The Global Backyard Wrestling News awards are the awards which have been presented within the community of Global Backyard Wrestling News (GBYWN), most notiably the GBYWN Year End Awards and was created in 2006 since the iteration of the community by GBYWN owner Cam.

Originally, only one award alone was rewarded to a single federation until 2007 when the amount of awards given were increased. They were also first voted for in the forum community until a decision was made to have them exclusive to special personnel within to vote on and come to the final selection of the owner of the community.

Arguably and controversially not exactly accurate due to the high volume and consideration of nominations, GBYWN strives to select the utmost correct winners for their efforts. To date, there have been 4 End of Year awards that have taken place (more)

• that the lead backyard wrestling-based channels on YouTube are IYHWA, GWC and 2KW respectively?

• that XBW Wrestling, GWC and 2KW are among very few backyard wrestling federations still heard of and have spanned over 10 years or more?

• that SnR Wrestling were the first to begin using live video streaming for their backyard wrestling supercard events and gain profit off of their product doing so?

• that Old School representing TDCW is a backyard wrestler still around that has gone through a tenure of 21 years in the practice?

• that Hardy Boyz, CM Punk, New Jack, The Insane Clown Posse, Nick Mondo, Rob Van Dam, Evan Evans, Bryan Danielson, A.J. Styles, Tyler Black, and Ruckus have all conceded to practicing the sport of backyard wrestling in their youth?
