TLC: Christmas Chaos (2017) (also known as TLC: X Chaos) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WIW for the Rage brands. it took place on October 22, 2017 at Richland Ranger Arena in Sidney, Montana. It will be the eighth event under the Christmas Chaos chronology. Although the 2017 event was promoted as TLC: Christmas Chaos, being that the event took place in October it was also promoted as TLC: X Chaos.

The card featured matches that resulted from scripted storylines and had results predetermined by WIW on the Rage brand. Storylines were produced on WIW's weekly television shows Wednesday Night Rage and Dynamites Live, the latter of which is dynamite division-exclusive.

After failing to win the WIW World Women's Championship at No Remorse, due to the interference from Tia. On the Wednesday following No Remorse, Leah attacked Tia as she arrived at the arena, before being held back by security. On the October 4 episode of Rage, it was announced that Leah would face Tia in a singles match at Christmas Chaos. On the final episode of Rage before Christmas Chaos, Leah teamed with Quinn to face Lehr and Tia, in a losin effort after Tessa Smith interfereed. After the match, Tia said she was tired of hearing about Leah and her quick rise in WIW to the WIW World Women's Championship before her, so she was going to show the WIW Universe, why she should be in line for title.

At No Remorse, Brenah McAlmond-Quinn defeated Brittany Hiatt, Leah, Victoria Lehr and Sari Pasma in a Fatal 5-Way match to retain the WIW World Women's Championship. On the following Wednesday episode of Rage, Lehr confronted Quinn about a one-on-one rematch, after insulting her reign as champion, Quinn accepted. Later that evening, the match was officially announced for the Christmas Chaos event. On the October 4 episode of Rage, after Quinn defeated Brooke Slevin, Lehr attacked Quinn. On the October 11 episode of Rage, Quinn attacked Lehr before her match, but Lehr was able to escape before more harm could be done by Quinn. The following week, Quinn teamed up to face Leah to face Lehr and Tia, where after interference from Tessa Smith, Lehr pinned Quinn. Lehr and Smith continued to attack Quinn until, Sophie Turner made her debut in WIW, causing Lehr and Smith to retreat, Turner revealed a Club of Chaos t-shirt therefore aligning herself with Quinn and the The Club of Chaos.

On the September 27 episode of Rage, Kevin McAlmond was a guest on Lockdown TV with host and former longtime rival, Matt Borske to talk about the outcome of the Eight-man tag team match at No Remorse. But they were interrupted by Evolved Revolution who told them the outcome was due to them being scared that they were simply better than the Club of Chaos. Eric Stevens insulted McAlmond's former stable he had formed in 1999, The Grim Reapers, and claimed that if he was in WIW with Evolved Revolution (Daniel Gonzalez, Ryan Gleason and Brian Tobol and later, Jason Downing and Jacob George) back then, McAlmond would never have been the success he has been, and they would have beaten them. After the argument, a match between McAlmond and Broske against Stevens and Gonzalez was scheduled where McAlmond and Borske defeated Stevens and Gonzalez, but after the match, Evolved Revolution members attacked McAlmond and Borske, injurying Borske, Ryan Barnhart attempted to make the save, but was also beaten down by Evolved Revolution. Also at No Remorse, Matt Hooper and Josh Hooper, also former Grim Reapers members who had reunited, retained the WIW World Tag Team Championship against Team Arrow (Oliver Queen and John Diggle), when Seth Smith and Craig Remsen attacked Team Arrow, costing them the titles. The following Wednesday on Rage, Josh Hooper lost a match to Mad Hanson, and Matt Hooper defeated Craig Remsen. The following week, Stevens received a title match againts McAlmond, and Smith and Remsen attacked Matt and Josh Hooper, following an attack by Hanson. Later than night, McAlmond defeated Stevens by disqualification to retain the International Championship after Smith and Remsen interfered. Smith, Remsen and Stevens mocked the Grim Reapers by performing a triple reaperbomb. Before the show ended, McAlmond was aproached backstage by three of the former members of the Grim Reapers in 1999, The Hoopers and Barnhart. On the October 11 episode of Rage, Stevens opened the show with Smith and Remsen. They were interrupted by McAlmond and Stevens mocked McAlmond over the rumors that The Grim Reapers were reuniting. McAlmond was then joined by The Hoopers and Barnhart, offically reunited half The Grim Reapers, the four men then attacked Smith and Remsen, and performed a triple reaperbomb on Stevens. A eight-man tag team Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match between the Grim Reapers and the team of Stevens, Gonzalez, Smith and Remsen was scheduled for TLC: Christmas Chaos, the match was changed again when Kooper McAlmond attacked Gonzaelz and the two were announced for a singles match at Christmas Chaos, removing Gonzalez from the match. Later in the same show, Hanson attempted to attack Team Arrow (Oliver Queen and John Diggle), who had defeated him by disqualification, but The Grim Reapers appeared, attacked Hanson, and performed a triple reaperbomb through the announce table on him. As Barnhart had said that they would take on any number of opponents, Stevens requested that Hanson should be added to the match at TLC: Christmas Chaos. Rex Martin reluctantly agreed, and as a result, made the match a 5-on-4 handicap Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. The following week, The Grim Reapers came out through the crowd wearing their old gear. During the episode, Matt Hooper and Josh Hooper retained the WIW World Tag Team Championship against Smith and Remsen and McAlmond lost a Steel Cage match to Mad Hanson, allowing a sixth member to be added to Hanson's team, after Chris LaGreca returned by tearing through the ring and attacking McAlmond, allowing Hanson to score the win. Stevens then announced LaGreca as the sixth member for their team at TLC: Christmas Chaos. Later, on the Aftershow of Rage, McAlmond told Stevens and his team that they had awoken something bad and at Christmas Chaos they were not going to like what they're going to get in return from the Grim Reapers.

