Content Does Cortez wear some goggle type thing over his eyes. Which don't have a band. At first I thought this but now I'm confused.
Post Info ILHI 10:10, 13 October 2007 (EDT)
Content The information is still there. It's just next to the infobox rather than by just the text by itself.
Post Info Dj Master 14:20, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
Content ILHI,you blame me for deleting stuff etc,but why did you delete some of the Lt. Black info! Im just curious thats all.

Content HELLO,I'M BACK! DID YAAA MISS ME! Well i looked at the TSFP AI's and sorry about the mistakes! It's just that i thought what they were. Like Lazurus Mumble eg. I just thought it was 4 because i don't usally don't look at the AI's and i think i know them of by heart {which i don't!} so there you go! By the way as you can see i've figured out how to do infoboxes! {A day later.}Immmmmmmmmmm sooooooooooooo boreddddddddd
Post Info ILHI 20:05, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Okay.
Post Info Dj 19:46, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Okay, so Dj master and ILHI doesn't go together. But i have a solution. Give a me few months as I haven't been on the wiki very long SO...I'm now going to check some AIs of characters in the games. And if we have a disagreement (as usaul)...let's just say we're rather stuck! Agreed!
Post Info ILHI 15:53, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content I actually couldn't care less if you're right or not. The point is you cannot prove it and have no evidence.
Post Info Dj 19:46, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content What does it take to give the right information to people! If you see trailer about TS4 in 2008, don't come crying to me!
Post Info Drifting 12:57, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Dj, actually take time to read my whole post about using Infoboxes down there. I can't make it any simpler than that explanation.

As for TS4, since everything is speculative about it at the moment, it is best to provide a link to the page where you found the information about it coming out next summer. If you can't do that, then please quit editing the Did You Know section to say otherwise. If you continue to add "TS4 will come out next summer" without backing it up, I'll start considering it vandalism and action will be taken. Consider this a warning.

Post Info ILHI 12:10, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Then look it up again and provide a link.
Post Info Dj 16:07, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content TS4 will come out next summer! I looked it up!
Post Info ILHI 11:39, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content I didn't ban you, and the only reason I said that if anyone edits the TSFP stars is because they're all correct, I spent ages last night making sure they were. I told you how to use infoboxes, and as they are vital in pages:- Helping us would be using them.

If you don't know how to use them, then don't worry, you just won't be able to use them now. If you want to help, go here and fill in the missing details on the pages. All of them on there should have the infobox ready, just a few ?s that need to be filled in.

Post Info Dj 15:25, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content No really, just leave me alone. Because you obvisly {however you spell it} don't want help from me. I thought this was gonna be fun. I personlly think TS is the best game ever! leave me alone if you've banned me editing!
Post Info ILHI 10:57, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content We would, if you learnt. Basically, go to a page with infoboxes, click edit, copy the Infobox part, from {{Infobox *| to the ending }} and then paste into character that needs an infobox and edit with correct info.
Post Info Dj 11:18, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Not knowing how to make infoboxes is not a excuse! I literally don't know! Now just leave me alone!
Post Info Drifting 20:59, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Dj, saying you don't know how to make infoboxes is not a valid excuse. On both of your accounts' talk pages, Dj and Dj master, I have left friendly notices showing you where the Edit Guide is. On the Edit Guide page, there is a link to the Infoboxes page, which includes the Character infobox. To add an infobox, simply copy and paste the Character infobox code from the Infobox page into the top of the character page you are editing, and add in information accordingly. Judging from some of your edits of pages that already contained infoboxes when you added AI info to them, you know how to edit infoboxes.

Also, the Default AI of characters is the same on all copies on the TimeSplitters games, unless you have turned on the option of choose character attributes. Please make sure you're using Default AI ratings when adding AI. If you don't know a Default AI for all the games the character was edited in, add the AI for the ones you do know and leave a "?" in for the games you don't know. There's a good chance a character's AI changed from one game to another, so don't just assume they're always the same.

