihilation, sealed away much of their fleet and military technology, focusing instead on exploration and artistic endeavors.
Seven hundred years after the Olec Genocide the first spacefairing race was discovered, a insectoid race known as the Kriken. Explorer fleets were dispatched to make peace with the Kriken, but were boarded instantly, their crews killed off. The Kriken used the technology and maps aboard the ship to launch an invasion into Vhozon space eight years later. This conflict would be known as the Swarm Wars, and the first actual conflict the Vhozon had engaged in with another race. The Vhozon were at a severe disadvantage through the entire conflict, as their military technology was mostly locked away and they lacked knowledge of tactics. The Kriken, however, were bred for war, and overran the outer Vhozon worlds with ease.
The Vhozon attempted to unlock what technology they had stored, but it was not enough to hold back the Kriken. Ad they drew closer to Vho, all resources were devoted into creating a way to deter the Kriken. Using the race's psychic poweress, the Vhozon created a controlled psychic storm known as the known as the Mist of Vho. It took the lives of the entire Seer Council and many more lower level psychics to both create and contain the storm, but the Mist of Vho rendered Vho and its outlying systems impossible to navigate by spacecraft without a Vhozon seer to guide the ships. The Mist of Vho finally stopped the Kriken, who after significant losses attempting to brute force their way through the storm turned back. To this day no outside race has ever walked upon the planets shrouded by the Mist of Vho.
The Kriken Wars showed the Vhozon two things: that primitive races could be trusted and that they would not be able to use brute technological force against other races. Instead, Vhozon military technology and doctrine was devoted to stealth and striking before the enemy could strike back.
The Celestial Architects and the Necrons
The Vhozon were able to advance outside of their galaxy around 1 million BZ, and watched as many fledgling races grew and develop. Upon moving into a distant galaxy, they discovered an advanced race known as the Celestial Architects. This race seemed to be almost on par with the Vhozon, but had devoted much into crude robotics, which the Vhozon found distasteful. There was debate among the Seer Council as to how to respond, some wanted to trade while others foresaw great calamity coming with interaction with them. A vote was cast, and a Vhozon explorer fleet made contact with the Celestial Architects. They responded warmly, and a sort of small trading network was established. The Vhozon still maintained their distance from these new creatures, as the Swarm Wars were still a bitter memory in their mind. However, Celestial Architect technology was adapted and improved upon by the Vhozon, creating the robotic Eye of Vho drones for intergalactic exploration and combat Frostwalkers.
Soon the C'Tan Wars broke out between the Celestial Architects and the newly arrived robotic Necrons. The Necrons overtook the Celestial Architects swiftly, and threatened to consume most of the known universe. The Vhozon sent aid, but realized they could not take the Necrons in direct combat. They opted to use hit and run tactics, often using the Celestial Architects as distractions then leaving them to die after the objective had been achieved. This combat doctrine, while costing the lives of many Celestial Architects, was effective enough that it became the staple for future Vhozon tactics.
When the Deceiver's Plague finally destroyed the Celestial Architects, the Vhozon saw themselves as the only capable race to combat the Necrons. They first manipulated the Kriken to stall their advance, psychically manipulating one of their adepts to scout planets in the old Celestial Architect planets at the time of one of the Kriken's Expansion Crusades. This bought the Vhozon time to create a device known as Soulice, a device that cut off the Necron's connection to their dimension, thus rendering them powerless.
This device was planted among the heaviest Necron concentrations, and halted the Necron's armies. In order to keep their armies from annihilation, the C'Tan shards that controlled the Necron armies in the Vhozon's dimension ordered their legions into stasis on hundreds of scattered world, hidden from the Vhozon, hoping to awaken again at a time where there would be more souls to harvest.
The Necrons were defeated, but it came at great cost to the Vhozon. With the Swarm Wars and the C'Tan Wars in succession and the Vhozon's slow reproductive cycle, the Vhozon population dwindled dangerously low. Many criticized the Vhozon leadership for getting involved in the affairs of the universe. Thus, the Vhozon opted for a much more hands off approach to the future, only manipulating events when the need arose. The Seer Council thus created the Watchman Doctrine, which stated that no Vhozon would leave the protection of the Mist of Vho unless ordered by the Council, and that only should the universe once again hang in the balance should the Vhozon intervene in the affairs of other races. The doctrine also stated that there would be no permanent alliances with the Vhozon race, and that all other races were expendable in regards to a future Necron outbreak.
