- How to calculate the area of a rectangle.
- How to calculate the perimeter of a composite shape built of rectangles.
- How to calculate the perimeter of a composite shape built of rectangles.

- We won't go into the classroom until we're quiet. Every minute wasted out here will be added on at the end.

- No abnormal risks -- today will be just worksheet and whiteboard.

Starter
- Ask them to get out their homework diaries, pencil cases and exercise books.
- 10 mins on Ex 7A (page 116 from Impact 2R), questions 1 & 2. Write 'Circles Recap'
- In review of answers, ask them to copy down any definitions they are having problems with.

Development activities (including AFL)
- Introduce my weekly run in Bushy Park. How long is it? (5km.) Perimeter.
- Use the bathroom example in 15.1
- Rectangle formulae:
- Perimeter = 2 x (length + width)
- Area = length x width
- Then as much of p.252 as possible.
