The card will include matches resulting from scripted storylines and have results predetermined by WIW on the Rage brand. Storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television show Wednesday Night Rage and Dynamites Live, the latter of which is Dynamite Division-exclusive.
At SuperBrawl IX, Kevin McAlmond defeated Jeremy Calvert to win the International Championship. The following Wednesday on Rage, it was announced that Calvert would get a rematch at the championship at Chaos Theory. Later that evening, McAlmond and Kooper McAlmond were then scheduled to face Calvert and Matt Borske for the WIW World Tag Team Championship, after interference from both The Club of Chaos and Evolved Revolution members Kevin and Kooper defeated Borske and Calvert to retain the WIW World Tag Team Championship, due to Cory Simms turning on Borske and Calvert.
At SuperBrawl IX, The Club of Chaos (Dustin Simpson and Matt Hooper) defeated Craig Remsen and Seth Smith, Ryan Gleason and Brian Tobol and The Wolf Pack (Scott McCall and Derek Hale) in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder match to retain the WIW World Tag Team Championship. The following Wednesday, Rage General Manager Rex Martin scheduled a triple threat tag team elimination match to crown number one contenders at Chaos Theory. On the April 12 episode of Rage, Smith and Remsen defeated Gleason and Tobol, and The Wolf Pack; last eliminating the Wolf Pack to become the number one contenders at the event, the Club of Chaos revealed that Ryan Barnhart, Matt Hooper, James Burdick or the newest member of the group Josh Hooper would defend the titles at Chaos Theory.
