The Global Backyard Wrestling News awards are the awards which have been presented within the community of Global Backyard Wrestling News (GBYWN), most notiably the GBYWN End Year Awards and was created in 2006 since the iteration of the community by GBYWN owner Cam.

Originally, only one award alone was rewarded to a single federation until 2007 when the amount of awards given were increased. They were also first voted for in the forum community until a decision was made to have them exclusive to special personnel within to vote on and come to the final selection of the owner of the community.

Arguably and controversially not exactly accurate due to the high volume and consideration of nominations, GBYWN strives to select the utmost correct winners for their efforts. To date, there have been 4 End of Year awards that have taken place.[R]

GBYWN Legend of the Year

This award is honored to the backyard wrestlers who have worked to acquire the consideration of being called a legend in the recreational sport of backyard wrestling within the community Global Backyard Wrestling News. The award was also created in 2008. The inaugural winner of the award was The Prodigy from the federation Championship Wrestling Association. His stint in backyard wrestling ranged back to the mid-90's, and during his tenure in CWA beginning in 2005 displayed very professional technical proficiency which gained him much fandom and respect in the practice.

GBYWN Overall Wrestler of the Year

This award is proposed to backyard wrestlers who have overall given their best work and performance all year and was created since 2008 after there were only awards for different wrestling surfaces. The first winner of this award was PJ Matthews. His two compelling "I am Better Than You", and "Are You Alive" gimmicks rose him to popularity in 2008 climaxing with defeating considered marquee backyard wrestling athlete, Joe Randa.

GBYWN Federation of the Year

This award is given to the best backyard wrestling federation of the year that had the overall most outstanding presentation. The award was created in 2006 and for that year was the only award issued. The first winner was the backyard wrestling trampoline promotion, Extreme Wrestling Alliance (EWA). At that time, EWA was one of the leading trampoline federations when trampoline wrestling was at an all-time high.

GBYWN Best Video/Match of the Year

Given to the best match of the year available as a video. This awards was started in 2008 and the first winner was the Prodigy vs AJ Badd match at RLSW No Remorse 3, which was a high profile match of the year.