Post Info Dj master 15:57, 7 October 2007
Content I don't know how make infoboxes yet so listen up! Its just that the AIs on my games are different from yours OKAY! Eg cpt.ash's:TS2:4 TSFP:4. You know where im coming from.
Post Info Xylaquin 16:31, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Ah Imageshack! What's next to go? ^_^ I'm saving some images now, cos I have no backup and had to re-create the logo. For the time being you'll have to put up with this 5-minute-job logo, i'll soon replace it with a better worked one (you may notice some white parts). Even using a transparent png won't get rid of some of the white parts of the portal.
Post Info ILHI 16:23, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Touch the TSFP AI on any Character pages and I will temporarily ban you. They are all right, I just went through every character to make sure they were. And I'm not joking here, I've not been able to do my homework, A. Because I don't want to, B. Because of this. They are right, and unless there was a different version of the game made where they changed the AI on a few characters, there ain't going to be editing to them.

Saying that, TS2 AI may be wrong.

Post Info Drifting 10:02, 6 October 2007 (EDT)
Content I replaced the logo with the other one on the Main Page (which still works), but it seems that it was actually a different logo, because it doesn't fit correctly. I suppose we'll have to wait for Xylaquin to re-upload the old logo.

Content The Mapmaker Wiki seems kind of dead. It was a good idea in principle, since the Mapmaker is such a complex program. I'd love to help out, but I don't want to be the only one.
Post Info Xylaquin 12:45, 5 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Fixed the TS1 image. Also ILHI, are we gonna use the Mapmaker Wiki?
Post Info ILHI 11:58, 5 October 2007 (EDT)
Content Add them to the Trivia pages.

Also we need a new image on the front page for TS1.

Post Info stickmeninc 5 October 2007
Content Have you guys ever thought of creating a TimeSplitters: Future Perfect game Mistakes page, because I can think of one massive mistake in the game and it isn't a glitch.

The mistake is this: On the first level the bridge gets destroyed and then the TimeSplitter Mothership is destroyed, but when you go back there in the second from last level to protect your past self from the Time assains the TimeSplitter Mothership gets destroyed first and then the bridge.

Post Info Vermilion Maiden 5 October 2007
Content You probably noticed this already, but the picture of the TimeSplitters game case thing isn't showing up on the main page anymore
Post Info Fauch 17:40, 1 October 2007 (EDT)
Content I also thought it is small, but the other guy says medium, so when I saw this I wasn't sure if it was a pretty big small level or a pretty small medium level...
Post Info ILHI 11:53, 28 September 2007 (EDT)
Content Mall isn't that big is it, from memory, it was rather small with a little street on the side and an area on the second floor. Small if you ask me.
Post Info Fauch 21:10, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
Content At the beginning of the level, if you look up, you can see a little bit of blue.
Post Info ILHI 14:45, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
Content I didn't even know you could see the sky on Cyberden.
Post Info Fauch 14:27, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
Content I'm editing the maps section, it misses informations a bit and you are wrong about some things.
Post Info Drifting 15:59, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
Content Fine, we'll disregard weapons then. As for the allies thing, I think we've got a good system already. Just changing it to bots would be confusing because you wouldn't be able to differentiate between allies and enemies.
Post Info ILHI 10:07, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
Content Noticed the weapons thing, although we'd have to spend time checking where each 5/6 weapons spawn and match them up with the places the weapons spawn on the map. Not much a point anyway, the strategy is what people follow and that should mention all weapons needed anyway.

An allies section would help for Arcade League, that's the only think I would consider changing. Or we could just chane "enemies" to "bots" on the template.

Post Info Drifting 16:56, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
Content Heavythehobbit: Please don't spam in TS Chat.

I was looking through the Arcade League pages and I realized I didn't add a category for weapons in the Infobox for either Arcade League or Challenge. Anyway, I could go back and edit the Infoboxes to include this category, but that would mean we'd have to go back and edit all existing Infoboxes to include the new category. I could also add a spot for Allies and anything else I forgot if I were to do that. Anyway, what do you all think?