Interbellum
For the next hundred thousand years the Vhozon held behind the Mist of Vho, rarely moving out of their bubble of protection. Some scholars think that the Vhozon's manipulation lead to the rise of the Galactic Federation as a power around 0 BZ, but there is little substantial evidence to support such a notion. Around the time of the creation of the Federation, the Vhozon allowed single individuals of their society out of the Mist of Vho, in order to gather more information on these new sentient cultures springing up and impart "Vhozon enlightenment and morality across the universe." The most famous of these individuals was named [Noxus]], who became a famed bounty hunter. The Vhozon emissaries were a strange sight to the Federation, and due to their unwillingness to surrender any ounce of Vhozon technology, they were not quite a welcome one either. Even so, they were a rare sight among civilized worlds, some cultures even claiming them to be divine beings sent to judge the unwilling.
In the 2000s, the bounty hunter Noxus received a transmission taunting the beings of the universe to a so called "ultimate power" in the Tetra Galaxy's Alimbic System. In order to gain information on what the transmission contained, Noxus and several other bounty hunters raided a Yoshi Bodyguard base, locating the source of this transmission and launching a personal quest to secure it or to prevent the other beings of the universe from doing so. Noxus fought across the system's four planets against Space Pirates, Galactic Federation bounty hunters, and Yoshi Bodyguards. Fiercest of all was the rivalry between Noxus and a Kriken bounty hunter Trace, who engaged in a week long engagement across the planet of Arcterra. Samus Aran and the Yoshi Bodyguards defeated the both of them, and Noxus retreated.
Samus Aran then unlocked the prison containing the so-called ultimate power, only to discover it was a trap set by the energy being Gorea in order to steal the powers of the greatest individuals in the universe. The bounty hunters temporarily aligned in order to destroy the monster, but they were defeated and their powers stolen. Samus and the Yoshi Bodyguards managed to defeat Gorea and destroyed his prison, and Noxus escaped just in time to avoid the prison's destruction.
In this time Vhozon society focused on creating weapons that could both defeat the Necrons and manipulate the lesser races more efficiently. They began to expand their psychic powers through newfound genetic manipulation, allowing them to project illusions and control the minds of weaker beings. Attempts were made to reproduce the Soulice, but the rites of creation were imperfectly passed down from the past generation. Thus, the Vhozon began to conserve what samples of the device they had.
Second Necron Conflict
At the beginning of the Metal Wars, the Seer Council came to a startling revelation. The Necrons had begun to awaken near the base of an old Imperial Yoshi war Titan on the planet of Fichina. The C'Tan known as the Nightbringer had parted the storms on Fichina long enough for the lesser races to be alerted to the titan's existence, and thus several armies moved to claim the war machine. This would be the first action of the Metal Wars, where the civilized world would fight the Metal Army. The Vhozon, under Farseer Thorbell landed on the planet and attempted to force the various factions to fight one another in order to keep them from the titan. They shot down a Yoshi Bodyguard transport containing the repair crews, and riled the Orks of the planet into a WAAGH stage. In addition, they destroyed the Metal Army's power stations and their artillery batteries. However, Thorbell was outmaneuvered by the Ork Warboss Wargutz and almost overrun by the Orks. She was forced to make an alliance with the Yoshi Bodyguards stationed nearby, offering an explanation of what was going on in exchange for shelter from the Orks. Thorbell met with General Kaufmann and told him of the Necrons at the base of the Titan, and that they were the only ones who could destroy them.
The Yoshi Bodyguards made a push for the Titan, but the Vhozon then destroyed their flanking bases defending the crash site, allowing the Metal Army and several other factions to flood in. However, the Yoshi Bodyguards made it to the Titan. In a last act of humility, the Vhozon moved in to hold the gate from the opposing armies, losing most of their numbers in the process. Thorbell managed to survive the encounter, and escaped the planet after the Yoshi Bodyguards managed to ward away the Necrons on their own.
