Mech
From Yb Timeline
A Mech is a large vehicle or robot, usually humanoid, that can be used for either use for military or civilian use, usually operated by a pilot inside a cockpit. Mechs are generally, though not necessarily, bipedal, with arms, hands, and fingers capable of grasping objects. A mecha that approximates the shape of a human body allows the use of martial arts movements and swordsmanship, ceremonial acts of honor, saluting, and other human mannerisms that cannot be performed using a tank or airplane.
Any type of large machinery that uses mech technology is concidered mobile armor or a walker.

Types of Mechs
Mobile Suit
Mobile suits are the most popular and most numerous type of a mech. As humanoid combat vehicles, they typically employing two arms to deploy or weild weapons, two legs and a jetpack for propulsion agility, and a head that acts as a main camera and sometimes houses a secondary weapon that acts as a rotating turret (with the head itself providing the rotation). Typically speaking, a mobile suit is approximately around between 40 to 60 feet in height, with a cockpit located in the unit's torso. However, exceptions are not uncommon; units that are much larger or slightly smaller are not unheard of, and occasionally the cockpit is located in the head, as well. The name "mobile suit" is believed to be a combination of the terms "Mobile Infantry" and "powered armor suit" when Darkcorp first made one. They are generally used for their versatility, with many models being usable in a wide variety of environments; from inside space colonies, outer space, ground, and even occasionally underwater or in mid-air.
They have many roles, military combat, utility work such as maintinence and construction, police duties, and rescue.
They stated off as exclusive Darkcorp weapons to used for their personal armies, PMCs. Due to major flaws, they can't used in the battlefield or sold to clients. After the Sneeziers merged, Sneezier himself used the mobile suit information and gave a copy to Star World Yards and build a few for himself to a lesser extent, his fellow YB members. His sucessful mobile suit is the E-Frame Y-Mech, the first Y-Mech Mobile Suit series while the SWDF created the Jegan MK.I which will be the template for the Jegan series. Eventually, the technology became less flawed as it become mainstreamed within the entire Galactic Cluster. The Galactic Federation eventually made their own versions of the Jegan Mobile Suit Series as well as the Cyber Bell Vanguard made advanced models. Other factions also made them to even the odds against them. Orks looted parts to make "Mekkaz" but originally pilot Rick Dias models in the C'tan Wars. Space Pirates made one to resemble their their soldiers, the Carnix. Vhozon made Strike Vanishers and Wraithlords, extremely quick and deadly models with weak armor with some having a soul of a slain warrior.
Recently, Star World Colonists led by Sneezier discovered ancient yet advanced mobile suits inside a Celestial Architect city thus the precursors are the first creators of the mobile suits to combat the Necrons.
Mobile Armor
Mobile Armors are special mecha that are like mobile suits in technology and operation, but vary tremendously in design. Mobile armors are almost always significantly larger than mobile suits, and non-humanoid in appearance as well. Due to their larger size, they frequently equip ship-grade energy sources than other vehicles, giving them the ability to mount more energy-intensive equipment such as large directed-energy weapons or powerful defensive systems. Their large size also makes them capable of using equipment that is too bulky to fit into mobile suits.
Due to high costs in monetary and resources, they are often experimental units or limited production ones so making them in large number is almost impossible. Another drawback of MAs is, they can only do combat missions because some do not have humanoid arms or too large in size to complete certain tasks. Mobile suits, however, can be used for construction work or carry ammunation and materials over short distances in a ship or a base.
Slike and Dr. Eggman tends to favor mobile armors for their world conquests while the Metal Army uses automated versions that achive better results in the frontlines such as the Neo Apocalypse bomber.
Knightmare Frame
Knightmare Frames are humanoid war machines developed by the Confederation of Universal Evil. Unveiled during the the Third Galactic War, Knightmare Frames are almost exclusively used in place, and sometimes on par with the practically obsolete main battle tanks or as supersoldiers. The name "Knightmare Frame" is a play on the word nightmare and a knight's mare. Unlike mobile suits, they are small as powered armor yet only spirits can pilot them.
Knightmare Frames are often usually between nine to eleven feet tall. In addition to the standard range of bipedal movement, Knightmare Frames are equipped with Landspinners, self-propelled roller skates attached to the ankles of the machines, which allow them to achieve high mobility and speeds on most terrain. Visual data is gathered through Factsphere "Dark Matter Eye" sensors, which have multivisor capability and an array of other data-collection functions which are collated in real-time. Factspheres are commonly protected under a layer of armor which can be retracted to improve system sensitivity like eyelids. Knightmare Frames are piloted from a cockpit set in the protruding 'hump back' in the unit which is also storage compartment, a backpack. The cockpit/backpack is a self-contained control center which can be ejected in case of emergency.
Knightmare Frames are typically armed with rocket-propelled anchors or hookshots called Slash Harkens and a number of other weapons. Mass-production models usually carry handheld rifles and a number of Spiker Gernades, cylindrical air burst grenades that spray deadly bolters over a small area using Metal Storm technology. Other common equipment, though more widespread as the war progresses, are chainswords, a form of sword that can gradually cut most targets, and Hadron Cannons, powerful energy cannons which can obliterate almost anything in their path. They later have jetpack devices which allow Knighmares to fly.
The beginnings of the Knightmare Frame came from the creation of 'emergency survival cockpits' for conventional vehicles during COUE's final weeks of the Second Galactic War. Equipped with rocket engines to fly the crew away from the wreck, the contraptions were soon equipped with artificial legs to allow greater mobility. Limited room inside said vehicles restricted the number of legs to two. Though not a weapon in any sense of the word, the 'walking cockpits' provided the base form for their successors.
