Justice for Brawl: Battle Stars (2017) (alson known as simply Battle Scars (2017) is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (iPPV) event produced by WIW for the ShowDown brand. It will take place on July 23, 2017 at the Worthington Arena in Bozeman, Montana. It will be the first event under the Battle Scars chronology.

The card will include matches resulting from scripted storylines and have results predetermined by WIW on the ShowDown brand. Storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television show Thursday Night ShowDown.

At Money in the Bank, Craig Sandvig defeated Brent Huntley to retain the WIW Heavyweight Championship. On the following episode of ShowDown, Huntley had a sit-down interview about how he lost focus after what The Sandvig Brothers (Brian and Dave Sandvig). He said he would do whatever it takes to beat Sandvig and become WIW Heavyweight Champion, but also he wanted to hurt the entire Sandvig Brothers. Later that night after Sandvig defeated Rob Truax, Huntley attacked The Sandvig Brothers and then Craig Sandvig, who escaped into the crowd. The following week, Huntley said the wanted a rematch for the title and that if he did not receive it, he would continue to attack the Sandvig Brothers anywhere he saw them. Commissioner Turf Finnegan, who sympathized for Huntley over what the Sandvig Brothers did at Money in the Bank, gave Huntley a title rematch at Battle Scars, but allowed Craig Sandvig to choose the stipulation. Craig Sandvig came out and chose to debut the Montana Prison match. On the July 6 episode of ShowDown, Huntley said that he was going to enjoy punishing Craig Sandvig in the Montana Prison match, and if they ended up somehow getting involved he would give the Sandvig Brothers the same punishment as Craig. Craig Sandvig responded and said that he would be bringing the Montana Prison to ShowDown the following week.

At Money in the Bank, The Doomsday (Marc Beltran and Steve Britz with Brandon) defeated WIW Heavyweight Tag Team Champions The Larsons (Steven Larson and Tommy Larson) by disqualification, thus The Larsons retained. On the following episode of ShowDown, The Doomsday taunted how The Larson backed out of the match and Beltran defeated Tommy. The following week, after The Usos defeated The Bad Boys (Bob Thennis and Chris Riley), preventing them from becoming the number one contenders, The Doomsday confronted and challenged The Usos to another title match at Battle Scars, and The Larsons accepted. On the July 6 episode of ShowDown, The Doomsday confronted The Larsons once more that ended in a brawl that the Larsons started. The following week, Brandon defeated Steven.

On the June 22 episode of ShowDown, then-United Nations Champion Daniel Mazurek issued a Open Challenge for the United Nations Championship to any local competitor. Kevin Hunter came out to accepted the challenge, but Mazurek denied him the shot. American Naturals' Brandon Branscum then answered the challenge, but Mazurek trained in the ensuing match. The following week, Hunter confronted General Manager Turf Finnegan and said that he deserved a shot at the WIW United Nations Championship because of what happen at Money in the Bank. Mazurek interrupted and said that Hunter was complaining. Finnegan toled Mazurek that the last time a champion had a Open Challenge, the champion would defend against anyone, the open challenge, it was open to anyone. Finnegan decided that for the July 6 episode of ShowDown, there would be a Battle Royal, where the winner would face Mazurek for the United Nations Championship at Battle Sars That episode, Hunter defeated Branscum to qualify for the battle royal and subsequently won the battle royal. After Hunter's victory, Mazurek who was at ringside, attacked Hunter, but Hunter fought him off and posed with the title. A few days later, despite becoming the number one contender to the title at Battle Scars, at a WIW Live Event, Mazurek was in the ring berating the WIW Universe and some of the stars in the back when Hunter confronted Mazurek, which ended up in a United Nations Championship between the two superstars, Hunter defeated Mazurek to win the WIW United Nations Championship. On the following episode of ShowDown, the new champion issued a "true" Open Challenge, which was accepted by former champion, Daniel O'Brien. Before the match could accur, however, Mazurek and O'Brien's Battle Scars opponent, Tony Casiano and attacked both O'Brien and Hunter. Hunter and O'Brien defeated Mazurek and Casiano in a tag team match, and Mazurek invoked his championship rematch for the Battle Scars.

On the May 4 episode of ShowDown, Daniel O'Brien defeated Daniel Mazurek to win the WIW United Nations Championship. The following week, Mazurek defeated O'Brien to regain the WIW United Nations Championship, due to outside interference by Mazureks joined new stable mates of ShowDown's version of "new and improved" Evolved Revolution; Tony Casiano, Louie Blood, Jr. and Kyle Webster as well as Michael Nathe. On the May 25 episode of ShowDown O'Brien cost Casiano and Webster there match against the Doomsday for a shot at the WIW Heavyweight Tag Team Championship, O'Brien attacked Casiano and Webster after the match putting Webster through a table as Casiano escaped. On the June 8 episode of ShowDown, O'Brien teamed with Jax Teller to defeated Casiano and Blood, Jr. when Teller pinned Blood, Jr. The following week, O'Brien challenged Casiano to a Chain match at Battle Scars. Later that night, Casiano confronted General Manager Turf Finnegan about the match, after Casiano angered Finnegan, Finnegan officially scheduled the Chain match at Battle Scars. On the July 11 episode of ShowDown, Casiano and Webster attacked O'Brien after O'Brien had accepted Kevin Hunter's United Nations Championship Open Challenge.

At Money in the Bank, Sarah Hicks defeated Katelyn Whitehead to regain the WIW Women's Championship, and again in two back-to-back rematches on episode's ShowDown. On the July 13 episode of ShowDown, Hicks confronted Commissioner Dixie Finnegan about who her next opponent would be. Kaila Matteson interrupted and said that she should be the next challenge, followed by Allison Richards, Beatrice LaGreca, Somer Cummings and Katelyn Whitehead. Dixie decided that at Battle Scars, the five would face each other in a fatal five-way elimination match to determine the number one contender for the WIW Women's Championship at SummerBash. Matteson and Richards then teamed up in a losing effort against LaGreca and Cummings due to a distraction from Whitehead.