As the Metal Wars escalated, the Vhozon worked behind the scenes in attempts to destroy the Necrons awakened by the conflict, using Alliance of Worlds and Metal Army forces as bait in order to distract them long enough for Soulice to be used. The Battle of Manshire was a famous Vhozon incident where the Vhozon fleet was called in to Vhoform a planet in order to stop the Necron advance at the cost of the large Federation population on the planet. In the Slaughter of the Necroplis the Vhozon launched a preemptive strike on a Necron tomb world known as Fernis, only to be beaten back by Federation and Metal Army forces. Both sides were then wiped out when the Necrons reawakened.
The largest Vhozon intervention was on the planet of Chronis. The Nightbringer had reactivated an entire Necron legion below the surface in an attempt to feed off the chaos of the conflict above. A Vhozon mothership, under Farseer Maythes, brought a Soulice device to the planet in an attempt to stop the awakening. They settled on the planet's polar ice cap, and launched raids against any faction that threatened their hold on the planet, as well as blocking any fleet coming in or out of the sector. The SWDF garrison on the planet needed these supply routes to reinforce their stronghold, and settled on launching an attack against the base. Maythes and SWDF forces engaged in a fierce melee, which ended in the SWDF planting a bomb aboard their gateway to the mothership. This disabled their shields long enough for the SWDF leader Lucas Alexander to hit it with the Hellfire Cannon stationed at their base, destroying the ship and stranding their forces. The rest of the Vhozon were hunted down throughout the war, and Maythes was killed in the conflict. The Necron forces were eventually destroyed by the SWDF when they planted a bomb that collapsed their awakening chambers and destroyed the Nightbringer's artifact fragment, severing his connection to the YB Dimension.
Thorbell would again appear on Fichinia, warning the SWDF forces there that the Metal Army had obtained one of the fragments of the C'Tan, one known as the Void Dragon. The two temporarily aligned to ward off a Metal Army push to reclaim the titan as it was moved to engage at Mekkai. The Vhozon guarded the device as it was moved, using their motherships to support the SWDF advance. Eventually it reached Mekkai, and the Vhozon withdrew, letting the Alliance of Worlds destroy the Void Dragon for them. With the Metal Wars ended, the Necron awakening began to slow.
Dark Perforation and the Galdenthane
Soon after the Metal Wars the Dark Perforation launched their assault. Several months before this was forseen by the Vho's Seer Council, who were torn on what action to take. Half said that the Dark Perforation was a threat to all life and could threaten Vho, the other half saw them as another lesser race who was simply tipping the scales of a galactic conflict, no worse than the Kriken. The debate was settled by the Vhozon Leader Yjuic, who decided to keep the Vhozon from engaging the Dark Perforation. He cited that while they were a race more ancient then the Vhozon, they were still a primitive people in the eyes of the Vhozon, and that they would not be able to pierce the Mist of Vho. Nevertheless, if they did have the technology to invade through the storm, it would be best that the Vhozon not draw attention to themselves, instead opting to wait out until the Dark Perforation either moved on or was destroyed. This decision shook the Vhozon people's faith in their own power, causing a rift through their own society. Their inaction was of no consequence, as several months later the Dark Perforation was destroyed by the Alliance of Worlds.
During the conflict, the Vhozon Seer Kixik gained another, vivid vision of a new threat coming, as ancient as the Dark Perforation, and threatening the stars. At first Leader Yjuic maintained the same policy as he did with the Dark Perforation, but the Vhozon people became distraught. Several high officials in the Vhozon leadership began to call his leadership "the Mandate of Cowards," and many resigned their posts. Yjuic reluctantly then sent a force to investigate the prophecy, recalling the great bounty hunter Noxus to lead the hunt for the new threat. They happened upon a Celestial Architect ruin, far beyond their old realm of space, and discovered a creature known as Galdenthane below the surface. Afterward the planet was swarmed by green crystal creatures, and purified by a mysterious race known as the ScryAldor. Of the Vhozon pack sent to investigate, only Noxus survived the ordeal.
