Merty is a Metang that has EV trained itself in Defense and Special Defense, making it incredibly resiliant to most attacks. Its reason for the EV training was, in fact, because it is a nerd. With various nerdy activities. It is also known that it is a fan of the series "Professor What", a parody of Doctor Who.

History
EV Training, Robots, and... Danny.
As a young Beldum, Merty was pushed around by the other Beldum for being an awkward nerd. It always seemed to be on a different wavelength than the other Beldum, and was shunned. As a nerd, it began to EV train himself, figuring it was the best path, and during its EV training it evolved into a Metang. Once its EV training had finished, it had become resiliant to most attacks, although fairly weak in the attack side of statistics.
Still different from the old Beldum and other Metang, Merty left on its own with its best laptop and began to travel, fighting for nerds everywhere (mostly just defending them with its impassable defense). One day, however, the planet was invaded by a group of robotic Pokemon. Merty was at Mauville City at the time, one of the places hit hard, and broke into the nearby power plant where he attempted to stop a robot Plusle and Minun (Mult and Div) from activating a massive Metagross. About that time, General Cyrus Vance, Tig and Lucky appeared with a plan to send out a power surge to deactivate all the nearby robots.
Mult and Div were destroyed, but Lucky accidentally activated the Metagross. He panicked, and tried to shut it down, causing it to activate its self-destruct. He panicked even more, and eventually it overloaded and was deactivated. The electrical surge plan succeeded, and Merty decided to stay and run the power plant himself. Unfortunately, it was overzealous and caused the entire place to break down, so it left.
Eventually Merty found its way to Viridian Forest, where it met Danny right at the time he found out he was royalty. Then they went to some castle where an evil Darkrai said "Hi I'm a totally obvious evil villain!" and they went spelunking then the RP died. After the RP Merty got a new and improved laptop.
Personal Information
Personality
Merty is a nerd that believes in the religion of EV training or something. With its high Defense and Special Defense, Merty travels the globe protecting nerds from bullies. It is also an avid fan of Professor What, the Pokeworld version of Doctor Who. Merty is also skilled in various mechanical, electrical and technological activities, and can keep nearly any piece of technology running.
Appearance
Merty is a Metang with green eyes as opposed to red, and two anodes on its head spikes. Their purpose is unknown.

Merty has the Clear Body ability, preventing its stats from being lowered by the foe. In addition, it also knows these attacks:

It can also open up its bottom to store things and take things out, such as his laptop.
Final Smash: Dialect
Merty pulls out its very own custom-designed Dialect from Professor What, and rides it around as it sucks up all the items on-stage into its tube and fires them at either Merty's foes or itself, depending on what the item is. Once all the items are cleared, the Dialect will either attack foes with its plunger, parasol, or machine gun. It's also invincible; it's disadvantage is that Merty is not, and once he's knocked off the Dialect explodes.
Items
Merty has a laptop that it carries with it at all times. Except in Danny's Royalty!? it tossed it, staying it needed an upgrade anyway. Its new and improved laptop can connect to the internet anywhere, and can hook up directly to itself.
Interactions with Other Characters
Nothing too specific.
Trivia
- Merty is based on the idea of EV training in the Pokemon games, which would seem to make no sense in an actual setting. It claims to have several theories on how it works, though.
