[edit] Storylines

The show will include matches resulting from scripted storylines, where wrestlers portray heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Results are predetermined by World Incorporated Wrestling's writers on the Rage and SmackDown brands, while storylines are produced on IWE's weekly television shows, Wednesday Night Rage and Saturday Night ShowDown.

Prior to Soul Survivor, a feud began between Michael Phelps and King Elijah. During the men's Soul Survivor elimination match, an altercation occurred between the two. After Elijah had essentially caused the elimination of their Team SmackDown partner Travis Capps, Phelps performed a Phelps Driver on Elijah, which resulted in Elijah's elimination, while Phelps went on to be the final participate from ShowDown to be eliminated after Elijah returned to ringside and hit Phelps with a steel chair. On the following ShowDown, Phelps called out Elijah, who claimed that if he was the final man for ShowDown, the outcome would have been different, and stated that Phelps had betrayed his team by attacking him. Phelps challenged Elijah to a match, however, Elijah instead introduced Michael Fonger and Jordan Keltz and Keltz challenged Phelps instead, in which Phelps won. Following the match, a brawl ensued. The following week, a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match between Reigns and Corbin was scheduled for TLC.

At Soul Survivor, Eric Stevens defeated Matt Borske, James Burdick, Charlie Lynch and Chris LaGreca with outside interference from The Lehr Family (John Lehr, Lynn Lehr, and Victoria Lehr) and Daniel Gonzalez. Later that evening, during the final moments of the Men's Soul Survivor elimination match between WIW World Champion Kevin McAlmond (representing Rage) and Phelps (representing ShowDown), Stevens attempted to cost McAlmond the match, but instead hit Phelps with the title belt. On the following Rage, Stevens demanded his title match, which was accepted by McAlmond. However, the match was called off after Stevens' stablemates Gleason and Tobol attacked McAlmond, only for Simpson and Dern fought off Gleason and Tobol, Following the match, a brawl ensued. Rex Martin than confronted both groups, Stevens demanded another title opportunity, but Martin denied it, saying that Stevens screwed up his title shot by having Gleason and Tobol interferee, before announcing that McAlmond would face Stevens at TLC in a non-title Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match, but did say "something" would be hanging above the ring, just not the title.
