[edit] Background
Since the WIW reintroduced the brand extension in 2016, WIW Soul Survivor has centered around competition between Rage and ShowDown for brand supremacy. In September 2019, WIW's NGW brand, previously exclusive to the WIW Network, debuted on the NBC Network, solidifying its status as WIW's third major brand, and was subsequently added to the 2019 event as part of the brand competition theme.
[edit] Storylines
The show will include matches from scripted story lines, where wrestlers portray villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters. The scripted events build tension in a wrestling match or series of matches. Results are predetermined by WIW's writers on the Rage, ShowDown and NGW brands, while storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television shows, Wednesda Night Raw, Saturday Night ShowDown, and NGW.
At All Hail, Tyler Mane retained his WIW Heavyweight Championship against James Jude Courtney, Derek Mears, and Kane Hodder (who was accompanied by Richard Munoz) via submission, after forcing Courtney to tapout. Following the match, Mane, Mears and Hodder proceeded to further attack Courtney and attack Munoz; however, Munoz retaliated attacked Mane, Mears and Hodder with repeated chair shots, forcing all three to retreat. On the November 2 episode of ShowDown, Renae Geerlings revealed her "master plan" that got Mane, Hodder and Mears to align with one another, while also announcing that Mane was seeking revenge against Munoz for his actions at All Hail, saying that even if Munoz was going to Rage, her team of giants would follow no matter what management was gonna do to stop them.
