First and foremost and what colors nearly everything she does and how she looks, Douweis is awkward.  She's in the middle of a growth spurt and is not yet used to the height she's already gained.  She's also rather skinny, which does nothing to help her from looking like a gangly scarecrow.  Her hair is dark brown, naturally wavy but straightened each morning (unless she wakes up late, in which case it's pulled back tightly to keep the waves under control...which doesn't often work), and her eyes are hazel-brown.

Douweis was born to a upper Middle Class Ohio family that settled in one of the many rural districts among the border of Ohio and West Virginia.  Her father and oldest brother were big animal vets, the only in their and surrounding towns, her mother the only (this word is blocked?  o.o?) in the same area, and her second oldest brother the local Phy Ed teacher and football coach and the high school.  Social activities were limited to school and church, so most of her time was spent on her own in the woods surrounding their house and taking care of the horses that her father breeds.

Appearance

She's skinny and gangly and, no matter how much she tries, always ends up looking at least somewhat awkward. Her hair is dark brown and naturally curly, which she hates and straightens every morning. It generally crimps up again after Track, so by the end of the day she has it pulled back into a tight bun.