Post Info Heavythehobbit 15:38, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
Content Honk!
Post Info ILHI 12:39, 19 September 2007 (EDT)
Content Oh yes, they do lack correct info. I think someone went around the pages and input a number from 1 - 5. In TS2 Cortez is a 5 star. So someone went and put 5 star on the other Cortez attires. He's 4 star in Future Perfect though. And I've had to change nearly every AI on Future Perfect so far if it was entered already.
Post Info Drifting 16:01, 18 September 2007 (EDT)
Content I don't know, perhaps we could focus our efforts on something? Like completing the Weapons section? There's only a few TS1 weapons that still need pages. Or we could focus on improving the character pages, since many of those lack info (or correct info).
Post Info ILHI 09:52, 18 September 2007 (EDT)
Content Well, actually, I edit quite a bit. Although it's usually adding the "Improvement Badge" and "Need Info" banners. I'm lazy.
Post Info Xylaquin 02:47, 18 September 2007 (EDT)
Content Any reason other than simple laziness? I can't think of any others.
Post Info Drifting 17:20, 17 September 2007 (EDT)
Content We seem to have come to a bit of a stand-still, both in terms of our chatting and our editing. :(
Post Info Koopa64 18:30, 28 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Oh, so Reviews are a bad idea? Well, I just thought it would be a good idea, if you guys think they aren't important to the Wiki, no harm done. :)
Post Info Drifting 15:35, 28 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Reviews are entirely opinion, and they really have no place on a Wiki. I'm not saying your review's bad at all, but it'd be more suited to your personal web site than to the Wiki. It'd be akin to adding a review of a famous book in Encyclopedia Brittanica - it doesn't really add anything, because personal opinions are all debatable. I realize this Wiki doesn't adhere too much to Wikipedia's NPOV (Neutral Point of View) policy, and that's fine (personally, it's actually better the way it is lol), but reviews are just too much opinion and not enough unbiased fact to merit having here. Sorry.
Post Info Xylaquin 11:13, 28 August 2007 (EDT)
Content I'm going to be rather harsh and say I don't think it's a good idea. The reason behind this new responce is because I just sat and thought what a review is: an opinion of how good a game is. And the problem is the keyword: opinion. It's okay to state what the community thinks of something (ie. "Many fans prefer TS2's challenge mode over TSFP's") but not the writer's personal opinion, because a personal opinion is not as factual as the statistic "Many fans prefer".

Please do not take this critism the wrong way. It's just that if you take away the opinion parts of the review, you're left with an article that basically is the same as this page, and then what's the point in having reviews in the first place?

Post Info ILHI 07:35, 28 August 2007 (EDT)
Content I like the fact that you reviewed the different aspects.

However

  • Goldeneye, never played it, and it is not a TimeSplitters game.
  • Never compare a game to its sequels. Why? Most reviews are reviewed soon after the game. When TS4 is released and you write one, you wont say "it didn't match up to the standard of TS5", it doesn't exist.
  • The Story was great, didn't match up to TS2 or FP however, but than I couldn't say that.
  • Music and Sound, full marks for me. TimeSplitters games have the best soundtracks, only a few Final Fantasy games come close, and most of the time it's only a few tracks. Orchestrated music doesn't belong in TimeSplitters, a Frantic FPS.
  • Mentioning of TS2 in Overall
  • You say the mapmaker is phenominal and simple-- but not great?
  • Never compare to sequels.

Apart from that, it's good.

Post Info Xylaquin 02:50, 28 August 2007 (EDT)
Content TimeSplitters is a completely different series to Goldeneye. Despite coming after it, TimeSplitters is only related to it in that the 4 founding members of FRD worked on Goldeneye.
Post Info Koopa64 16:51, 27 August 2007 (EDT)
Content I was kinda hoping the rest of you would help clean that one up and start the other ones. If you think you can make the review better, try editting it yourself, I'm sure you're far better at formal writing than I am... :(

But I have to agree with you, sorry for mentioning Goldeneye so many times, but wasn't TimeSplitters suppose to be another follow-up to Goldeneye? I tried to have some balance between Goldeneye, TimeSplitters itself and it's sequels.

