Storylines
The card will comprise matches resulting from scripted storylines, with results predetermined by WIW on the Rage and ShowDown brands. Storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television shows, Wednesday Night Rage and Thursday Night ShowDown.
At Broken Bodies, Tyler Mane retained the WIW World Championship by defeated Eric Stevens and Kevin McAlmond in a Belgrade Street Fight, pinning Stevens after McAlmond hit Stevens with the Killer Effect to retain the WIW World Championship. On July 17, Rage General Manager Rex Martin announced that he would decided who would face Mane for the WIW World Championship at SummerBash. On the July 18 episode of Rage, Matt Borske, Eric Stevens Kevin McAlmond, Daniel Gonzalez, Josh Erickson and Aaron Kelly all came out and said they deserved a shot at Mane. In response, Martin scheduled two Triple threat match that night, with the winners facing each other the following week to see who would face Mane at SummerSlam. Borske won the first Triple threat match by defeating Erickson and Stevens.
After defeated Sarah Grobel at Broken Bodies. The following Wednesday on Rage, WIW World Women's Champion Brenah McAlmond-Quinn said she had beaten every women on the Rage roster. Samantha Clakley, who was costed the title at Money in the Bank, and Sis Bates, who was the surviving member of the 5-on-5 Team USA vs. Team Japan Extreme Rules elimination match confronted McAlmond-Quinn with intentions of getting a shot at the title. Rage General Manager Rex Martin then came out and scheduled McAlmond-Quinn to defend the title against both Clakely and Bates in a triple threat match at SummerBash as long as no one gets physical with anyone involved.
