The Authority refers to the duo of Triple K and Kaila Matteson in IWE. Their professional wrestling gimmick is that of tyrannical, power-abusing and sadistic co-owners, who justify their actions as being "best for business".
Various other characters have been associated or affiliated with the Authority, including Kevin McAlmond, their hand-picked champion and "face of the IWE", The Shield, who act as henchmen to mete out punishments, while Kane acts as IWE's "Director of Operations". The group of the Authority and their affiliated wrestlers shares similarities with The Corporation and the Matteson-Kelmsley Faction.
