The Great Panaj is an extremely ancient battleship originally a winged sailboat as the ultimate guardian of the Lekshi Kingdoms against the Porthex invasion force. It has been upgraded with new technologies over the years and its current appearance is the grand symbol of the Lekshi race and later to become a symbolic bond between Star World and Ryshi with mixed personel from both worlds. It is under Coshi's and Plasshi's command as ship captains. To distinct itself from other Yamato-Class Battleships, it has the Flag of the Alliance of Free Worlds on the bridge tower.

History

Early Incarnation

Many eons ago shortly after Ryshi's first moon crashed onto the planet and ravaging the contient, the ledgendary god bird named the Oni-Bird restored the land with its power which influenced the Yoshis and the Slugocrags into the Lekshis and the Porthex respectively. Just then, the Oni-Bird died when its immortality was taken from the Lekshi gods due to a crime of attempting to reshape the planet for selfish reasons, rotting into a skeleton which retains its god-like powers and aura. 4 million years later, the Porthex armies started to invade the Lekshi territories so a group of Elder Lekshi Shipcrafters built an ancient airship to repel the invaders. It was christened, Great Panaj since the skeleton rested on the Panaj Kingdom's fields.

Modifications and Soundly Defeat

Over centuries, the Great Panaj airship gained modifications, cannons, machine guns, metal armor plating, propellers, and a flag. The ship stills repel constant Porthex attacks, again and again, until March 2004 when the dreaded COUE invaded the planet with the local Porthex assisting COUE and enslaved most of the Ryshi population with the exception of the Panaj Kingdom. The ship fought very hard but no match for COUE superior technology, crashing into the Panaj Kingdom's boarder with the locals recover what's left of it and rebuilt it with advanced technology.

The Liberation

Under the Panaj Kingdom's care inside a secret shipyard by Emperor Kyon, the Great Panaj is stripped to the bone, removing every airship part and replacing it with starship parts and with information and schematics from a Galactic Federation datadisk, the Great Panaj became what it is now, a spaceship capable of taking on the COUE and Porthex forces along with other Yamato-Class Battleships mass produced. Their first taste of battle is against Mysterio's Death Korps' fleet along with the Sand Kingdom's ground forces led by Blitu Zanic backed by the Galactic Federation's regiment led by General Daliear. As part of the Lekshi Liberation Front, it's the main flagship for them. Eventually, the Great Panaj, personally dueled with Mysterio's personal flagship, the Fang of Dispair and won by oblitering the flagship with the Wave Motion Gun. After the battle, the Great Panaj is still under Kyon's command but on Coshi's and Plasshi's wedding, the emperor himself gave the ship as a gift, henceforth, the ship is under the ownership of the couple.

Modern Days

Characteristics

The Great Panaj is built around the skeletal frame of the Ledgendary Bird God that protect Ryshi for eons named the Oni-Bird which according to ledgend can turn the tide of battle. Although the current appearance barely resembles the original design, the frame's magical abilities allows the ship to withstand a major beating from armadas. Some even claim that it has a God-Form, mamafesting the conventional wings into the Wings of Light as depicted on ancient Ryshigyphics and in religion.

The Wave Motion Engine is the ship's main engine, based on Wave Motion technology; it is capable of converting the vacuum of space into tachyon energy. As well as functioning like a normal rocket engine, and providing essentially indefinite power to the ship, it enables the Great Panaj to "ride" the wave of tachyons and travel faster than light with combination with Slipspace.

The wings are used to provide lift in atmospheric environments, they retracted when not in use but some say it can transform into the Wings of Light. These wings of light could be used in a variety of ways, from acting as giant slicing beam weapons, to providing addition defense shield defense for the ship itself or several other targets at once.

The Yamato-class ships have three bridges; Bridge 1 contains the helm, radar, communications and command positions (including those for engineering and ship's defenses), and is the scene of much of the action and interaction. After the Liberation of Ryshi it gains a time radar system capable of viewing a region of space as it appeared hours previously.

At the top of the command tower is the Captain's personal quarters, a chair on a vertical track giving him the option of moving to his command post in Bridge 1 quickly. The Grand Panaj was modified with two seats for Coshi and Plasshi. Either side of the main bridge are radar units, and below is Bridge 2, the main navigation centre of the ship. Directly below the command tower, on the underside of the ship, is Bridge 3 which used to view everything below the ship and to be used for bombardment control. There are also observation domes either side of the command tower, and larger windowed sections either side of the main hull.

Elsewhere aboard the ship are a conference room (with a large floor-mounted screen) and a hologram chamber (the "resort room") for projecting images of Ryshi and (Star World for Great Panaj) to combat homesickness. There is also a cryogenics brig chamber to keep prisoners frozen so they won't escape. An engineering and development section contains an automated multi-purpose construction unit capable of building any required device. More mundane locations include the infirmary, galley, stateroom and gym. Travel within the ship is achieved by means of lifts, teleportation pads, warp pipes, moving walkways and, for emergencies, chutes.

The battleship also has an advanced computer AI of SWDF origin named Onistar whose holographic physical form is a blue Star Sprite. According to Ryshi legend, the Oni-Bird's spirit bonded with the AI to guide the ship with all kinds of tactics and strategies. Aside from being the advisor, the AI can control parts of the ship, usually the auto turrets.

