King Regitous

Regitous was the last great King of Aberdon, a righteous and well-loved ruler by the people of his land. Once a famous adventurer with Mosslaide and Eldonian, Regitous gave up his wandering lifestyle when he won the hand of Aberdon's princess Erica in a jousting match. A pious man (though not a paladin), Regitous was also highly regarded by the spiritual leaders of the province, as well as the political Court Mages. Under Regitous, Aberdon prospered, seeing new trade agreements, and a great diminishment in the number of monsters who plagued the roads and waterways. Unknown to many, one of the secrets of Regitous's prosperity and success were his numerous agents, each of whom bore the fabled Mark of SKRY. Alas, the SKRY were too far away when Darkainian determined that the King had to die. Under orders of the The Cracked, a doppleganger slipped into the castle and murdered the king, taking his place briefly as ruler of Aberdon. The doppleganger failed to anticipate the powers of the returning SKRY agents, who unmasked the doppleganger and defeated it in a momentous battle in full view of Leukridia's population. When the population learned what had happened to their King, the mourning went on for twelve whole days. Aberdon has never seen such a King since.