When Gadlenthane swarms came in full force to the known universe, coming from outside the galactic cluster. The Vhozon sent their fleet to ward them away, working from a doctrine of stealth and manipulation. They pushed the Kriken into the conflict soon after, using their immeasurable numbers to combat the Galdenthane. After the ScryAldor defeated Galdenthane's core essence, the swarms began to scatter. However, another prophecy maintained this was just the beginning of a greater tide that would overrun them. This one insinuated that the Galdenthane itself had its own master.
The Vhozon trailed the Alliance of World fleet when they created the portal to the distant galaxy that held the Galdenthane's master, and fought the minions of the Fallen Titan alongside Alliance forces. The expedition was nearly wiped out in the final battle, but the Fallen Titan was defeated, and the remaining Vhozon returned to Vho.
The Vhozon were present for several more Necron awakenings, these less in scale and put down. The Vhozon were also confirmed to be present during the psychic storm that broke out in the Hidukkel System, though their reasons for being there are unknown.
Discrepancies
In some of their earlier appearance, they have been cited to summon their god in the form of an Avatar. This has recently been retconned, as the Vhozon are an athiest culture and do not have any such gods. The Avatar has since been retconned into the Avatar of Vho, which is their most powerful Frostwalker.
Biology
The Vhozon evolved from the Bladed Tundra Beetle, and are adapted to sub-zero conditions. They are known for their distinctive purple exoskeleton serves as a kind of armor. The Vhozon have a bluish blood that has a very low freezing point, but does not adapt well to temperatures above freezing. Recent advances in genetic engineering of the Vhozon genome have been made to compensate for this.
The Vhozon have four tiny eyes on their head, which have a wide spectrum of vision. They can see in extreme low or bright light, as their planet experiences long periods of both. However, their range of vision is limited due to their head structure. The race is not known for its brute power, and while their shell seems to be armored heavily the Vhozon exoskeleton is remarkably fragile.
The Vhozon can live up to a millennium, with some seers surviving ten. The Vhozon lifespan is offset by their reproductive cycle; it takes seventy years for a young Vhozon to grow to maturity. After this there is a brief fifty year period where a Vhozon can reproduce. Due to the complex birthing cycle, a Vhozon will only have five to six offspring in this time. The Vhozon have attempted to alter their genome to extend this period or the number of offspring a Vhozon may have, but to no avail.
A strange evolutionary quirk of the Vhozon is the ability for them to turn into a bladed top, bending their skeleton, balancing on their wiry legs and spinning. From the back of their arms comes two blade-like structures. In the early days of Vhozon society, this adaptation was used to ward off the predators of the Vho wastelands. With recent developments in the Vhozon genome, these blades have been strengthened among the Vhozon shipfairing caste to allow them to cut through most forms of armor.
The race has a strong psychic link, allowing them to perceive future events long before they happen. In addition, the more powerful psychics can manipulate the minds of lesser beings, allowing them to implant ideas or erase memories. Most Vhozon have a limited psychic potential, but those that do are some of the strongest psychics in the known universe. Genetic manipulation, as well as the time spent in the middle of the Mist of Vho, has caused a rise in those Vhozon with the psychic gene.
Culture
The Vhozon have a society based around obtaining knowledge and maintaining equilibrium in the universe. They do not trade with other species, opting to observe them and learn from a distance. Should they get involved, it is usually in a subtle manner. The Vhozon are an isolated species, who have maintained the oldest civilization still around in modern day. Their territory is kept protected by the psychic storm the Mist of Vho, that shields their worlds from anyone who is not accepted by the Vhozon Seers. To date no non Vhozon has set foot on the Vhozon worlds.
There are three different subcultures among the Vhozon, the planetbound, the shipfarers, and most recently the wanderers. The planetbound are the artists, architects, and seers of the Vhozon society. They stay on the surface of the Vhoformed planets in the Mist of Vho. They are the majority of the population, and serve as a sort of working class for their society. From their ranks comes the Seer Council and the Leader, who serve as guides for the Vhozon race. These Vhozon are highly intelligent, but isolated from the outside universe. They learn of the cosmos from the vast Libraries of Vho, a catalog of knowledge the Vhozon have obtained over the century. To date the Vhozon have refused to allow any outsider any of the knowledge contained in the library.
