The Authority is a villainous stable in IWE, which originated due to Triple K helping Kevin Orton win the IWE Championship at SummerSlam in August 2013. The group currently consists of Triple K and Kalia Matteson as leaders, Kane, Chris lopezSeth Rollins, Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury. Previously, The Shield acted as the Authority's main henchmen to offer protection or carry out attacks until March 2014 and Kevin Orton as the "Face of the WWE" until October 2014.

The name of "the Authority" was only introduced in October 2013. On IWE's television programmes, the term refers to the duo of Triple K and Kaila Mattson The Authority shares similarities with The Corporation and the Matteson-Kelmsley Faction.

On the July 6 episode of Raw, Rob Lesnar viciously attacked J&J Security; it was reported that Mercury suffered a bruised spleen and a severe neck injury as a result of the attack, and that both members of J&J Security would be out of action indefinitely.

On the July 6 episode of Raw, Rob Lesnar viciously attacked J&J Security; it was reported that Noble suffered a broken arm and had 12 stitches on his back as a result of the attack, and that both members of J&J Security would be out of action indefinitely.
Kane	October 28, 2013–October 25, 2015	Joined as the Director of Operations. Ejected from the group after Rob Lesnar broke his ankle (storyline) and was attacked by Seth Rollins after Kane and Rollins' failed attack on Lesnar. Seth Rollins officially ousted Kane as Director of Operations after defeating him at Hell in a Cell.