At No Remorse, Rick Pembroke defeated Richard Allen to win the WIW Dynamite Division Championship. The following Wednesday on Rage, Pembroke asked General Manager Rex Martin to sign a no-contact clause, which meant that if any dynamite wrestler attacked Pembroke, they could not challenge him for the Dynamite Divison Championship, while he is champion, which Martin agreed. Later, during Pembroske championship celebration, the entire dynamite division interrupted him. Allen said that Prembroke had made a joke out of the entire division and attacked Pembroke, along with the ther dynamite division despite the no-contact clause. the following niht on Dynamite Live, Pembroke stated that due to the no-contact clause, none of the dynamites could challenge him for the title. Allen also explained that he knew that he risked his title rematch, but did not care and would do it again. Allen then faced Steven Clayton, who befriended Pembroke, and Allen won by disqualification after Pemborke attacked Allen with a steel chair and continued to attack him after the match. The following week on Rage, Pembroke was confronted by the dynamites once again, who were lead by Allen and surround the ring. However, before they could get in the ring and attack Pembroke, he revealed that Martin signed a second no-contact clause, with this one stating that they would be fired if they attacked him. he then made fun of the dynamites, before Martin interrupted and back up both clauses, however, he then introduced Ridge Blevins and a few other superstars as the newest members of the dynamite division, Martin also revealed that Blevins had signed his dynamite contract after the no-contact clause, and would not be affected by either contract. Blevins then attacked Pembroke. The following week on Rage, Martin scheduled Allen to defend the Dynamite Division Championship against Blevins at Christmas Chaos. After some remarks from Pembroke, Martin added that the winner of a triple threat match would also be added to the match at Christmas Chaos. Pembroke would add more remarks about how Martin is handligng his business as General Manager, Martin then made Pembroke defened the Dynamite Division Championship against Blevins that night as well and also made it a Anything Goes "Extreme" lumberjack match. Later on, Brian Tobol defeated Sayer DeLumeau and Jacob Skalsky to advance to the title match at Christmas Chaos, and Blevins subsequently defeated Pembroke to win the Dynamite Division Championship. The following night on Dynamite Live Pembroke invoked his rematch clause for Christmas Chaos and he and Steven Clayton lost to Blevins and Nick Reimer. The following week on Rage, Pembroke along with Steven Clayton, Cody Bechdol, Aaron Williams, Michael Love and Colton Schluter, who aligned with Pembroke, attacked Blevins and Reimer. The next night on Dynamite Live, Blevins and Reimer defeated Pembroke and Clayton in a tag team match, after which Blevins continued to beat up Pembroke.

In the preceding months on Dynamite Live, Brandon Hill and Nick Heitt attacked Aaron Schmalzried during matches, during a match between Schmalzried and Brandon Hill, Heitt assisted Hill in attacking Schmalzried, offically aligning with Hill and beginning a feud between Schmalzried. On the October 18 episode of Rage, Hill and Heitt were scheduled to face Schmalzried and Jon Ganter. The following night on Dynamite Live, Ganter defeated Heitt after Schmalzried thwarted Hill's attempted interference.

At No Remorse, after Kooper McAlmond defeated Daniel O'Brien he was attacked by Evolved Revolution member, Daniel Gonzalez. On the October 4 episode of Rage, McAlmond called Gonzalez out to challenge him to a match at Christmas Chaos, Gonzalez declined the challenge due to being part of the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Later, during Gonzalez's match against Barnhart, McAlmond interfered and cost Gonzalez the match. After the match, McAlmond continued to attack Gonazlez. The following week on Rage, Gonzalez agreed to a match against McAlmond, Rage General Manager Rex Martin then announced that match would be a No Holds Barred Street Fight match to settle the fued between Gonzalez and McAlmond at Christmas Chaos.

On the October 11 episode of Rage, Sari Pasma was attacked by Brianna Ferris before her match and wanted a match with her whenever she wanted the match. The following week, Pasma defeated Ferris. Afterwards backstage, Ferris attacked Pasma during an interview, wanting another match with her at Christmas Chaos. Later that night, Rage General Manager Rex Martin scheduled Ferris to face Pasma in a rematch on the Christmas Chaos pre-show.