The shipfarers are the Vhozon who live aboard the motherships, and are the closest thing the Vhozon have to a military force. The Motherships serve as mobile cities where these Vhozon spend their entire lives. Each mothership is headed by a Farseer, who oversees the operations of the mothership. The shipfarers are seen by their fellow Vhozon as a violent breed, though are considered civilized by any other race's standards. The shipfarers spend much of their time interpreting the prophecies of the Farseer and of the Council of Seers, and determining how they impact the fabric of the universe. They also spend much of their time training in case of a Warcall. When a mothership is given a Warcall, the ship is moved to a field of battle and given a mission by the Seer Council. Each mothership sent to a field of battle serves as their own nation, carrying out their own orders with no regard to the other ships. As such, there is usually a form of rivalry among shipfarers of differing motherships. Origionally the shipfarers served as the explorer caste for the Vhozon, but with the invention of the Eye of Vho this role was taken by scouting drones.
The most recent caste to appear is the wanders. These are Vhozon who are revered and feared in Vhozon society, as they are sent to interact with outside races and tip the balance of power among them, all the while learning their ways. The most famous of these is the bounty hunter Noxus, who wanders Federation space. These Vhozon are outcasts from the society, and are isolated from all support from their brethren. In cases of extreme need, these Vhozon can be called upon by the Leader. This is a rarity, as it is the one caste in Vhozon society that does not answer to the Seer Council in any way.
Military
The Vhozon do not put much of their focus on their military poweress, but have a force ready should the need for military combat arise. Vhozon only have two basic types of ground troopers, the Shipfarer Guardians and the Blades. Shipfarer Guardians are the basic assault troopers for the Vhozon, and are armed with basic Judicator arm cannons. These cannons can fire ice-bolt rounds that can be fired from extreme distances, and also have the ability to ricochet off solid surfaces. The alternate fire for this weapon is a cone of ice that incases everything in front of the Guardian with a super-strong steel like ice substance.
The Blades are those who specialize in the Vhozon evolutionary Vhoscythe form, and are able to use the spinning sword fighting style to overcome enemies and overtake heavily armored targets. These Vhozon have gained the genetic enhancements that have reinforced their blades, as well as enhancements to their coordination while in their Vhosycthe form.
In addition, the Vhozon are supported by advanced robotics given to them by the Celestial Architects. The Frostwalkers are massive bipedal war machines armed with a Executor Cannon and a large frostblade. In addition, Eyes of Vho serve as invisible scouts used to reveal enemy positions. The Avatar of Vho is the most powerful of the Vhozon's ground forces, and in contrast to their mostly ice-based technology is a molten humanoid mech that uses a large double-linked Executor Cannon and burning Dread Blade to rip through enemy armor.
The Vhozon do not have a fleet in the sense that other races do. Their entire military might is centered around the motherships, massive diamond shaped floating cities. These ships use an advanced version of the Newtype Psychic Cannon, able to pierce ship armor. The psychic conduits of the ship allow for other abilities, such as teleportation and putting other ships into a pocket of slower time. The mothership can set up a teleport network with other planets in the immediate galaxy, allowing the mothership to be the center of operation for Vhozon forces. In addition, it has an advanced cloaking system that prevents enemy ambushes, and a large energy shield that can deflect any heavy arms fire.
The mothership is advanced, but this advancement comes at a high cost. These ships take thousands of years to properly create, and the loss of any of these ships is a crippling blow to the Vhozon. The only time a mothership has been destroyed in recent history was on Chronis, where a nuclear device was teleported on board followed by blast from a prototype Hellfire Cannon. Because of their high cost, for any given conflict there is usually only one or two motherships present.
The Vhozon mothership can be supported by smaller Tornado Fighters, which usually serve as scouts for the mothership. They are not as heavily armored as the fighters of other races, but sacrifice armor for speed and firepower. In addition, Prism Transports allow for transportation to a planet's surface, and uses a similar cloaking system to that of the mothership.
