Springfield
- Willamalane Park District organized. (Named after the Willamette River and Lane County.)
- The Pettibone Forest Products and W. Paul Clarke mills opened in 1944 (Springfield News 1941, 1943, 1944, 1945).
- Demand for water was also great and several new water mains were installed as the community expanded. A new 50,000-gallon reservoir was constructed on Emerald Heights in 1944.
