Evaluation of Volume of a Cylinder
From Teach
What Went Well
- Spoke to the five or six to-be-detained students afterwards, established some rapport with most of them, and understood them a little more.
- They realise I am serious about maintaining order in class, and will issue detentions to achieve this.
- Excellent visual aids, according to RH.
What Could be Improved
- There was an error on the worksheet -- the suggested answer -- and it took two interventions by RH to get the message across to me.
- I forgot to take in the homework.
- I issued more detentions than I would want to in a good lesson.
- Will the disruptive students continue to disrupt, despite my talking to them? Yes.
- I need to use the right dialogues for these conversations -- asking them what they did wrong. That means I must be absolutely sure why they are getting the detention. And they must know immediately too.
- I was slow to cotton on to what they meant.
- RH felt some of my punishments were unjustly awarded, as did some of the pupils.