Weapons

Wave Motion Gun

The "trump card" of the Yamato-class Battleship, it functions by connecting the Wave Motion Engine to the enormous firing gate at the ship's bow, enabling the tachyon energy power of the engine to be fired in a stream directly forwards. Enormously powerful, it can anihilate a fleet of enemy ships or an entire contient with one shot; however, it takes a brief but critical period to charge before firing. It also requires all non-essential power systems be deactivated, and leaves the ship powerless and adrift for a short time after firing. The recoil absorption mechanism can be manually deactivated for emergencies.

It has alternative attack that instead of firing the Wave Motion Gun, it forms an energy spear called the "Wave Motion Spear" and to overclock the engines up to 10000 MPH, speeding like a shooting star, tearing up space stations, armadas, and sometime moons. After the attack, the wave motion engine has to cool down for a minute, leaving it vulnerable. Enemies and allies alike concider this attack crazy or suicidal due to Coshi's willing to take insane risks to achieve victories or when Plasshi's very desperate to claim near-impossible feats.

Hyper Star Tri-Cannons

The three powerful energy guns used for ship-to-ship combat. Each cannon fires three shooting stars which spiral around each other to form a single, more powerful star, capable of severely damaging or destroying enemy warships. The cannons are operated by bridge operators that act as gunner with the captain giving the orders. In addition to firing stars, the guns can be loaded with other ammunition, usually bullet bills or sometimes people.

Primary Gun Batteries

The Gun Batteries are used as secondary weapon used on battleships, although not as powerful as Hyper Star Tri-Cannons, they still pack a punch, firing smaller stars capable of knocking down smaller ships.

Secondary Hull Shock Cannons

Special secondary wepons that fires EMP waves to disable enemy starfighters. Rarely used unless for capture and rescuing operations that requires minimal damage.

auto turrets

The auto turrets are a set of two- and four-barrelled gun turrets lining the sides of the spaceship, firing energy pulses or solid ammunition which can destroy small craft such as starfighters and detonate missiles. The turret clusters generally aim at the same targets; usually controled by an onboard AI.

Torpedo Tubes

Six forward-firing torpedo tubes, principally for use underwater, fire armor piercing torpedos against thick alloys, or to launch claymores to wipe out swarms of starfighters. To make it more efficent in rapiding launching, the ship engineers replaced tradition manual labor with automated auto reloading mechanism originally used on Ryshi tanks, saving lower deck crews hundreds.

Missiles

The Great Panaj has a varity of missles ranging from regular anti-starfighter types to tactical nuclear ones. They can be launched from any side but the most iconic is from the solo "smoke stack" to take anything from above or the rear. To make it more efficent in rapiding launching, the ship engineers replaced tradition manual labor with automated auto reloading mechanisms originally used on Ryshi tanks, saving crews hundreds in manual labor much like the torpedo tubes.

Clawshot Rocket Anchors

Either side of the bow are rocket-powered mechanical anchors at the ends of strong chains, which the ship can use to anchor itself to asteroids and, if necessary, provide a gravity-assisted slingshot. They can also be used to deflect enemy ships from collision. It can be used as melee weapons to pulverize smaller ship like a punch.

Wings of Light

During times of peril, the ship will go into it's overdrive state as it transforms into the Ultimate Panaj. The standard wings will transform into the ledgendary Wings of Light, a form that has yet to appear. According to the planet's religion, the Wings of Light destroys evil since the wings are made of tachyon energy and the Oni-Bird Skeleton's magic. They can be used in a variety of ways, from acting as giant slicing beam weapons, to providing addition defense shield defense for the ship itself or several other targets at once. The "feathers" that sometimes molt can sometimes can home in onto any foe like a missle.

Ships of the Line

The other ships of the Yamato Battleships are slightly different from the Great Panaj they were based on. Although some have different weaponry, different AIs, or the lack of superior armor, many of these ships still retain the trademark Wave Motion Gun, now a symbol of the Yamato line. Another fact is that it lacked the Oni-Bird skeleton framework, making it weaker and unable to transform into it's Ultimate State.

Shinigami Reaper

One of the early mass production versions of the Yamato Battleship Series. Under captain Karulo, it used to escort the Great Panaj until after the Liberation of Ryshi. It is one of the few Yamato Battleships that participate in the massive Mekkai assualt and survived with only a missing right wing.

Koi Cheep

Shogun's Wrath

Sandblade

A Terra Yamato created to defend the Sand Kingdom from enemies. Known to slay a gigantic Scorporca, a giant chimera that is part whale and part scorpion.

Variants

Terra Yamato

A land battleship that exhanged its wings and starship parts for land vehicle parts with large treads. The underbelly features are gone in exchange for more storage space for land forces. To make more efficent in battle, it can float on any suface of water. They are only used by the Lekshi Liberation Front which later became the Ryshi Global Union. They are usually used for planetary operations on other worlds and a mobile command center.

Shadow Yamato

A Yamato-Class Battleship built with an advanced cloaking device and stealth systems, sacrificing a few weapons but retain the wave motion gun. It is invisible to the naked eye, all visors, all sensors, and even all forms of radar. It was used for hit and run tactic against COUE's bases during the Liberation of Ryshi but has been rarely used after the battle.
