Slade

From Titanpedia

Slade Wilson, or simply Slade, is considered to be one of the Titans' largest threat, as his attacks are highly deadly, and he has excellent combat skills. Slade was originally known as Deathstroke the Terminator in the comics, but Cartoon Network didn't want to put anything that mentioned death in it (as it is a children's show), so they changed his title to the shortened version of his actual name.

History and Character Bio

Slade was chosen to become a super-soldier with unmatched strength and capabilities with often painful experiments. The scientists eventually succeeded, but they paid a terrible price, as Slade then brutally killed them. Slade used to reside in Gotham City, then became one of Batman (and possibly Robin)'s enemies. As they kept clashing with each other, Slade eventually moved to Jump City, where he frequently clashed with the Boy Wonder, Robin.

Slade, was then bent on finding an apprentice, turned his sights on Robin in the first season on Teen Titans. He eventually succeeded by threatening to kill his friends with the microscopic probes now in their bloodstream, but failed when Robin got himself infected with the probes while the probes had been activated. Robin then turned the tables on Slade, by making him realize that he would lose his apprentice if he killed his friends with them. Infuriated with the loss of control, Slade deactivated the probes by destroying the controller, and attacked the Titans, to be quickly defeated by them.

In Season Two, Slade was still looking for an apprentice, finding Terra, a metahuman with superpowers controlling Earth, to be a suitable replacement. Slade told her, while they were fighting in a cave, that the Titans would learn about her secret because Beast Boy would tell them, setting an early seed of mistrust. Terra eventually fled the Tower, because Robin had mentioned something about helping her to control her powers (he had figured on his own), thinking Beast Boy did tell them about it. She then turned to Slade, who taught her how to control her powers, and used her to go back to the Titans and win their trust. Slade then made Terra betray the Titans, and Beast Boy laid the final blow by telling her that she didn't have any friends (he was in a rage, at the time), crushing her. Terra then came back, under Slade's apprenticeship, with the intent of killing the Titans, with the help of Slade's neurological suit.

At first, Slade was proud of his new apprentice, thinking that she had finally killed the Titans, but when the Titans came back in a surprise attack, Slade was then angry at her for the Titans being alive, thinking it was her fault. Terra, frustrated with him, tried to walk out on being his apprentice, but Slade used his neurological suit she wore to control her. Slade was eventually killed when Terra reconciled with the Titans, and activated a volcano, killing him in the process with a burst of her geological power (which blew him off the piece of land they were on), making him land in the rising lava pit below.

Slade's only appearance in Season 3 was with the halogens that were on his mask that Robin had accidentally inhaled, causing him to see, hear, and feel Slade, even though he was not there. This led Robin to fight "Slade", hurting himself in the process the more he "fought" him, pushing his stress points to almost killing the young Boy Wonder.

Slade then made a Season 4 re-appearance, as a servant of Trigon, with pyrokinetic powers and fire demons to help (he used the fire demons in "The End: Part I" to retrieve Raven. He gave Raven her markings that would eventually release Trigon from his prison, and also forced her to realize her destiny and fulfill the prophecy, because he believed that Trigon would give him his life back once he had done his duties, and once he (Trigon) was about to be released. When Slade realized that Trigon had merely fooled him, Slade was stripped of his powers. Slade then led Robin to Raven on a one time peace treaty, promising him that things will just be the same after this, and forcibly received his life back from the person who was guarding the doors (by using his gadgets to make the door explode, killing the guard in the process). Slade then battled alongside the Titans, and fought against Trigon (as a revenge for his servitude). While Raven was defeating her father (or when Trigon and the Titans' attentions were diverted from him), Slade escaped.

Slade did not make a Season 5 appearance, unless you count a Slade-bot appearance fighting against Beast Boy while confronting him about Terra and her loss of memory in the Final Episode.