Post Info Xylaquin 16:36, 27 August 2007 (EDT)
Content To be honest the first few lines are a bit chatty, and throughout the review you keep mentioning Goldeneye (I've really got to play that game for more than 10 minutes). Please do remember that since this is a wiki, your review may be changed here and there. Apart from that, they're alright.
Post Info Koopa64 15:37, 27 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Please tell me what you think of my TimeSplitters Review, did I do a good job? Is it formal enough? I also did a Reviews page where you can access the reviews easier. :)
Post Info Xylaquin 02:42, 27 August 2007 (EDT)
Content I would give it a go, but expect it to be changed here and there. Wiki's are more of fact than opinion, and if I were to review TS2 for example I'd compare it to the other TS games rather than other FPS's. But give it a shot!
Post Info Koopa64 19:07, 26 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Also, guys, if it's not too much trouble, do you guys think adding professional unbiased reviews of the three TS games would be good? I have this Xbox Magazine's Guide to Halo 2 (don't ask me why I have it and PLEASE don't call traitor). Along with everything Halo 2, it had a review of Halo 2 in it and they constantly praised it, ick. Anyway, do you guys think reviews should be part of the Wiki?
Post Info Koopa64 18:32, 25 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Drifting, I assume Struan's MapMaker is for Windows only? I have a Mac, so I can't use Windows programs. And my Mac is too old to use Virtual PC very well.

But I have to agree with you on one thing, a dedicated MapMaker Wiki would be a good idea, since the MapMaker in TS is very robust and versatile. :)

Post Info Drifting 10:11, 25 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Koopa: So you're saying that Struan's Mapmaker isn't good enough for your means? As far as the online MapMaking community goes, Struan's program is still pretty much the accepted standard for showing maps to other people online. It's probably the easiest way to share maps, since the program can convert maps into web-ready HTML (Example here).

However, I'm not sure how well the Wiki would be able to display an HTML map. One option is to create your map in Struan's MapMaker, take a screenshot of it and post the pic up onto the Wiki along with map info. At the moment, this is really the only way I can think of, short of sending maps into the TimeSplitters Map Connection or starting your own Mapmaker site independent of the Wiki.

ILHI: MapMaker Wiki is a good idea. The TS Wiki doesn't go very in depth into Mapmaker (at least not yet), so a Wiki dedicated specifically to it is a great idea.

Post Info ILHI 07:54, 25 August 2007 (EDT)
Content I've lead a lot of links to this site. All I need to do now is add maps, and maybe some navigation stuff. I'm also gonna get pictures and possibly use that program where you can create your maps online. link
Post Info Xylaquin 05:36, 25 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Koopa: Still, you could use those programs then post the output upon a page upon that link.

ILHI: Tell me if you get it up and running and we'll interlink. :)

Post Info Koopa64 21:27, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Drifting, that's not what I meant, what I meant was a mapmaking tool of some sort, either offline or online. Kinda like those mapmaking tools that were popular for a time, but became obsolete. Words are not enough to express or to emulate a map, we need a VISUAL aid to show people our maps.
Post Info ILHI 15:59, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
Content That's not right! I edited loads of pages today, editing one or two figures. Does it have to have a link on the page in stead or something?

On the mapmaker thing. Well, because I wanted to add my maps, but didn't want to spam here, I was gonna create a TimeSplitters Map Maker Wiki. I forgot to do that, I'm gonna do it anyway. Just because I like making maps.

Post Info Drifting 14:34, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Well, I checked on the Editthis main page about the new anti-spam verification system. Supposedly, it will ask for verification now only when someone is adding a new link (which is why I've kept my username unlinked for this post to test it). I've suggested to the admin that it only ask for verification when a user is posting an external link. We'll see how that works out.

EDIT: It still comes up. How annoying.

Post Info Drifting 14:22, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
Content About anti-spam - hmm, that's odd. We might want to inquire about it.

Koopa64: We already have a place on TS Wiki to share custom maps - the Mapmaker Ideas page. ;)

Post Info Koopa64 13:59, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Well, spam problems aside, I think we should do something about custom Mapmaker levels, I have tons of TS:FP levels and TS2 levels that I want to share with you guys, but we have no means of doing so. Sure there have been several times where this idea flopped, but this is the TSWiki, it needs some user-made maps too. I personally think this is a serious issue we haven't dealt with yet.

