The Beginning
The team first saw the light of day on the January 9th, 2009 episode of Friday Night Mayhem. Doctor Cube originally introduced each member and they all talked about why the group was formed, but there was no mention of who leads it or who originally conceived the idea in the first place.
Planting The Seeds of Success
Following Team Mayhem's formation they immediately began feuding with the young Hood Tribe faction originally created by DJ Hipp as a sub-faction of The Immortal Sinners in 2007. The group is currently headed by Khwame Myles and Ghost and are primarily feuding with Chris Jericho over both the Trans-Continental and Magnum championships, the latter of which involves a tournament featuring all of the Team Mayhem members apart from Nabeel. On the January 9th episode of Mayhem the group found their first major success on the very day they were formed, with each member picking up vital wins to get one up on the Hood Tribe capped by Nawaz defeating John Cena to become the new Universe Champion. This victory saw the first DXX Title in the hands of Team Mayhem. A second title soon followed at The Last Stand, with Cube winning the DXX Magnum Championship by defeating Hood Tribe member DJ Hipp and fellow team member Chris Jericho in a triple threat elimination match. Around this time Team Mayhem changed their name to The Golden Age.
The Split
By early February signs were showing that The Golden Age weren't entirely happy with the group. Crisis had hardly been seen since the group formed and Nawaz and Jericho weren't happy following rumours that Doctor Cube originally wanted to change the Team Mayhem name to 'Team Cube' rather than The Golden Age. On the February 6th episode of Friday Night Mayhem Cube took it upon himself to turn on his teammates, joining The Hood Tribe in the process. Nawaz also picked up what looked to be a long-term injury and was forced to vacate his Universe Title, and it is currently unknown where Crisis and Jericho stand and whether they will continue as a de facto tag team in the future.
