After Mark Semmler was ([[Kayfabe|kayfabe]]) fired from the IWE after failing to defeat [[Kevin McAlmond]] on the September 2nd episode of Raw, Goldust unsuccessfully attempted to defeat McAlmond in a match on Raw the next week in order to get Cody his job back. The next week, their father Dusty attempted to convince [[Kaila Matteson]] to give his sons their jobs back, which was also unsuccessful and ended with Matteson ordering the [[Marc Beltran|Big Show]] to knock Dusty out. On the September 23rd episode of Raw, they ran through the crowd and jumped [[The Shield]] before their 11-on-3 handicap elimination match, which they wound up losing. Stardust and Goldust (also known as The Brotherhood or The Semmler Brothers) is a professional wrestling tag team competed in the International Wrestling Entertainment (IWE) promotion. Mark and Goldust are half-brothers in real life and were once managed by their father, IWE Hall of Famer "The American Dream" Dusty Semmler.

The tag team was formed when Mark was fired from the IWE after losing to Kevin Orton in a match prompted by Cody's questioning of the company's chief operating officer Triple K's authority. The following week, Goldust fought Orton in an attempt to have Mark rehired, but was also fired after he lost. Dusty attempted to convince the Authority to rehire his sons. Eventually, Triple K and his wife Kaila Matteson decided that the half-brothers would face the two members of the Shield: Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins, at Battleground, but stipulated that if Mark and Goldust lost, they would never work in the IWE again and Dusty would lose his job as a trainer at the Performance Center. This match marked the debut of Mark and Goldust as a tag team. Their victory over Reigns and Rollins led to an immediate return of their jobs. But after almost eight months, they were disbanded at Payback due to the number of times Mark and Goldust lost.

They were one-time IWE Tag Team Champions in October 2013 after they captured the title in a no disqualification match against the Shield (Reigns and Rollins) with help from the Big Show on Raw. In January 2014, their reign ended when they were defeated by the New Age Outlaws at the Royal Rumble Kickoff.