Can you admins do something about this?

Post Info Xylaquin 16:14, 23 August 2007 (EDT)
Content I haven't noticed it yet. Maybe editthis decided to add such a feature.

EDIT: Noticed it. Perhaps they heard our call ^_^

Post Info Drifting 14:37, 23 August 2007 (EDT)
Content I'm noticing that in order to edit a lot of pages, you have to enter a code now. Is this the new anti-spam device?
Post Info Koopa64 19:35, 20 August 2007 (EDT)
Content ... It doesn't seem to follow the Sticky code, but ok, I'll try it.

... >_> It isn't working... All I get is "Template:Sticky - Example". :(

Post Info ILHI 16:28, 20 August 2007 (EDT)
Content That's just an example, it isn't but, if you want to add another sticky, then add this on the end.
|{{ (Insert sticky name) }}
|-

Post Info Koopa64 14:03, 20 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Umm... What's that sticky's purpose? I thought the Custom sticky was for making personalized stickies.
Post Info ILHI 04:49, 20 August 2007 (EDT)
Content It's gonna change, I'm on it right now. Also, my old TS1 and TS2 saves were wiped, along with my brothers, as was my TSFP, but I has made a copy to my memory card. So this meaning the totals are not my totals. As I didn't go on TS1 a lot in the olden days however, I can give my TS1, and TSFP.

Also, If you want to add more stickies, add this after the last sticky:

|-
|{{Sticky - something}}
Post Info Koopa64 18:52, 19 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Hey Xylaquin, thanks for the All sticky, now I can add some more without messing up my page. :D

Another thing, I think posting you're total playtime in the TS games is something we should start doing. I would like to know how long you admins have played the TS games. :) Go to my page to see what I mean.

I'll change their userpage.

Post Info Nevar00 14:23, 19 August 2007 (EDT)

Post Info Drifting 12:42, 19 August 2007 (EDT)

EDIT: Notice that all of the spambots have 6 character names?

Post Info ILHI 08:05, 19 August 2007 (EDT)
Content smiley3.gif That's a lot.

Also, should we delete the "All Outdoors" category, for now anyway? Because there is one map, and it isn't all outdoors.

Post Info Xylaquin 06:57, 19 August 2007 (EDT)
Content New Category: Wiki - Spambot

On visiting the Userlist, I noticed that there were around 50 other spambot accounts lying in wait untill they strike yet another talk page with links. On a more positive note, there also a new sticky I made. Since some of us have All the TimeSplitters game, I've created a "All" sticky which states this. It saves people using 3 stickies.

Post Info Koopa64 18:46, 18 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Also, I added another sticky to my page.

Are YOU a supporter of Classic Gaming?

Post Info Koopa64 18:25, 18 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Sorry I can't be of any help to you guys on this matter, I'm not really Admin material... :(

In other news, I found somebody who (evidently) discovered the "Play as Monkey in Monkey Assistant" glitch. :)

Post Info ILHI 18:01, 18 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Bots aren't clever enough to go and email an email address with their email. Are they?

I come on here loads. Just because it's in my chain of websites I visit, so, yeah, we can do it fairly quickly, but it's really annoying.

Post Info Drifting 17:57, 18 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Hmm, maybe. But how are we going to be able to tell who's a bot and who's not based solely on an e-mail address. Granted, this system would allow us to block the most obvious offenders, but we might block out some legit users in the process. It's a bit of a conundrum, really. I really don't think we have enough of a problem with spambots yet to warrant this system. At the moment, we seem to be able to reverse their vandalism fairly quickly.
Post Info Xylaquin 17:24, 18 August 2007 (EDT)
Content Well ILHI and I have just banned two spambots. These things are trouble as there's no option to enable bot-stoppers in registration (like "type these characters"). Registration is disabled at the moment. Perhaps we should implement a system where new registrants email an email address and are then registered by an Admin; this wouldn't be a lot of work since not many people join frequently.

But having to email to join does deter new members...
