The card will include matches resulting from scripted storylines and have results predetermined by WIW on the Rage brand. Storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television show Wednesday Night Rage and Dynamites Live, the latter of which is Dynamite Division-exclusive.

At SuperBrawl IX, Kevin McAlmond defeated Jeremy Calvert to win the International Championship. The following Wednesday on Rage, it was announced that Calvert would get a rematch at the championship at Chaos Theory. Later that evening, McAlmond and Kooper McAlmond were then scheduled to face Calvert and Matt Borske for the WIW World Tag Team Championship, after interference from both The Club of Chaos and Evolved Revolution members Kevin and Kooper defeated Borske and Calvert to retain the WIW World Tag Team Championship, due to Cory Simms turning on Borske and Calvert.

On the SuperBrawl IX pre-show, Richard Allen defeated Tristan McNatt to retain the WIW Dynamite Division Championship. On the April 6 episode of Dynamites Live, McNatt won a fatal four-way number one contender's match to earn a rematch against Allen. On the April 12 episode of Rage, a rematch was scheduled for Chaos Theory.

At SuperBrawl IV, Brent Huntley defeated Kevin Hunter, Mark Semmler and previous champion, Jon Rispens in a Fatal four way elimination match to win the WIW Heavyweight Championship. On the April 12 episode of Rage, it was then announced that Tyler Mane would not be able to defend the WIW World Championship, due to prior arrangements outside WIW, ShowDown General Manager Turf Finnegan and Rage General Manager Rex Martin agreed for the WIW Heavyweight Championship rematch to happen at Chaos Theory. Also agreeing that if Rispens does not regain the title, he will be traded to the Rage, Rispsens would agree if the match would be held a match of his choice "House of Horrors" match, Huntley accepted the challenge. However, on the April 21 episode of ShowDown, it was announced that Rispens had agreed to terms to go to Rage and due to that, the match was made non-title.

At SuperBrawl IX, The Club of Chaos (Dustin Simpson and Matt Hooper) defeated Craig Remsen and Seth Smith, Ryan Gleason and Brian Tobol and The Wolf Pack (Scott McCall and Derek Hale) in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder match to retain the WIW World Tag Team Championship. The following Wednesday, Rage General Manager Rex Martin scheduled a triple threat tag team elimination match to crown number one contenders at Chaos Theory. On the April 12 episode of Rage, Smith and Remsen defeated Gleason and Tobol, and The Wolf Pack; last eliminating the Wolf Pack to become the number one contenders at the event, the Club of Chaos revealed that Ryan Barnhart, Matt Hooper, James Burdick or the newest member of the group Josh Hooper would defend the titles at Chaos Theory.
