[edit] Personality

Alphonse is the quiet brother. He seems almost introverted towards other people even though he has a pleasant and friendly nature. Al is overly polite, tries to keep out of others way if there is an emergency and will help out when there is a need. He's protective of his older brother and seems to be intimately intuitive about Edward's emotions. Normally, Al doesn't speak unless he feels the need to, and many times he holds a wisdom that is beyond his years. He shies away from people who mock him or otherwise believe he's a freak, mostly due to his past as being soulbonded into an armored suit. He also has guilt complex (due to the fact that the philosopher's stone was created just so that he could have a normal life), feels he doesn't deserve to live after all the terror and heartache he's witnessed, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (Because honestly, if you've spent 6+ years in the Gate, you're going to have some psychological issues, too)

[edit] Powers and Abilities

Alphonse is proficient in hand to hand melee combat (ie. Martial Arts) that was taught to him by his teacher, Izumi Curtis. He also can perform Alchemy, especially Alchemy without the use of a transmutation circle. His special characteristic of this skill is that he can transfer portions of his soul into objects to make them move. Since in this RPG, his abilities are going to be heavily limited, is it possible to reduce the Alchemy use to healing others? To be able to see and 'feel' the array in other people and heal them by repairing the arrays within them.

[edit] History

From a young age, Al was always Ed's shaddow, following him around from place to place, romping and playing and learning from his older brother as any good little brother should. When the Elrics were allowed to read their father's Alchemy books, he strove to be as good as his brother Ed, even though he idolized Edward in every way. When he was 9, their mother fell ill and died. Devestated, Alphonse clung to his brother even more in attempts to find a sense of normalcy in their recently upturned world. Even though Edward was confident in using Alchemy to bring their mother back to life, Al kept quiet about his own doubts that the alchemy would be successful. The brothers spent about 6 months with their teacher, Izumi to learn enough about alchemy so they could bring their mother back.

On a stormy night, Ed and Al attempted the forbidden. Alphonse only remembers activating the array and then blacking out. When he awoke, he was inside an old suit of armor and his brother was bleeding heavily, missing an arm and a leg. From that time on, his life was changed forever. He followed Edward through the trials of Ed receiving automail, becoming a state alchemist and finding the philospher's stone. Through all of Edward's accomplishments, Alphonse was the one who carried their salvation in his armor. The culmilation of their fight for a normal life happened in an underground city. After being kidnapped and taken advantage of by homunculi, Alphonse sacrificed himself to bring his beloved brother back to life and have a whole, unmarred and incomplete body.

Then Alphonse woke up. He was no longer soul bound to armor with the seal Edward made with his own blood, but that mark still remains between his shoulder blade as a reminder. He was young again, as if the past five years had never happened. Al also had no memory of his adventures with Edward or what had happened to his brother before the failed transmutation attempt. The massive gaps in his memory were filled by his friends, all of them believing that Edward had died trying to return his brother's body to normal. Al never gave up hope that his brother was still alive somewhere and was bound and determined to find Edward so they could be together again. After training with Izumi again, he set off on his own to find the Fullmetal Alchemist, partially disguised in his brother's coat and clothes so that it would be easier to garner more information in hopes of finding out what happened to Ed.

It is during his journey [he will have just turned 15-please let me know it this will not be allowed] where he finds himself mysteriously trapped in a world of cold with nothing but his brother's red duster.

[edit] Relationships

Daisya Barry - He genuinely likes Daisya. The man's funny and light hearted and it warms Al. He doesn't like the fact that the man doesn't ask for help when he needs it. The way Deesha got his back all infected did not make Al a happy healer.

Edward Elric - The best part was the fact they talked to each other through notes and not know who they are. He loves his brother dearly, but feels that Ed's stubbornness puts a strain on relationships. He hopes that the rumors of Edward liking a girl are true and develop more. His brother shouldn't be deprived of the simple pleasures in life.

He is worried, however, that his brother and Kenshin will never come to an easy truce. He knows Ed's being protective, maybe overly so, but he's also frustrated that Ed doesn't see a little bit of Kenshin in them.

Deadpool - Deadpool has his points that Al has a hard time to argue with, but honestly, his methods of execution are lacking in the tact department.

Al still thinks Deadpool was a bottle fed baby and has issues that have yet to come to light. However, Alphonse has little interaction with Deadpool, so he doesn't know his past history.

Tamaki Suou - He likes Tamaki and is greatly amused that Ed's afraid of him. The fact that Tamaki inadvertantly brought Ed and Yukino together (even if it's as aquaintences) makes him a happy camper and might consider asking for help in being match maker.

Zack Fair - He is the ultimate Big Brother (next to Ed, of course.) The man is funny and cheerful and knows when to bolster when needed. There may be even a mattering of infatuation there, but it could just be a quirk of Al's. Once he deems you as a friend, he tends to be a little more touchy feely than with people he doesn't know well.

Roxas - He wants to learn more about this boy, but other events have prevented him and diverted his attention to other things. Most importantly, he's a friend of Sora, and Al wants to make certain Sora is safe.

Simon Tam - Al is very happy to meet him and he's not like any of the other stuffy doctors at all. He really hopes to be able to learn some things from him and can't wait to be able to talk to him again. He could very happily settle as an assistant to Simon and feels that they are in sore need of people who care about the well being of others around Manhattan.

Itachi Uchiha - Guy needs to make certain his injuries get healed properly. But Al doesn't know he's inadvertantly given help through ANKO.

Yukino Miyazawa - He would have heard of her through the grapevine as being 'Ed's friend,' to which Al is having all these kittens, right now. Ed talking to a girl and calling her a friend (who's not Winry) is mind boggling!
