Count Zeth Acubierre Holt is a Freikorps officer with the rank of Field Marshal. He is a member of the General Staff and the CO of the FSAC.

NonCanon Information

The Zeth Holt character is the primary internet alias of the member/user commonly referred to as Zeth.

Zeth was the fifth member to join the Freikorps. He was accepted and assigned the rank of Colonel on May 20, 2007, at 22:09. He was promoted to the rank of Brigadier-General on July 10, 2007, 11:26, for no particular reason other than Cataphrak was in a happy, generous mood. Later, when he established the Freikorps HeadQuarters, he was promoted to the rank of Major-General, confirmed on January 13, 2008, 18:14. There was a brief period of time when Zeth was acting as at the rank of Colonel-General, but the exact dates and any confirmation of this promotion are unknown. At the start of the Stahlhelm Exercise, Zeth became an acting Field Marshal (April 1, 2008, 22:29). When the exercise was over, the promotion was made official and confirmed on June 3, 2008, 24:59.

Originally hired as an engineer of any sort to the Nightmare Restaurant and subcontracted under the Freikorps, Zeth moved on as more or less a "techhead" of the R&D Deptartment, although still submitting to Cataphrak's more experienced leadership in mecha and flagship design. As the division roles of the BattleFleet, Marines, and FighterCommand became more firmly established, he went on to be the highest ranked active member of the technologically inclined Marines Division, only outdone by the then vanished Earthfire. He now specializes in personnel organization and is in charge of the overall upkeep and maintenance of Freikorps Bases. As part of personnel organization, he is also in charge of designing and issuing the current version of the patented Freikorps signature badges, which includes personnel caricatures based on game art from the Fire Emblem series by Nintendo.

Zeth, despite being actually aged 71 years, has the body and mind of someone approximately 24 years of age, undoubtedly the result of being born on the planet with the highest known degree of medical technology sophistication in combination with his mixed Takaran heritage (the average Takaran lifespan without medical augmentation is approximately 18 years longer than the average non-augmented Terran lifespan). He has short trimmed but not buzzed blonde hair, deep lake blue eyes, and an average complexion. His hair lays in somewhat of a part in his hair, but is usually just swept back. He has a large, muscular frame and broad shoulders, and measures 196cm (~6'5") tall. This often belies his role as more of an administrator than combat expert, though he is a very capable and competent field commander and fighter. His favorite outfit is actually the standard Freikorps BattleFleet uniform, blue, black, and silver, though he is the head of the Freikorps Marines. He always carries a tricorder and his Rydberg Service Pistol, which is his own design.

Zeth Holt is an imposing young man. He is ambitious, and will do whatever is necessary to get what he wants. This, in combination with his usual smirk, gives him the look of a mischievous prankster. Not something he’s not known to be, but misleading all the same. He’s blunt yet sarcastic in his sometimes seemingly crass nature. Not that Zeth is a bad person, he does care about his officers, and has a fierce loyalty to Cataphrak Stormraider. But as one person, whose name has been mysteriously missing from official records for some time, once put it: His eyes hold little sympathy. Despite his willingness to prove himself honorable, it is not below Zeth to fight with low, dishonorable tactics and underhanded methods. As he puts it: Honor is a nice bonus, winning is what matters.

Though he describes himself as a “loyal Freikorps myrmidon,” it is interesting to note that Zeth does not always see eye-to-eye with Fleet Admiral Cataphrak Stormraider. The prime example of this is the development of the 1=2 shield, which was originally created by Zeth and is meant to undo the effects of DBZ Weaponry. It was finally agreed that a definitive solution could not be reached, and DBZ weaponry as well as 1=2 technology is currently offline.

Personal History

Zeth is the son of Marcus Cleation Holt and an unknown mother, and the brother of Vincent Broden Holt. He was born on Takari on November 24, 2190, and raised by his biological aunt, Vera Paulus. He was never close to his biological brother, nor his adopted brothers. The only "sibling" he claims to be very close to is his adopted sister and biological cousin, Serenity Marie Paulus. Once of age, he returned to the traditional family views and values that his father and brother had discarded. Initially joining the Takaran controlled Galactic Armada, Zeth rose to the rank of Commodore of the GA Interstellar Navy before making the transition to the GA Army Division, where he steadily continued to rise through the ranks by merit and exploitation of family ties and public support. There was even talk that he may be chosen to replace his cousin, William von Paulus, as Emperor-Guard. As Marshal-General, Zeth used his General Staff posting and manipulated his family relation to the Emperor-Guard to reinitiate the imperial expansion policies begun by his great grandfather, Darian Holt. It was during this time that the Takaran Empire came in contact with the Terran Sphere. Zeth chose to leave the Galactic Armada, definitively leaving the position of Emperor-Guard to his cousin. He instead joined the Terran controlled Freikorps, knowing that his family was Terran in descent and wanting to know more about his heritage. Discovering it was really not incredibly different from Takari, Zeth remained with the Freikorps due to their increasing influence and access to Val'diri technology. It was not long before he was again in the chair of a General Staffer, in a rank and role almost completely equivalent to his role in the Armada.

The Freiheit Exercise

Zeth's involvement in the Freiheit Exercise was originally as the leader of all Freikorps forces on the planet. He brought an original landing force of one Freikorps Marine Corp (60,000). Though mostly a “backlines commander,” Zeth did take part in the battle. At one point he introduced the concept of a Dual Command Interface that allowed for field command and action from the comfort of his command ship, including such things as direct visuals from a designated officer and control of opposing defense structures that were used against the enemy by use of the DCI. Due to other more pressing requirements, Zeth had to relinquish command to Fleet Admiral Cataphrak part way through the exercise. He remained as a neutral judge of the affairs as well as to assess the losses, gains, and overall style of the opposing sides.

The Stahlhelm Exercise

Before the start of the second Freikorps exercise, Zeth was contacted by Cataphrak and Piggie to head up the opposing side. Cataphrak had secretly admitted Piggie to the force, and he was to aid Zeth in a faux rebellion against the Freikorps. Zeth created a false story and took as many people as he could against the Freikorps. The only people knowing about the secret being Piggie and the General Staff, leaving the others to think it was a real rebellion. Thus, Zeth created the Stahlhelm, and became the rebellion leader until the end, where the arrangement was revealed to all. Afterwards, Zeth remained as Commander of the Stahlhelm, much as Cataphrak is to the Freikorps, and was promoted within the Freikorps to the rank of Field Marshal.

Acheivements

To date, the biggest accomplishments of this officer are his creation of the current Freikorps Badge System, the Stahlhelm Alliance, and the Freikorps HeadQuarters, which serve as the central staging area of all Freikorps Bases. He is also a leading figure in personal weapons development.
