The card will include matches resulting from scripted storylines and have results predetermined by WIW on the Rage brands. Storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television show, Rage and Dynamites Live
On the January 4, 2017, episode of Rage, Tyler Mane returned to WIW television as the first guest on The Calvert Show, where he confronted WIW World Champion Kevin McAlmond. Mane declared that all though he and McAlmond were friends, he would win the World War on January 29 and face McAlmond for the WIW World Championship at SuperBrawl IX. After eliminating Chris LaGreca from the World War Rumble match, but failing to win, Mane accepted LaGreca's challenge for a final match at SuperBrawl IX after interrupting Matt Borske and WIW International Champion Jeremy Calvert confrontation with WIW World Champion McAlmond. After Borske and Calvert mocked McAlmond and Mane, Mane then challenged Borske and Calvert to a tag team match, later that night. In the Main event, McAlmond and Mane defeated Borske and Calvert when Mane pinned Borske. The following week on Rage, Rex Martin revealed that McAlmond would defend the WIW World Champiosnhip against Mane at Final Fight.
On the January 11, 2017, episode of Rage, Dustin Simpson lost the WIW International Championship to Jeremy Calvert after interference from Mad Hanson. On the January 25, 2017, episode of Rage, Simpson invoked his one-on-one rematch, Simpson won by disqualification when Hanson attacked him. At World War on January 29, 2017, Borske and Calvert defeated WIW World Champion McAlmond and Simpson, when Hanson interfered and once again attacked Simpson, allowing Calvert to pin Simpson and retain the WIW International Championship. The following Wednesday on Rage, The following week, Simpson demanded to face Hanson that night but General Manager Rex Martin denied his request and scheduled the match to take place at Final Fight. Later that night, Hanson defeated Michael Phelps by disqualification when Simpson attacked Hanson and performed two big boots on Hanson, before being powerslammed through the announce table.
At World War, Richard Allen captured the WIW Dynamite Division Championship by defeating Josh Hooper. The following night on Rage, Allen came out for a "championship celebration", but was interrupted by Hooper, who stated that he would get a rematch and when he did, he would make Allen wish his name ever came out of his mouth, and then a brawl ensued. The next night on Dynamites Live, it was revealed that Hooper had gotten injured during the brawl. On the February 8 episode of Rage, Rex Martin revealed that a battle royal was scheduled for the following night on Dynamites Live to determine the number one contender for Allen at Final Fight. The next night on Dynamites Live, Jordan Garrison last eliminated Aaron Schmalzried to win the battle royal match and become the number one contender, he was attacked by Allen after the match.
