Lann the Clever, a legendary trickster, lives during the Age of Heroes.

The Grey King rules the Iron Islands. He is said to also rule the sea itself and taken a mermaid to wife.

Garth Greenhand is gardener king of the First Men. He wears a crown of vines and flowers and made the land bloom.

The ironmen plunders as far as the Port of Ibben and the Summer Isles. Each of the Iron Islands has its own "salt king" and "rock king". The High King of the Isles is chosen among them.

The King in the North of House Stark rules northern Westeros from Winterfell.

Urron makes the throne of the Iron Islands hereditary by murdering the other kings when they assembles for a choosing.

Andal adventurers carves out a mighty kingdom in the western hills and valleys of Westeros.

On the Iron Islands King Urron's line is extinguished when the Andals sweep over the islands.

Nymeria, warrior queen of the Rhoyne, lands in Dorne with ten thousand ships and marries Mors Martell, Lord of Sunspear. With her help Mors vanquises his rivals to rule as Prince of Dorne.

The Iron Kings extends their rule far beyond the isles themselves, carving out kingdoms on the mainland. King Qhored cans with some justice claim to rule "wherever men can smell salt water or hear the crash of waves". In later centuries Qhored's descendents lose the Arbor, Oldtown, Bear Island, and much of the western shore.

The last of the River Kings is slain by the Storm Kings who conquer all the way to the Neck.

Harwyn Hardhand, King of the Isles, takes the Trident from Arrec the Storm King.

The Targaryens escapes the Doom of Valyria and settles on Dragonstone.

Aegon I Targaryen, known as the Dragon, with his sisters Visenya and Rhaneys, sailes from Dragonstone to conquer and become the first king of the Seven Kingdoms after he has unified them during the Wars of Conquest.

Orys Baratheon, rumored to be Aegon's bastard brother, defeats Argilac the Arrogant, tbe last Storm King. As reward Aegon grants him Argilac's castle, lands and daughter.

The last King in the North, Torrhen Stark, the King Who Knelt, chooses to swear fealty to Aegon the Dragon rather than do battle. He therefore keeps his land and continued to rule as Lord of Winterfell.

Edmyn Tully, Lord of Riverrun and many other river lords deserts Harren the Black, King of the Isles, and joins Aegon.

Harren and his line perishes in the burning of Harrenhal. Aegon rewards Edmyn Tully with the dominion of the riverlands. He allows the surviving iron lords to chose who should have the primacy among them. They choose Vickon Greyjoy, Lord of Pyke.

Mern, last King of the Reach, perishes at the Field of Fire. His steward, Harlen Tyrell, surrenders Highgarden to Aegon. Aegon grants Harlen Highgarden and dominion of the Reach.

Aegon marries both his sisters and fathered sons on both.

In the 37th year after Aegon's Landing, Aegon I dies. He is succeeded by his son with Rhaneys, Aenys I.

In 42 AL Aenys I dies. He is succeeded by Aegon I's son with Visenya, Maegor I the Cruel.

In 48 AL Maegor I dies. He is succeeded by Aenys I's son, Jaehaerys I the Conciliator.

In 103 AL Jaehaerys I dies. He is succeeded by his grandson, Viserys I.

In 129 AL Viserys I dies. He is succeeded by his eldest son, Aegon II. However the succession is disputed by Aegon's older sister, Rhaenyra Targaryen. Both perishes in the following war called the Dance of Dragons.

In 131 AL Aegon III the Dragonbane, son of Rhaenyra, becomes king. During his reign the last of the Targaryen dragons dies.

In 157 AL Aegon III dies. He is succeeded by his eldest son Daeron I the Young Dragon. Daeron conqueres Dorne, but is unable to hold it.

In 161 AL Daeron I dies. He is succeeded by his younger brother Baelor the Blessed who is both septon and king.

In 171 AL Baelor I dies. He is succeeded by his younger brother Viserys II.

In 172 AL Viserys II dies. He is succeeded by his eldest son Aegon IV the Unworthy. His younger brother, Prince Aemon the Dragonknight is champion and some say lover to Queen Naerys Targaryen.

In 184 AL Aegon IV dies. Daeron II, Queen Naerys' son by either Aegon or Aemon, suceedes him. Daeron II marries Princess Myriah Martell and gives his own sister to the reigning Prince of Dorne bringing Dorne into the realm.

In 209 AL Daeron II dies. He is succeeded by his second son Aerys I.

In 221 AL Aerys I dies. He is succeeded by his younger brother Maekar I.

In 233 AL Maekar I dies. He is succeeded by his fourth son Aegon V the Unlikely.

C. 246 Al Gared is born.

C. 256 AL Gared becomes a member of the Night's Watch.

In 259 AL Aegon V dies. He is succeeded by his second son Jaehaerys II.

In 262 AL Jaehaerys II dies. He is succeeded by his only son Aerys II.

278 AL Waymar of House Royce is born.

Aerys II has Brandon Stark murdered.

Prince Rhaegar, Aerys II' heir, is slain by Robert Baratheon on the Trident.

During the Sack of King's Landing King Aerys is slain by Ser Jaime Lannister. Rhaegar's wife, Elia, and their two children, Princess Rhaenys and Prince Aegon, are also killed.

Queen Rhaella dies in childbed on Dragonstone.

During Greyjoy's Rebellion Rodrik Greyjoy is slain at Seagard and Maron Greyjoy is slain on the walls of Pyke.

Ser Waymar Royce becomes a Sworn Brother of the Night's Watch

Jon Arryn, Lord of the Eyrie, Hand of the King, dies.

Ser Waymar Royce, Gared and Will go out on a ranging riding north from the Wall for nine days on the track of a band of wildling raiders. Will scouts ahead and finds their camp with all the wildlings apparently dead. Gared and Ser Waymar quarrel about what to do next, Gared wanting to return and Waymar wanting check out the wildlings more closely. Gared claims the wildlings froze to death, but since the Wall had been weeping lately Waymar claims this is not possible. Waymar orders Will to show them the camp. Leaving Gared to guard the horses Will and Waymar walks the last stretch to find the camp empty. While Will is in a tree scouting the Others come. After a swordfight the Others slay Ser Waymar Royce and disappear. Will has climbed down to survey the scene when Ser Waymar comes back to life and strangles him.
