History
As Freak-Sheet
After the events of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Doopliss was in the stage production of the events of said game. However, one evening Shadow Creatures from the Shadow Dimension appeared. Doopliss went with Beldam and Marilyn to see the Shadow King, who planned to invade Star World as the Shadow Queen did centuries prior. They attempted to kidnap Vivian as a traitor, but were stopped by The Yoshi Bodyguards and another traitor, Noshum, who went on to destroy the Shadow King.
Beldam still believed in the Shadow Monarchy, however, and Doopliss continued to follow her, unsure of what to do otherwise. At one point when the Star Rod was shattered, Doopliss assisted Beldam in trying to obtain a fragment of it, but were stopped by the YB. Not long after Doopliss' favorite hat, his first hat and the one given to him by his pet parrot, was stolen by Chibi.
Beldam, Marilyn and Doopliss later trapped the YB inside Rogueport Sewers with the intention of sacrificing them to resurrect the Shadow Queen and have her inhabit Chibi's body, but as Doopliss guarded the cage they convinced him to turn against Beldam and he set them free. After knocking out Beldam and Marilyn, Doopliss demanded Chibi gives him his hat back. In exchange he gave her like a million other ones. They then helped Doopliss make amends with his pet parrot.
As a Good Guy
Doopliss began to live in Twilight Town with his parrot for about a year. At one point the planet of Star World began to freeze over; Doopliss died from exposure and appeared in the Underwhere, where the YB had ended up and were working on fixing the planet's freezing. He helped them stop the dark side of Sneen and Dimentio from freezing and taking over Star World, and was sent back to the realm of the living.
Later that year, Noshum and Vivian had a marriage that Doopliss was invited to, as was Chibi. The marriage was interrupted by Beldam leading a group of shadow creatures who kidnapped Vivian, trying to marry her to the Shadow Prince. They chased after them through the Shadow Dimension, gathering the shattered remains of a crystal star powered with dark energy. Through this Doopliss both worked with Chibi but also spent time trying to avoid her advances.
At this point Doopliss and Chibi began hanging out, although more often than not Doopliss tried to get away from her advances. At one point they worked together to return Gluposs to his rich parents after he had ran away in exchange for a boatload of coins, but were tricked and got nothing. They went to Gluposs' parents' mansion to get their money, where they met Gluposs' incredibly strict fiancee, whom Doopliss became smitten with, resulting in some angry responses from Chibi. Doopliss and Gluposs switched places, unbeknownst to anyone, allowing Gluposs to escape. Doopliss was going to take Gluposs' place, but Chibi broke in and exposed his disguise.
At some unknown point later on Doopliss and Chibi were separated. Doopliss eventually left Star World to see the universe, but just ended up in some war-torn sector where he hung out at a bar all day until Chibi suddenly showed up and hired him as a mercenary.

- Chibi loves Doopliss, but Duth could never get Doopliss to love her back. Maybe Sub can!
